In general it is required to disconnect the starting capacitor at some point during ramp up of the motor. This could be dependent on the speed of the motor or a preset time. The solution in this paper is based on a triac as a power switch to turn off the capacitor, while the criterion for turn off is time based.","PeriodicalId":150282,"journal":{"name":"2022 22nd International Symposium on Electrical Apparatus and Technologies (SIELA)","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126796905","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Both equations are derived under the assumption that the conduction current prevails over the dielectric displacement current in the conductor and that the effect of propagation along the conductor is negligible, so that it is a plane-parallel quasi-stationary field. The obtained approximate numerical results were compared with the exact analytical ones and with results obtained by FEM and very good agreement was found. A massive tube filled with a nonlinear material in the magnetic sense, whose hysteresis loop is approximated by an ellipse, is considered in this paper.","PeriodicalId":150282,"journal":{"name":"2022 22nd International Symposium on Electrical Apparatus and Technologies (SIELA)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134428283","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Such protection can be realized in practice with the usage of autotransformer alternating regulators. The paper is related to a new type of analysis of an autotransformer discrete alternating voltage regulator, where the device is presented as a two-port. The main purpose of the present study is to determine the Z-parameters and the characteristic parameters of an autotransformer discrete alternating voltage regulator as a two-port with a load. A Matlab simulation model of the regulator with four levels of commutation realized with thyristor switches is used for the analysis. The non-linearities of the regulator's circuit have been considered in the model. The received simulation results were compared with experimental ones, which showed good adequacy of the model analysis. The obtained results could be used to improve methodologies for designing such devices, which would lead to improved energy efficiency of ship's electrical systems using autotransformer discrete alternating voltage regulators.","PeriodicalId":150282,"journal":{"name":"2022 22nd International Symposium on Electrical Apparatus and Technologies (SIELA)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115403962","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the main use-cases of smart technologies is precision farming the practice of enhancing the farmers ability of making decisions by adding a layer of artificial intelligence to machines. In order to do that, existing machines need to have means of obtaining data from various sensors or sources; also means of transmitting data to centralized data-centers where the information is analyzed by using algorithms for statistical analysis or artificial intelligence. In this goal, the traction converter is controlled by a dedicated strategy so it operates as boost rectifier. The main objective of the control strategy is to obtain a good power quality to the grid (unity power factor and low distortion of the current). The control strategy was implemented on the dSPACE DS1104 prototyping board and it corresponds to a cascade two loops control system: inner one that controls the grid current and extern one that controls the charging current. The correct implementation of the control algorithm was proved by the experimental results obtained on a specially designated stand. The experimental results show the very good performances of the entire system, respectively, the currents absorbed from the power grid have low harmonic distortion factor and the power factor has very close to the unity value.","PeriodicalId":150282,"journal":{"name":"2022 22nd International Symposium on Electrical Apparatus and Technologies (SIELA)","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122047308","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed scheme is suitable both for thermal, hybrid and electric city-buses and it is fully adaptable in regards to the geometries of the bus.
