Extant literature reveals that almost 70% of the formulated strategies do not successfully get implemented by organisations for various reasons. Therefore, this paper reviewed literature on psychological factors affecting strategy implementation in organisations. The results of the review revealed employee motivation, commitment, competence, perception and attitudes as the main psychological variables which have an impact on strategy implementation in organisations. Thus, it demonstrated that psychological factors are also key determinants in any strategy implementation exercise in all organisations. It is, therefore recommended that, for a successful strategy implementation initiative in an organisation, psychological factors have to be considered.","PeriodicalId":145800,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Research in Commerce and Management Studies","volume":"78 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134151555","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The current study was therefore founded on the requirement to reduce the gap between ratepayers’ expectations and the performance of the corresponding local authorities in Zimbabwe. For this investigation, we used the search engines Scopus, Google Scholar and Web of Science (WoS). The review took into account empirical studies up until June 2022. Because the emphasis was on the performance of local governments, the initial search used variants of the terms ‘efficiency,’ ‘performance assessment,’ ‘local government,’ and ‘local authority.’ The databases produced more than 250 books, articles, and unpublished research papers when these keywords were used. We disregarded conference presentations and dissertations to reduce the overall number of results. The results were then qualitatively screened to make sure they answered the research topic. We ultimately collected 78 studies. The review provides a contextualized view of earlier research in discourses, techniques, and frameworks that draw attention to the difficulties local authorities have in performing their functions, with a focus on service delivery and strategic growth toward sustainable futures. As we go on with our empirical inquiry, the systematic review technique has been a helpful organised way to provide a preliminary source of knowledge in local authority performance assessment and more generally. Future research has a number of prospective directions that have been identified.","PeriodicalId":145800,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Research in Commerce and Management Studies","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114461145","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The ecological system in many countries is being impacted on by the operations of mining companies which have caused a lot of environmental degradation. The research reviewed literature on how strategy choice can impact environmental performance and an entity’s financial performance. The researchers used various scholarly articles from the internet, journals and books. The researchers established that there is a great misalignment between company strategy and environmental regulations. Mining companies are making use of unsafe mining techniques which affect the conservation of resources. Mining companies are channeling much effort towards maximizing shareholder returns at the expense of the ecological environment. The research recommended that the environmental regulators should develop legislative measures that impose strict penalties to mining companies which do not comply with environmental regulations. Also, the environmental regulating authorities should be given adequate funding for carrying out environmental monitoring sessions thoroughly.","PeriodicalId":145800,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Research in Commerce and Management Studies","volume":"109 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128393893","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study utilized descriptive qualitative research methodology in collecting relative information. A purposive sampling technique was utilized in determining the research participants. The researcher's primary data gathering tool is a Semi-Structured Interview (SSI). Additionally, the study used the thematic approach in the analysis and interpretation of data. Major findings of the study showed that environmental stressors such as unstable internet connection, family activities, and problems and isolation due to health protocols contribute to students' stress. Another stressor that triggers anxiety is the academic factors: modular distance learning – there is no face-to-face discussion, early submission of activities and assessments, lack of immediate response from instructors, and psychological stressor: lack of self-discipline. On the other hand, despite the existing stressors, students adopted task-oriented coping strategies like using two different networks and double data in case of unstable internet connection, observing time management, learning to adjust to the environment, and finding other ways to contact instructors. The second coping strategy used was emotion-oriented coping strategies such as self-realization, self-meditation, and self-motivation. Thus, the researchers affirm that the study's findings are similar to the transactional theory of Lazaro and Folkman that when the accountancy students faced challenges, they were stressed and negatively affected.","PeriodicalId":145800,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Research in Commerce and Management Studies","volume":"146 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134399014","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study revealed that rural banks were extensively practiced on social and economic; however, they were only sometimes practiced on the environmental aspects. These results indicate that rural banks look into their economic and social banking practices if they are sustainable and can be transformed into practices that will enable them to be sustainable over the long term.
