This new service model is closely related to previous, well-known distributed computing initiatives such as Web services and grid computing. In the current socioeconomic climate, the affordability of cloud computing has gained it popularity among today's innovations. Under these circumstances, more and more cloud services become available. Consequently, it is becoming more and more difficult for service consumers to find and access those cloud services that fulfill their requirements. In this work, a cloud computing ontology is proposed that facilitates a semantic identification, discovery and access to the services in the cloud. Moreover, a tool that (semi-) automatically annotates cloud services and stores their semantic description is introduced.","PeriodicalId":164789,"journal":{"name":"2012 6th Euro American Conference on Telematics and Information Systems (EATIS)","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114687603","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is intended to explain the levels of maturity achieved in the implementation of ICT in companies under study. Specifically, it explores to what extent factors such as industry, organizational size, training of human resources, availability of technology and technological awareness, affect the level of technological appropriation. The study was based on a survey implemented in 2011 to 46 companies and service trade Rosario and surrounding areas. They keep the 3 maturity levels (basic, intermediate and advanced) defined in previous work, incorporating each new variables related to training IT human resources and technological level of consciousness, in order to deepen about causalities in the levels of maturation detected. The main findings reveal the impact of computer training and technological awareness in the learning process to more mature stages.","PeriodicalId":164789,"journal":{"name":"2012 6th Euro American Conference on Telematics and Information Systems (EATIS)","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114762172","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The semantic web brings with it the promise of a web of data (instead of the current web of documents) that will help to lower some of the barriers developers encounter when trying to gather data from multiple sources. Instead of having to resort to brittle screen-scrapping techniques, if data that is already present in web pages is encased in markup (such as RDFa) that makes it meaning explicit, developers can harvest that data directly and without ambiguities, turning human readable into machine readable data without the need to duplicate data. Since most of today's web development is done using web application frameworks that generate pages dynamically, placing that kind of markup unassisted is not feasible. As such there is the need for tools that extend the functionalities provided by web application frameworks in order to be able to add that kind of markup to a dynamically generated page, using the correct information for each item. In this paper we introduce one of those tools, aRDF, a plugin for the Grails web application framework that can be used to generate RDFa enhanced pages based on annotated underlying domain information.","PeriodicalId":164789,"journal":{"name":"2012 6th Euro American Conference on Telematics and Information Systems (EATIS)","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124311814","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Location systems are maybe the most popular mashups. An example of a location system is RotaCerta. This system makes use of Google Maps API to generate textual route descriptions between two locations within a city. RotaCerta novelty is the use of Points of Interest (POI) in the generated descriptions so to facilitate the route comprehension and assimilation by the user. RotaCerta suffers, however, from a severe limitation on the need for manual feeding of the POI's base for each city of interest. This work is exhausting, costly, and greatly limits its usage. This paper proposes a mechanism for automated feeding of POI base for RotaCerta system by means of Google Places. Experiments were performed for three different cities in Brazil and the results confirm the gain of intuitiveness in the textual description of the generated paths and demonstrated the elimination of previous limitation and the consequent encouragement of its large scale usage.","PeriodicalId":164789,"journal":{"name":"2012 6th Euro American Conference on Telematics and Information Systems (EATIS)","volume":"51 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126679593","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Extensive range of wireless data services with reasonable coverage is available from public wireless services providers, however, mostly no relevant range of availability, quality and security is guaranteed. ITS services require cost-effectively solution and it can be resolved by combination of the “core” public solution with the other public as well as private services where and when it is needed. Such approach requires implementation of the relevant flexible system architecture supported by the efficient decision processes. ITS specific service security requirements would not underestimated, as well. Special situation is identified in case of the C2I (Car to Infrastructure) and C2C (Car to Car) communication namely if the vehicle on board unit is interconnected with the vehicle CAN (Controlled Area Network) based network. Such configurations significantly increase potential of dangerous intruders' attacks. Probability of the critical hazards appearances significantly grows if the ITS data are transferred via publically reachable wide area networks. That is also the main reason why relevant telecommunications security support is understood as one of the crucial part of the ITS telecommunications solution.","PeriodicalId":164789,"journal":{"name":"2012 6th Euro American Conference on Telematics and Information Systems (EATIS)","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121476723","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
