Such application was directed for support to mobile devices, such as, Tablets, cellphones and Palms, and its use was applied in a Linux platform. Its operation consists in the capture, analysis and identification of the signs of alphabet of the LIBRAS, realized by users. PDI (Digital Image Processing), Web Service and Computational Intelligence were employed in the development of the project. The process starts from the identification of the captured images, where occurs the background subtraction, which is implemented to split the acquired images in two subsets: the background and interest objects(foreground). After this division, the representation of the interest objects is realized using an image description technique, known as Calculation of Moments Invariants. Then these objects are sent to the web server, analyzed and classified, through Computational Intelligence. At the end of process, the letter corresponding from the alphabet is obtained in the mobile device. For development and tests, the mobile device Nokia Internet Tablet N810 and the language Python are utilized. Part of the solution executes in one server and was developed using the language Java with XML/RPC (Remote Procedure Call) as alternative in relation to the limitation of the processing in the mobile device.","PeriodicalId":164789,"journal":{"name":"2012 6th Euro American Conference on Telematics and Information Systems (EATIS)","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130137156","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, these networks have not been standardized and many problems are open or inefficient solution, as routing performance. This article proposes a mechanism, MAC-OLSR, to improve packet routing in a mesh network, using the decision support system, MACBETH, together with the pruning system, which improves the selection criterion of routing protocol OLSR (Optimized Link State Routing). To validate this proposal we developed a prototype in the Network Simulator (NS) tested on a scenario based on a real network.","PeriodicalId":164789,"journal":{"name":"2012 6th Euro American Conference on Telematics and Information Systems (EATIS)","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130579547","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

By having a closed pattern, these tools end up hurting the student, for preventing it from interacting with anyone who shares the same interests as him. As a result, the concepts of community, relationship and interaction between users are required to overcome these limitations. This paper proposes the development of an architecture for creating a social software that enables the use of online social networks automatically created for students.","PeriodicalId":164789,"journal":{"name":"2012 6th Euro American Conference on Telematics and Information Systems (EATIS)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125165892","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The protocol was designed considering the state-of-the-art recovery and protection techniques, which will be briefly described throughout this document. One of those techniques, called Resilience Routing Layer, is used as the basic algorithm for sub-topology generation. The protocol prototype was tested in a real environment based on virtualization. The experimentation shows that the protocol leads the network to a quick convergence, below few milliseconds, which presents a sensitive improvement in recovery time, if compared to the currently used protocols such as OSPF, RIP and EIRGP. MTRP produces new recovery paths with costs almost as low as the primary ones with the recovery time practically the hardware failure detection time.","PeriodicalId":164789,"journal":{"name":"2012 6th Euro American Conference on Telematics and Information Systems (EATIS)","volume":"432 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115598991","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The objective of a Channel Assignment problem is to assign a required number of channels to each cell in a way to achieve both efficient frequency spectrum utilization and minimization of interference effects (by satisfying a number of channel reuse constraints). Dynamic Channel Assignment (DCA) assigns the channels to the cells dynamically according to traffic demand, and hence, can provide higher capacity (or lower call blocking probability), fidelity and quality of service than the fixed assignment schemes. Devising a DCA, that is practical, efficient, and which can generate high quality allocations, is challenging. This paper presents an effective and efficient Modified Genetic Algorithm (MGA) for the solution of DCA Problem.","PeriodicalId":164789,"journal":{"name":"2012 6th Euro American Conference on Telematics and Information Systems (EATIS)","volume":"301 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114476339","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Dyslalia is a problem that commonly affects in preschool, thus a virtual world may then be exploited to complement the therapy for children with speech disorders. The children with this disorder have problems like substitute, leave off, or change sounds in some phonemes or symphonies example given words that begin with two consonants: to say friend becomes fiend. The children may either leave out these sounds, not pronounce them clearly, or use a different sound in its place. The main goal of this paper is to present an alternative for supporting the treatment of children with dyslalia and how to combine traditional therapy with activities in virtual worlds. The paper addresses aspects of design of a virtual world that can be used to complement the work of the therapist and the therapy of these children for making activities in care centers, school or anywhere. We look at the challenge to develop a virtual world that includes activities of phonemes and symphonies articulation, aim to be useful for children and therapists who assist in dyslalia speech treatment. Therefore, getting benefits offered by computer science for supporting these needs.","PeriodicalId":164789,"journal":{"name":"2012 6th Euro American Conference on Telematics and Information Systems (EATIS)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125349432","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Hypersea can be used for any kind of on-line or off-line content in desktop and mobile devices. Its design is focused on information pieces coming from online web2.0 applications, which are stored as structured nodes with visual and spatial characteristics that can be explicitly or implicitly linked. This paper discusses Hypersea philosophy and principles, and illustrates examples for organizing web2.0 content. Vice versa, we propose how existing web2.0 applications may benefit from Hypersea visualization characteristics. For example, blog entries and Facebook profiles, which are displayed as long text-based pages, can be reorganized in order to enable the user to focus and navigate towards the desired information. We also show how Hypersea has been implemented by using the ontology paradigm. With this implementation, we show how ontologies can be combined seamlessly with visual, spatial interfaces. Finally, we provide some premilinary evaluation results and future work.","PeriodicalId":164789,"journal":{"name":"2012 6th Euro American Conference on Telematics and Information Systems (EATIS)","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125285062","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For the Industrial Data Matrix Codes marked on planar surfaces with no perspective errors, the scanning process is performed based on the orientation angle of the pattern and the distance between modules. This method is simple and efficient for planar surfaces but for the cases when the Data Matrix Code image has hard perspective errors is useless. To achieve this, we describe an efficient method for scanning the Industrial Data Matrix Codes for the special situations like the perspective errors. An imaginary grid of points is constructed which has the same orientation as the surface. The imaginary grid is projected on to the image and following it, the Data Matrix Code Image is scanned extracting the binary information.","PeriodicalId":164789,"journal":{"name":"2012 6th Euro American Conference on Telematics and Information Systems (EATIS)","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121825863","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
