Although improvement in short term graft patency has been achieved, delayed graft function (DGF) is one of the important complications following kidney transplantation. DGF results from ischemia-reperfusion injury and involves a multitude of contributing elements including donor characteristics and etiology of the end-stage renal disease. The neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio (NLR) and platelet-lymphocyte ratio (PLR) are easily applicable methods for evaluation of systemic inflammation. We hypothesized that these parameters could refine the detection of the patients with DGF in post- renal transplantation and guide management. To test our hypothesis, we investigated whether the NLR, PLR, and creatinine reduction ratio CRR could serve as prognostic indicators for identifying patient cohorts at an elevated risk of negative treatment outcomes following renal transplantation. We also assessed demographic and clinical factors as an independent predictor to detect negative early graft function outcomes in patients after renal transplantation. This single center retrospective cohort trial comprising 55 patients who received a kidney graft from deceased or living donors was performed in Northern Cyprus Ministry of Health’s Dr. Burhan Nalbantoglu State Hospital, over a 6 year period. The demographic and clinical variables included age, gender, body mass index, the etiology of end-stage renal disease, kidney graft from living or deceased donors, NLR, PLR and CRR. DGF was defined as GFR<60 on the 21th day following renal transplantation. Of the patients included in this study, 26 (47.3%) and 29 (52.7%) received deceased and living donor kidney transplantation, respectively. On the 21st day following transplantation, 27 patients (49%) had an eGFR<60, whereas 28 patients (51%) had an GFR≥60. None of the patients had undergone dialysis within the first week after transplantation. There were no significant differences in demographic and clinical characteristics between the patients with eGFR 60 and eGFR 60. In logistic regression analysis, none of the predictors including etiology of the end-stage renal disease, source of donor, or demographic baseline characteristic were associated with DGF. We suggest that the NLR and PLR parameters are not associated with the presence of DGF after renal transplantation. Though adjustment disorder is a very common phenomenon, its diagnosis is quite difficult. Thus, making it a rare clinical picture. Since it is difficult to diagnose, it warrants more study on the matter and in-depth research into the different effective and innovative treatment modalities available. Few studies have shown higher evidence in younger adults as a result of sustained exposure to abnormal posture, which increases the risk of musculoskeletal disorders. This intervention aims on the restoration of the muscle imbalance and to reduce pain and increase range of motion. Objective: To study the effect of Scapular Stabilization Exercises with and without Thoracic Mobilization on neck pain and range of motion in Upper Cross Syndrome in young adults. Method: This is a comparative study where 70 subjects were selected as per inclusion and exclusion criteria and assigned to group A (n=35; Exercise group) and group B (n=35; Exercise with Mobilization group) respectively. Scapular stabilization exercises were given to both the groups. The intervention was given for 4 days/week for 4 weeks. Pain and Range of Motion was assessed pre and post intervention using VAS and Goniometer. The data was collected and statistically analysed. Results: Both groups showed (p<0.001) differences in all outcome measures between pre-test and post-test values of Group A and Group B. Results of this study indicated that after 4 weeks of upper thoracic mobilization in addition to scapular stabilization exercises, the Cervical ROM significantly increased in comparison to the scapular stabilization exercise group which in terms of flexion, extension, left and right lateral flexion, and left and right rotation. Conclusion: The study concludes that Thoracic Mobilization along with Scapular Stabilization exercises had a significant effect in reducing pain, increasing flexion, extension, lateral flexion, and rotation range of motion as compared to Scapular stabilization exercises only. It encompasses the position and alignment of the feet and ankles, significantly impacting overall body stability and reducing the risk of falls. Dynamic balance refers to maintaining balance while in motion, encompassing walking, running, and jumping. Aim: To find a correlation between foot posture, dynamic balance and gait speed in community-dwelling older individuals. Materials and Methods: The correlational study included 100 community-dwelling older individuals who met the specified inclusion and exclusion criteria. The Foot Posture Index was utilised as the outcome measure for foot posture, the Modified Four-Square Step Test (MFSST) for dynamic balance, and the Gait Speed Test for gait speed assessment. Results: The results revealed a weak positive correlation between gait speed and foot posture, with a statistically significant weak positive correlation observed in individuals with normal foot posture. In contrast, a statistically significant moderate positive correlation was found between gait speed, dynamic balance, and pronated foot posture (r= 0.63, P < 0.05). Furthermore, a weak negative correlation was observed between gait speed and supinated foot posture, with a statistically significant moderate negative correlation between dynamic balance and supinated foot posture. Conclusion: Pronated foot posture demonstrated a stronger association with gait speed and dynamic balance than supinated and normal foot posture. These findings suggest that older adults with pronated foot posture experience greater effects on gait speed and dynamic balance.
