The article frames the topic of leadership in the context of the combat potential of the armed forces. He also describes the use of the concept of leadership in the system of doctrines of the Armed Forces of the Slovak Republic. The article develops its position within the social competence of commanders and outlines the possibilities of optimizing the education of squad leaders with a focus on the development of their social competence.
