As vehicles move, the DSI available to each vehicle must be updated. However, the availability is inherently not complete under the assumption that communication is unreliable and not always done within a specific period of time. A vehicle may “disappear” from the DSI no matter how frequently the DSI is updated. This disappearance may lead to incorrect conclusions of collision possibility. We show that the availability checking in our model is justified in practice by using Max-satisfiability modulo theories (Max-SMT) solvers. We illustrate our model through simple DSI examples and demonstrate that the proposed model reasonably gives availability checking results.","PeriodicalId":161789,"journal":{"name":"2017 2nd International Conference on System Reliability and Safety (ICSRS)","volume":"153 8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131334700","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The arrival of customers in system follows Poisson process and service of customers follows exponential distribution. The broken server is immediately sent for repairing so that it becomes as good as earlier. Runge-Kutta method has been used to study the transient analysis of finite Markovian queueing model. Various performance measures like waiting time, queue length, throughput, and service state probabilities have also been obtained.","PeriodicalId":161789,"journal":{"name":"2017 2nd International Conference on System Reliability and Safety (ICSRS)","volume":"488 2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129177408","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

During this transition, the critical traffic bottleneck plays an important role in maintaining the global functional connectivity of the whole system. However, little attention has been paid to how the traffic percolation will be benefited from the improvements of traffic percolation bottlenecks. Here, we study the improvement of traffic bottlenecks in a traffic model and find that the traffic bottlenecks can greatly affect the organization efficiency of traffic flow. We propose a method of traffic bottlenecks load-reducing, which shows a significant improvement of traffic percolation on the network scale under different traffic conditions. Comparing with different methods, we demonstrate the advantage of the method of traffic bottlenecks load-reducing in the improvement of traffic percolation. Our findings may provide new insights for the research of bottlenecks and develop effective measures to improve the traffic reliability in real traffic.","PeriodicalId":161789,"journal":{"name":"2017 2nd International Conference on System Reliability and Safety (ICSRS)","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127355382","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, an electric workover rig power compensation system (PCS) is proposed to solve these problems, and supercapacitors energy storage is used to resolve the power limitation of wellsites transformer. A controlled charging method for supercapacitors is used in PCS to achieve fast charging and meet operation time requirements. The voltage and current of PCS is monitored by the control unit (CU) in real time. A power compensation control strategy is developed to realize the steady power output of PCS, and the operation states of PCS are divided into standby, charging, energy supply mode and failure mode. Simulation results show the feasibility of the proposed PCS.","PeriodicalId":161789,"journal":{"name":"2017 2nd International Conference on System Reliability and Safety (ICSRS)","volume":"427 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123591524","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In connection to Industry 4.0, the predictive maintenance systems and approach are getting more popular in maintenance. This is because these systems enable a change in the maintenance mind-set where the break-fix mentality is substituted by a predictive maintenance system, such as Condition Based Maintenance (CBM), where the equipment is monitored with the support of ICTs to detect failures before they occur. The Industry 4.0 seems more attainable even for small and medium sized companies because of the drop in the prices of the components of these systems, both in the sensing elements and in the data processing part. The manufacturing methods used in the Integrated Circuit (IC) industry create the possibility to reduce significantly the price tag of sensors and processors. Therefore, the authors go through the CBM approach and technologies, such as Microelectromechanical System (MEMS) sensors as well as such emerging ICTs as the Cloud and Big data. These could offer a turning point in traditional maintenance by widening the amount of monitored assets, allowing multiple parameters to be measured and analysed and enabling wireless and immediate data access across the globe.","PeriodicalId":161789,"journal":{"name":"2017 2nd International Conference on System Reliability and Safety (ICSRS)","volume":"118 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116371827","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For these purposes, physical quantities in pipelines are calculated from measurement data on the basis of a mathematical model. In contrast to static models, adaptive models vary their parameters or even their structure to reach the most probable solution. But in most cases, even the best fit will hold residuals caused by discrepancies between the real system and its model. These residuals allow an estimation of travel-time delays of pressure waves and offsets in pressure values. The basic idea of our approach is to interpret these systematic, time-invariant errors of pressure measurements in pipelines either as sensor displacements or as technical defects. The proposed procedure leads to a hypothesis for a model update, regarding the sensor positions. This displacement compensation as well as a variance analysis was successfully applied to real data from a crude oil pipeline in Europe. A cross validation proves the general capability of the developed method to reduce the uncertainties.","PeriodicalId":161789,"journal":{"name":"2017 2nd International Conference on System Reliability and Safety (ICSRS)","volume":"137 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121248433","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The direct driven PMSG (DDPMSG) system has high potential for the large scale wind turbines because of its robustness, increased energy yield and reliability compared to others. However, the main advantage of DDPMSG is the high cost of PMs and the demagnetization risk at high temperature. Therefore, the comparative analysis in terms of PM type chosen for 1.5 MW PMSG is presented in this paper. The comparison is made taking into discussion about the electromagnetic criteria for four types of PMs: AlNiCo, XG 196/96 and two rare earth PMs — SmCo and NdFeB. Maxwell 2D RMxprt is used for analyzing of the cogging torque and airgap flux density at different PM materials used in PMSG for wind energy generation. According to simulation results, NdFeB is the most suitable magnet for low speed PMSGs.","PeriodicalId":161789,"journal":{"name":"2017 2nd International Conference on System Reliability and Safety (ICSRS)","volume":"47 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130777963","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To improve the reliability of SEMs, SEM enterprises have conducted a lots of activities related to reliability design, process control and test, etc. of SEMs; however, affected by many reasons, such as defects caused by raw materials, components and manufacturing process, and relatively extreme operating environment, SEMs are hard to achieve inherent reliability level of the original design. To meet the requirements for the time to market, performance of SEMs are required to be evaluated in the shortest time. The Highly Accelerated Life Test (HALT) has been widely used to obtain more reliability information in a short time by stimulating potential defects of products and shortening test duration, and now has become an important mean to evaluate product reliability. Therefore, HALT is an effective way to evaluate performance of SEMs, and the experimental method has been fully approved, promoted and widely used by SEM manufacturers at home and abroad. However, there is no unified HALT program for SEMs. The paper introduces research status of HALT on SEMs, the significance of HALT to improve the product reliability, terms and definitions related to HALT on SEMs, and provides detailed discussion on the way to carry out HALT experiment, including preparation, specification indexes of experiment parameters, requirements for capacity of experimental equipment, experimental steps and details; it has provided theoretical basis and operation guidance for HALT on SEMs. Finally, we conduct an HALT example according to the test methods to show that the poweron and meter reading item is the weakest part of SEM.","PeriodicalId":161789,"journal":{"name":"2017 2nd International Conference on System Reliability and Safety (ICSRS)","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133157759","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the effect of both dependency property and recovery scheme on network resilience is seldom addressed. In this paper, we introduce a dependency strength function which describe the way of evolution of dependency strength and select the common spontaneous recovery scheme for networks with dependency groups. Then, based on resilience framework, we investigate the effect of dependency strength and spontaneous recovery probability on network resilience by simulation. Numerical simulations employing the Erdős-Rényi networks show that the dependency strength has little impact on network resilience, and spontaneous recovery probability has a positive correlation with the network resilience. With the increase of time period T, the role of recovery probability in network resilience becomes smaller and smaller. Furthermore, improving the spontaneous recovery probability and the convexity of function of dependency strength significantly reduce the number of iterations of network back to normal operation under low recovery probability.","PeriodicalId":161789,"journal":{"name":"2017 2nd International Conference on System Reliability and Safety (ICSRS)","volume":"112 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134426978","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
