Value capture is traditionally considered to relate to a competitive advantage at the firm level, but not the firm network level. However, the ever increasing role of information and knowledge in today's economy is profoundly changing how firms can create competitive advantages. Among these changes, we highlight reducing transaction costs in various areas of the economy, which drives the economy to organize more toward rapidly evolving networks or smaller firms. There is also an opposite trend for some internet firms to become larger due to economies of scale and due to network externalities. In this position paper, we examine the issue of value capture by firms that are increasingly small and operate in rapidly changing and evolving networks. We conclude by outlining future research on firm-level capabilities that are required to enable value capture in new forms of dynamic networks.","PeriodicalId":147180,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of 2013 IEEE International Conference on Service Operations and Logistics, and Informatics","volume":"73 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-09-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126209518","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the reasons is that FDA can not remain the geometric structure information of the sample space truly due to non-Gaussian and nonlinear structures characteristics of data in industrial process. In this paper, kernel local fisher discriminant analysis (KLFDA) is proposed to solve the problem. The proposed approach is applied to Tennessee Eastman process (TEP). The results demonstrate that KLFDA shows better fault diagnosis performance than conventional FDA.","PeriodicalId":147180,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of 2013 IEEE International Conference on Service Operations and Logistics, and Informatics","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-07-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116695404","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper argues the merits and shorts of four typical models at first, and then presents an integrated access control model-TRBAC which introduces the concept of task into RBAC model. We set up the specific structure of TRBAC and give detail definitions of the constraints in roles and tasks. Based on the TRBAC model, further study is made according to the actual requirements of access control in LMS (Logistics Management System). We establish the architecture of access control model in LMS and introduce several main functional modules. After that this paper emphatically describes how to design and implement the three major controllers including role controller, task controller and permission controller in LMS based on PaaS(Platform as a Service), with the system interfaces visually. In practical, with the combination of task and role, the TRBAC model associates the user with permission indirectly, makes the static and dynamic double control come true and assigns the permission according to the actual needs. The TRBAC model has achieved good results in the implementation of the practical application. It turns out that the model is reasonable and stable which has a practical significance and necessity.","PeriodicalId":147180,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of 2013 IEEE International Conference on Service Operations and Logistics, and Informatics","volume":"138 38","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-07-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120932257","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Firstly, it detects and collects the lamps and projects usage status through some devices, such as embedded sensors. Secondly, it analyzes the historical usage records of projectors and lamps and identifies several patterns for lamps and projector usage. Then, it clusters the control strategies for each pattern and determines the most popular used control strategy for each pattern. Finally, it updates and stores the most popular used strategy as optimal control strategy for execution. In order to verify its feasibility, efficiency and value, a prototype system and apparatus is proposed. And the experimental results prove it can help user to save power consumption and improve operation efficiency while using projectors.","PeriodicalId":147180,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of 2013 IEEE International Conference on Service Operations and Logistics, and Informatics","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-07-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128675130","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, improving picking efficiency is a critical benefit to distribution center operations. The study explores the condition of the lowest packaging costs and shortest travel distance in order to improve the order processing and picking efficiency. We propose an economical-packing order picking policy, which is an extending research of our previous researches, sequence order picking and batch picking for large numbers of small quantities in the B2C distribution center. A mathematic programming decision model is formed to minimize the remaining space of mailing boxes and the picking path of each order. A generic warehouse management system with the proposed order picking function has been conceptually implemented to demonstrate the elimination of storage buffers and the reduction of operation time.","PeriodicalId":147180,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of 2013 IEEE International Conference on Service Operations and Logistics, and Informatics","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-07-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121228651","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

From a sociology perspective, people who have the same point of views will have great probabilities and opportunities to aggression together. Monitoring these latent cyber organizations can help us understanding the tendency of social events. Naturally, individual will have his own opinions towards different objects, such as persons, events, organizations, or topics etc. We propose an effective framework to compute the individual's opinion towards certain multiple objects as his sentiment vector. Then, we detected latent cyber organizations based on the individuals' sentiment vector. To validate our approach, we illustrate the usefulness of our framework through an experiment in Sina microblog dataset, and the results demonstrate to be valuable.","PeriodicalId":147180,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of 2013 IEEE International Conference on Service Operations and Logistics, and Informatics","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-07-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114809785","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
