Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) is a well-known technique used to identify the causes that lead to the failure of a top event. In this paper, we aim to analyze the reliability of communications between drones or between drones and ground station control using FTA. Improving the reliability of the communication system would guarantee the success of the mission. Data for basic events has been gathered from the Nonelectronic Parts Reliability Data Publication (NPRD). The probability of occurrence of communication failure between the drones is calculated taking into consideration the presence or absence of a crash.","PeriodicalId":161789,"journal":{"name":"2017 2nd International Conference on System Reliability and Safety (ICSRS)","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129175945","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to provide high-quality service to customers, the service reliability based IT infrastructure that delivers the service and implements the active-active mechanism is a key concern. In order to evaluate and further improve the service reliability of the cloud data center under active-active mechanism, modeling is absolutely necessary but complex. In this paper, a novel colored generalized stochastic petri net (CGSPN) model based on IT infrastructures is build up, which clearly reflect the dynamic behavior and service request processing procedure under the active-active mechanism. During the modeling, the hierarchical modeling method is applied. The outline net illustrates the processing procedure and the subnets consider the failure and resource usage of each node. Afterwards, the simulation is carried out through CPN Tools and applied in a use case, which verifies the validity of our approach.","PeriodicalId":161789,"journal":{"name":"2017 2nd International Conference on System Reliability and Safety (ICSRS)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134218669","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Storage elements in digital designs are vulnerable against bit-flips that may impact a design's functionality. While counter-measures against these effects are well understood, they incur a high cost when all elements in a design shall be protected. In this work, a method is proposed to profile a design that is to be synthesized using High-Level Synthesis (HLS) in order to identify storage elements that have a high impact on the design's functionality for selective protection. A proof of concept was implemented for the proposed profiling method using an open-source HLS tool. Using this proof-of-concept implementation, three different profiling strategies were applied to a set of use-case designs. These designs were subjected to fault injection to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.","PeriodicalId":161789,"journal":{"name":"2017 2nd International Conference on System Reliability and Safety (ICSRS)","volume":"522 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123207259","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Engineering fields; Manufacturing, design, industry, space, food, or any other area where engineering activities are performed. Especially in large-scale projects, it has become a necessity. This study focused on planning which is one of the 4 main functions of engineering management. Planning refers to the process of deciding what to do and how to do it. Good planning requires a process that clearly defines the steps leading to the most appropriate solutions. In recently published articles investigation of the current state of engineering management is searched. The phases of the planning are described and methods of use in different engineering fields are given. In this case, a research paper was prepared to address different engineering areas instead of a single use in the area.","PeriodicalId":161789,"journal":{"name":"2017 2nd International Conference on System Reliability and Safety (ICSRS)","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127774858","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To counteract this phenomenon, various technical and managerial activities are envisaged, including non-destructive controls on pipes and vessels. Many factors can accelerate or slow down the ageing. Industrial managers must include controls within an organic plan, taking into account the potential of the most innovative technologies. The aim of this work is to present a synthetic methodology that can be useful for the Seveso inspectors and auditors, who have the difficult task of evaluating in a short time the adequacy of the monitoring plan. They cannot get into the details of the assessment, thus they must go straight to understand if schedules and techniques are congruent with the different ageing mechanisms in place and with the conditions that have been found. The result is a benchmarking method that is suitable both for internal audits and for inspections by control bodies.","PeriodicalId":161789,"journal":{"name":"2017 2nd International Conference on System Reliability and Safety (ICSRS)","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127827596","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

At first, on the basis of traditional reliability analysis method, FTA, the railway signal equipment is appropriately divided into several independent parts or components, and the fault probability is calculated under the condition that the component performance is affected by EMI. Next, based on the AHP, the weight of risk occurrence degree for each fault mode is inferred, and each fault mode is properly classified into the fail-safety side and fail-danger side to obtain the probability values of the component. Then, owing to the influential mechanism of EMI on signal equipment, ß-factor based CCF is introduced to analyze the posteriori probability by BN. Therefore, compared with the original probability data without EMI, the quantitative result clearly shows the influence extent under the EMI since it determines the equipment's SIL. Finally, taking ZPW-2000A track circuit as the typical case, the impacts of EMI are analyzed based on this procedure, and the detailed safety data of transmitter and receiver are calculated and discussed, the result preliminarily proves the feasibility of this quantitative analysis method.","PeriodicalId":161789,"journal":{"name":"2017 2nd International Conference on System Reliability and Safety (ICSRS)","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122651269","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main target is to find out final probability of occurrence attacks against places of worship (inside of the object). This method in particular provides an analytical evaluation of the basic characteristics of these attacks and probabilities are included. In order to create the diagram, we gathered the details of terrorist attacks against soft targets in the European Union from the years 2000 to 2015. We checked manually each case and we created specific database of these attacks. This analysis can be used as a detailed informative overview about terrorist attacks on places of worship. Places of worship are highly attractive for terrorists in compare with other soft target's objects. There are minimum security measures so success of potential attacks is very likely.","PeriodicalId":161789,"journal":{"name":"2017 2nd International Conference on System Reliability and Safety (ICSRS)","volume":"61 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134031602","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The system operates based on natural circulations in and outside the steel vessel, the heat produced in the containment will be transferred to the atmosphere by such processes, which is easily affected by some uncertain factors, air temperature, power, etc. Especially for PCCS the water sprayed to the outside surface of the containment is one of the crucial factors to heat and mass transfer, and the film on the outside surface of the vessel is influenced by the accident development.
