Abstract

This paper presents holistic approaches to a sustainable asset management of wind turbines by the combined application of reliability methods and in-service information of the plant in the operation and maintenance (O&M) phase of the overall plant life cycle. It presents the capabilities of a RCAM analysis using currently available empirical statistics for European and German wind turbines. Requirements and a basic framework for future detailed quantitative modelling and decision analysis algorithms based on the Bayesian theory will be outlined.
