The leaves extracts of Anogeissus Latifolia had shown a dose dependant inhibition of spontaneous motility (Paralysis) of earthworms. It has been observed that ethanolic extract (60mg/ml) has shown anthelmintic activity, which was compared with albendazole as reference drug. Therefore the leaves could be categorized under anthelmintic herbal drugs and could become a potent key ingredient of such herbal formulation.","PeriodicalId":15889,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Global Pharma Technology","volume":"36 1","pages":"21-24"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-11-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81211576","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Optical density of this protein sample were measured at different molecular weight ranges like 50-60 k.Da, 30-40 k.Da and 14-20 k.Da in different groups of human subjects. Concentration of this protein sample is direct proportional to optical density. The basic method of protein estimation in saliva is SDS-PAGE (sodium dodecyl sulfate- polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis). This study showed significant changes when compared to controlled groups and the statistical analyzes were performed through factorial One-way ANOVA done by Dunnetts Multiple Comparison Test.","PeriodicalId":15889,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Global Pharma Technology","volume":"13 1","pages":"1-7"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-10-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81243197","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

An attempt has been made to review some medicinal plants used for the prevention and treatment of diseases. Certain medicinal plants are believed to promote positive health and maintain organic resistance against infection by re-establishing body equilibrium and conditioning the body tissues. It is tempting to speculate that the restorative and rejuvenating power of these herbal remedies might be due to their action on the immune system and some of the medicinal plants are believed to enhance the natural resistance of the body to infections. A plethora of physiologically active substances (saponins, alkaloids, flavonoids, glycosides, polysaccharides, etc.) have been shown to stimulate the immune system.","PeriodicalId":15889,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Global Pharma Technology","volume":"7 1","pages":"1-14"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-08-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84375963","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is a unique technology for the controlled release of topical agents and consists of Microporous beads, typically 10-25 microns in diameter, loaded with active agent. When applied to the skin, the MDS releases its active ingredient on a time mode and also in response to other stimuli (rubbing, temperature, pH, etc). MDS technology is being used in cosmetics, over-the-counter (OTC) skin care, sunscreens and prescription products. Delivery system comprised of a polymeric bead having network of pores with an active ingredient held within, to provide controlled release of the active ingredients whose final target is skin itself.","PeriodicalId":15889,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Global Pharma Technology","volume":"42 1","pages":"15-24"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-08-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"87268788","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
