The morbidity of the organs can be revealed from the face color. The cheeks contain abundant capillaries and have less interference with the noise, such as hair and beard, so they are considered as the important region to reflect the face color. A cheek region extraction method for face diagnosis of TCM is proposed in this paper. First, the face region is extracted from the original image which is captured by the tongue image analysis instrument for TCM. Then the face region image is rotated according to the eye positions to put straight the image. The lip chrome region is extracted using Fisher classifier, in which the lip chrome region will be binarized to position the mouth corner. Finally, based on the geometric structure of the face, the skin block center is determined to extract the cheek region automatically. The experimental result shows that the proposed method can achieve higher segmentation accuracy.","PeriodicalId":143331,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE 11th International Conference on Signal Processing","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115889064","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Their advantages and disadvantages are analyzed with examples respectively in this paper, and then time-frequency image features are analyzed. By introducing edge detection and ridge extraction methods in image processing, a new method of cross-terms suppression based on image feature matching is proposed to deal with time-frequency image of Gabor transform and Wigner-Ville distribution. For multi-component signal, theoretical analysis and simulation of time-frequency distribution methods of cross-terms suppression show that, this novel method can effectively suppress cross terms at the same time maintain Wigner distribution's time-frequency concentration.","PeriodicalId":143331,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE 11th International Conference on Signal Processing","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124459062","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

What's more, based on the analysis of the ship and the common false alarm scattering mechanism differences, the effective polarization characteristics are extracted, and the basic probability assignment method based on the polarization characteristics are provided. The paper gets the ultimate identification results by fusing the identification results of different characteristics based on D-S evidence theory. Moreover, making use of the measured data accessed by NASA/JPL SIR-C system, this new discrimination method is verified. The experimental results show that this method can effectively remove the strong scattering false alarms caused by the sea and other non-ship targets, which proves that it is a kind of effective ship discrimination method.","PeriodicalId":143331,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE 11th International Conference on Signal Processing","volume":"97 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122661766","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The image of behind-the-wall targets will defocus and misplace when neglecting the effect of walls. Cognitive imaging is a recently proposed concept, which is integrated with environment sensing capability and thus suitable for TWI. In this paper, a novel method is proposed to estimate the wall parameters, width and permittivity, to build the environmental model for cognitive imaging of behind-the-wall targets. Firstly, a forward model of electromagnetic wave propagation in a homogeneous wall is developed. Based on the forward model, the estimation of wall parameters is modeled as a least square problem and can be solved efficiently. The simulation data of the finite-difference time-domain method are used to validate our proposed method.","PeriodicalId":143331,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE 11th International Conference on Signal Processing","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124290788","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this case, there are four filters for the target tracking: the Kalman filter with unbiased converted measurements (UCMKF), the extended Kalman filter (EKF), the unscented Kalman filter (UKF), and the cubature Kalman filter (CKF). A comparison of the UCMKF with the EKF shows that the UCMKF provides better estimation accuracy than the EKF, while the comparisons of the EKF, the UKF and the CKF show that the CKF provides the best performance for the target tracking among them. The UCMKF or the CKF, which one is better in the performance is a problem to be researched. To do this, a CKF for a nonlinear observation is proposed in which the three-degree spherical-radial rule is applied to solving the nonlinearity in the observation equation. The performance comparison between the UCMKF and the CKF has been done by simulations, which shows that the CKF provides better tracking performance than the UCMKF.","PeriodicalId":143331,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE 11th International Conference on Signal Processing","volume":"93 1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126132320","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposed channelized receiver, which consists of a subband decomposition section, an analysis section and a synthesis section, is capable of extracting channels of nonuniform bandwidths corresponding to multiple different signals from the digitized wideband input signal, especially when a large number of channels are extracted. The proposed architecture is less complex and can offer reconfiguration compared with conventional approaches. The computational complexity of the proposed channelized receiver is reduced significantly due to the implementation of the polyphase filter bank decomposition, and therefore the proposed architecture can be easily realized. Theory analysis and simulation results verify the validity of the new method.","PeriodicalId":143331,"journal":{"name":"2012 IEEE 11th International Conference on Signal Processing","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129659701","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
