It is based on one dimensional (1-D) line segmentation and adaptive edge points matching, which can be divided into three steps. 1) A 1-D line growing based method is applied to obtain the edge points from the neighboring pixels of the lost areas. 2) The edge points will be adaptively matched in pairs and then connected to recover the lost edge information. 3) For each pixel in the lost areas, the neighboring intact pixels for interpolation will be searched by an up-down scanning procedure, after which the lost pixel will be interpolated using them. It has been shown that the proposed algorithm can recover the lost edge information efficiently. Compared with the existing algorithms, our proposed algorithm can achieve superior objective and subjective quality with even lower complexity.","PeriodicalId":143331,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE 11th International Conference on Signal Processing","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128457198","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, the effect of decision delay on the performance of MMSE-TH precoding systems is investigated over time invariant and Rayleigh fading channels, respectively. Based on the observation on the expression of the interference signal power, we propose a method of searching for the optimum decision delay to minimize the interference signal power. Moreover, the complexity of the proposed method has also been analyzed. Computer simulation shows that the system bit error ratio (BER) varies with different decision delay, and less interference signal power renders smaller BER. The results imply that we can find the optimal decision delay by the proposed method and configure it in MMSE-TH system in advance, so that the BER can achieve the minimum.","PeriodicalId":143331,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE 11th International Conference on Signal Processing","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128273116","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Since different scenarios during their journeys tend to evoke a wide range of moods, how to infer the driver's emotional state as well as cause a warning is the primary means to reduce mood swings. This paper proposes a mood recognition method. Specially, the 1 / ƒ fluctuation is the main measurement of Electroencephalography (EEG) which is a useful tool to analyze human emotional states. The HSV space has strong association with mood model. Therefore, this paper calculates the slopes of the power spectra on HSV as the affective characteristics of natural scenes. And then the K-nearest neighbor (KNN) classifier is used to differentiate the various mood categories based on the affective characteristics. We show results for the proposed approach on the International Affective Picture System (IAPS), a standard mood evoking image set in psychology. The promising results demonstrate that the effectiveness of affective representation to model the mood content of natural scenes.","PeriodicalId":143331,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE 11th International Conference on Signal Processing","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129251119","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

First, a new computationally efficient cross-correlation based 2-D DOA estimation with automatic pair-matching (CODEC) batch method is developed for noncoherent narrowband signals, where the computationally expensive procedures of eigendecomposition in subspace estimation and pair-matching of the estimated azimuth and elevation angles are avoided. Then a new 2-D DOA tracking algorithm is proposed, the association of the estimated azimuth and elevation angles at two successive time instants is accomplished by employing a dynamic mode and the Luenberger state observer. The simulation results show that the proposed tracking algorithm has good adaptability and tracking capability.","PeriodicalId":143331,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE 11th International Conference on Signal Processing","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123857257","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the design of efficient DSP software for MPSoC platforms involves complex inter-related steps, including data decomposition, memory management, and inter-task and inter-thread synchronization. These design steps are challenging, especially under strict constraints on performance and power consumption, and tight time to market pressures. To facilitate these steps, we have developed a new dataflow based design flow within the targeted dataflow interchange format (TDIF) design tool. Our new MPSoC-oriented design flow, called TDIF-PPG, is geared towards analysis and mapping of embedded DSP applications on MPSoCs. An important feature of TDIF-PPG is its capability to integrate graph level parallelism for DSP system flowgraphs and actor level parallelism for DSP functional modules into the application mapping processing. Here, graph level parallelism is exposed by the dataflow graph application representation in TDIF, and actor level parallelism is modeled by a novel model for multiprocessor dataflow graph implementation that we call the parallel processing group (PPG) model. We demonstrate our approach through actor and subsystem design for software defined radio.","PeriodicalId":143331,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE 11th International Conference on Signal Processing","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123992832","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, it was designed mainly for gray-level images. Many Objects cannot be distinguished if their color contents are ignored. In addition, SIFT greatly depend on the main orientation assignment, and about one third of orientations are assigned with a big error. Thus many corresponding points are mismatched. This paper addresses these two problems and proposes a local feature descriptor with color and geometric invariance. In this method, the image is transformed into the Gaussian color space to construct the color invariant variable for detecting key points. And then the computation of canonical orientation of key point in the feature descriptor is substituted by the relative gradient direction around the candidate key points which reduces the accumulated orientation error. The pixel gradient and orientation around the extracted key points are computed to build the local gradient orientation histogram to describe the features. The results on the Amsterdam Library of Object Images dataset and 3D objects have shown that the proposed descriptor is better than SIFT and CSIFT.","PeriodicalId":143331,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE 11th International Conference on Signal Processing","volume":"64 2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123534680","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the past, ISAR techniques with LFM pulsed signal has been studied deeply. Now, because of the requirement of low-cost, low weight and low powered, LFMCW signal is used in ISAR. This paper has investigated the imaging method of LFMCW ISAR. The problem of ISAR image formation using LFMCW ISAR has been studied in detail. Analyzing indicates that the echoes exist two dimensional coupling. Using the traditional RDA used in LFM pulsed ISAR for these data from LFMCW ISAR will produce position distortion. In order to correct this distortion, a new imaging method—azimuth interpolation RDA is presented. Simulation shows that the presented method is very effective.","PeriodicalId":143331,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE 11th International Conference on Signal Processing","volume":"44 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123637973","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

At edges, however, the dimension is underestimated, because edges add a deterministic component to the surface which is not assumed to be presented for the purpose of calculation of the fractal dimension. Thus, the local degree of ‘fractality’ is used to differentiate the regions-of-interest (ROI) from the clutter background. Then, the warship is detected based on indiscemibility relation of Rough sets (RS) theory and is recognized based on the geometric characters of warship. Experiments on the image tracker based on TMS320C6416 were conducted, and the results demonstrated that the approach performs well in automatic recognition accuracy and computational efficiency.","PeriodicalId":143331,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE 11th International Conference on Signal Processing","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123678936","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
