The future of the armed forces, the success of recruitment into the professional army depends significantly on whether the youth will be interested in serving in the army, what is their attitude towards the defense of the homeland and patriotism. The increasing prevalence of misinformation in society can cause various negative phenomena. In 2022, we carried out research on the perception of disinformation among police officers. The police and security forces work with disinformation, so it was interesting to find out how they perceive the issue of disinformation. Data collection took place in 2022 using the survey method. A simplified model of cadet initial adaptation aimed at basic leadership competencies to achieve personal development in terms of ethics and morality, building self discipline and social relations was proposed. The need to strengthen the system of education for security and defense within military departmental universities was identified. A survey of experts' opinions and a qualitative analysis of cases of competence formation of military students in the process of initial adaptation in selected land forces academies, i.e. the Polish Academy of Land Forces named after General Kosciuszko (AWL), the United States Military Academy (USMA) of West Point, the Austrian Theresian military academy i.e. Theresia Military Academy of the Federal Ministry of Defense (TM), the Greek military academy i.e. Military School \"Evelpidon\" (S.S.E). It focuses on establishing an item bank with individual subtests with the same specification and construction for full-time and combined studies. The language level is based on The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages – specialist vocabulary level B2. The comparison of percentage success rate of full-time and part-time students was followed. The main objective of data collection was supported by information technology. However, at this time there is interesting insight through the prism of not exclusively ideological or sympathetic intrusions into political parties with at least questionable platform of establishment, staffing with a very disturbing past and 're-staffing', resp. recruiting official supporters on the verge of influencing. Unprecedented signals are penetrating society with the message that (recent) military leaders are somehow connected to the political groups acting on the verge of extremism at least because of their activities in the past. The general requirements for personal qualities, abilities and skills for service in the modern armed forces are similar in all armies of democratic countries and undergo approximately the same development. Efforts to educate and develop future military officers aim to produce highly competent, ethical and effective leaders who will serve the nation. But while there is general agreement about the desired outcomes, the underlying developmental processes associated with those outcomes are not well understood.
