Correctness is proved formally using predicate logic, which requires certain mathematical maturity from the programmer. This work proposes a diagrammatic reasoning tool for representing the predicates, with a minimal blend of symbolic notation, thus providing an easy-to-use tool to achieve the same benefit. Knowledge of scripting languages along with code-reading skills is imperative to effectively execute maintenance projects. This paper outlines some of the higher order challenges faced by an IT graduate in learning scripting language from a project perspective or as an additional skill set. It also proposes a blended model to impart training on scripting language with focus on benchmarked ways of design and development of client relevant training material. Training effectiveness and learning outcomesaremeasured using Kirkpatrick model. Collated statistics shows a high degree of improvement in grades, substantial reduction in number of code defects and tangible business benefits to the organization. Systems -- especially those which do personalized lesson generation -- require the author to precisely follow a predefined pedagogic model while developing content. Careful coordination is required between contributors to ensure consistency and to prevent duplication of efforts. This slows down content development and also reduces the scope for reuse of existing digital content like video lectures. In this paper we propose a framework for a lesson generation system which supports massively distributed content development, by requiring only a minimum amount of prior planning and coordination between contributors. He/she only has to fill a simple metadata schema -- consisting of 3 sets of strings -- while adding the content to the repository. However, there is a lack of detailed documentation about the actual process to be adopted under different conditions to create such a repository. The commonly established process adopts a synchronous model in which there is continuous face-to-face communication between the various members of the team - the subject matter experts, the instructional designers, the code developers and the reviewers. The synchronous process has resulted in the production of good quality LOs but in restricted domains and in small numbers. This model is not suitable to scale the LO production process up along numbers and across multiple domains without compromising on quality. In this paper we propose an asynchronous model for rapid, large-scale development of LOs in multiple science and engineering domains at the tertiary level of education. The child has to learn the alphabet of the language of his education, learn vocabulary, pronunciation and elementary reading skills; be able to recognize objects, their features and relationships; and learn basic concepts and skills of arithmetic and geometry. The teaching community has developed many techniques to reduce the drudgery of drills and rote learning in early primary education such as group activities, games, songs and play-acting. However, these techniques are intense in terms of teacher-student interaction. The field of computing has the potential to contribute much to helping teachers in making early learning experience of children enjoyable and efficacious. The present work reports development of PAL -- Platform for Assisted Learning. PAL is a platform for aiding understanding of concepts and learning of basic skills in areas mentioned above. However, many of the concepts are equally applicable to Higher Education. The central theme of this paper is that, many of the ills of the current teacher-centric education system can be effectively addressed, if we are able to shift the emphasis from teaching to learning. A very important first step in this process is to carefully consider and clearly articulate the goals of all educational programmes. The concepts discussed in this paper draw significantly from the Washington Accord documents related to Engineering Education, but goes well beyond. It also draws upon the work done by nearly 500 faculty members from a large number of Institutions under the NMEICT project \"Developing suitable pedagogical methods for various classes, intellectual calibers and research in e-learning\" funded by the MHRD, Government of India. It is argued that if specific learning objectives for a programme of study can be clearly defined well in advance, then many subsequent activities such as technology assisted content search, content development, small group collaborative learning, group mentoring, development of CAI lessons, appropriate simulation tools, activity based learning and computer aided evaluation can be effectively planned and implemented. CALL is just one aspect of TELL, or technology enhanced language learning. Though imaginative explorations of computers have included the creation of interactive multi media environments for English language learning and teaching, researches show that most exercises are stereotyped, predictable and repetitive thus creating lack of interest in students. The World Wide Web, were new and varied corpora is added everyday, is an alternative that ought to be given serious consideration to ensure that students' interests and their motivation in using CALL are sustained. This paper attempts to trace out patterns in systematically using contents from the World Wide Web for implementing CALL in educational institutions. The participants were 108 students from classes seven and eight, assigned to four groups each corresponding to one of the four learning conditions. Learning outcomes, as measured by post-game assessment tools speci?c to each of the three games were set as the dependent variable. The ?ndings suggest that game-based learning is in?uenced by the pedagogical context within which the actual gameplay activity is situated.
