Održivi razvoj označava razvojne procese koji kombiniraju ekonomsku i socijalnu dobrobit i učinkovitost s ekološkom otpornošću i zdravljem, kako ovdje i sada, tako i drugdje, i u budućnosti. Cilj istraživanja bio je ispitati studentsku samoprocjenu socijalne kompetentnosti. U istraživanju je sudjelovalo 127 studenata Učiteljskog fakulteta u Rijeci. Konstruirana je i validirana Skala samoprocjene socijalnih kompetencija u kontekstu održivog razvoja. Analizom skale utvrđena su tri faktora – Usmjerenost na cilj, Samoizražavanje i Globalne kompetencije. Rezultati istraživanja ukazuju na zadovoljavajuću primjenjivost konstruiranih skala, ali kako je riječ o preliminarnom istraživanju, ove zaključke iznosimo s oprezom. Utvrđena je umjerena do visoka samoprocjena studentskih socijalnih kompetencija. Sustainable development refers to development processes combining economic and social well-being and efficiency with environmental resilience and health, both here, now, elsewhere, and in the future. Aim of the research was to examine students’ self-assessment of social competence. A total of 127 students of the Faculty of Teacher Education in Rijeka participated in the research. A Scale of self-assessment of social competencies in the context of sustainable development was also constructed and validated. The analysis of scale identified three factors – Goal Orientation, Self-Expression and Global Competences. The results of the research indicate satisfactory applicability of the constructed scales, but as this is preliminary research, therefore these conclusions should be handled with caution. The self-assessment of student social competencies was found to be from moderate to high. Svako povijesno razdoblje stvara interpretativan okvir odgoja djece. Tumačenja odgojno-obrazovnih koncepata zavisna su od političko-ekonomsko-gospodarskog konteksta življenja zajednice, opće filozofije koja se društveno zagovara i značajki razvoja raznih znanstvenih disciplina. Uvažavajući društveni kontekst, pedagoška paradigma konceptualizira se stvarajući autentične znanstvene spoznaje i prihvaćajući saznanja komplementarnih znanosti. Radom se razmatraju sličnosti i razlike tradicionalne i suvremene pedagoške paradigme vezane uz kontekst ranog i predškolskog odgoja. Također se izdvajaju znanstvene pretpostavke, polazišta i istraživanja disciplina s kojima suvremena odgojno-obrazovna paradigma dijeli isti predmet interesa, a pomoću kojih osmišljava i na temelju kojih zastupa svoj odgojno-obrazovni pristup. Problematizira se način implementacije suvremenih odgojno-obrazovnih koncepata u praksu ranog i predškolskog odgoja i obrazovanja. As a part of the research, a general data ques[1]tionnaire and an assessment scale for testing preferences for musical fragments were administered to the sample of 183 students in fourth and eighth grades of primary school and senior students attending grammar school. Students gener[1]ally show greatest preferences for world music. The influence of age on the pref[1]erences for 20th century music and world music has been confirmed. Female students, compared to male students, show greater preferences for 20th century music, while in the case of world music, no statistically significant differences were observed with respect to gender. It has been confirmed that students show greater preferences for familiar music, compared to unfamiliar music. Suvremeno društvo, zainteresirano da znanjem unaprijedi svoj gospodarski sustav, upućuje specifičan interes odgoju i obrazovanju pojedinaca. Suvremeni pedagoški koncept društva znanja zasniva se na teoriji učenja – konstruktivizmu. U skladu s time, dijete je dominantno shvaćeno kao ono koje uči uspostavljajući pritom partnerske odnose s odraslima. Djetetu se upućuje specifična odgovornost za vlastitu razvojnu dobrobit, ono se adultizira. Suvremen pristup djetetu, koji se zasniva na sociološkom konceptu njegovih prava, zanemaruje stajališta psihološkog diskursa kojim se razmatraju njegove razvojne potrebe, što se posljedično reflektira na karakter suvremenog odgojnog odnosa i dovodi do krize odgoja. Ovim se radom razmatra specifičan utjecaj suvremenih pedagoških polazišta, poput primjerice onog o ravnopravnom partnerstvu djeteta i odgojitelja, djetetu kao autonomnom subjektu ili prostoru kao trećem odgojitelju, na pojedine aspekte razvoja adultizirano shvaćenog djeteta rane i predškolske dobi. {"title":"Traditional paradigm and progressivism of contemporary paradigm in early and preschool education","authors":"Ž. Each historical period creates an interpretative framework for children upbringing. Interpretations of educational concepts depend on the political-economic context of community life, general philosophy advocated by society, and the characteristics of development of various scientific disciplines. Taking into account the social context, pedagogical paradigm is conceptualized by creating authentic scientific knowledge and accepting the knowledge of complementary sciences. This paper discusses similarities and differences between traditional and contemporary pedagogical paradigms in relation to the context of early and preschool education. It also highlights scientific assumptions, starting points and studies of the disciplines with which the contemporary educational paradigm shares the same subject of interest, and through which it conceives and underpins its educational approach. It also problematizes introduction of contemporary educational concepts into practice of early and preschool education. Preduvjet su za to zakonske regulative za odgoj i obrazovanje djece s posebnim odgojno-obrazovnim potrebama koje se kontinuirano ažuriraju u skladu sa suvremenim znanstvenim spoznajama. Cilj je ovog istraživanja bio utvrditi razlike u zakonskom reguliranju odgoja i obrazovanja djece s posebnim odgojno-obrazovnim potrebama na vertikalnoj i/ili horizontalnoj razini. Na vertikalnoj razini uspoređuju se dva podsustava: a) rani i predškolski te b) školski – osnovnoškolski i srednjoškolski. S druge strane, na horizontalnoj razini uspoređuju se dvije podskupine: djeca i učenici s teškoćama u razvoju te darovita djeca i učenici. S tom je namjerom u istraživanju provedena kvalitativna komparativna analiza primarnih izvora podataka u zakonskim aktima koji reguliraju odgoj i obrazovanje djece s posebnim potrebama u Republici Hrvatskoj. Analizom je utvrđena bolja reguliranost školskog odgojno-obrazovnog sustava u odnosu na rani i predškolski te bolja reguliranost akata koji se tiču djece i učenika s teškoćama u razvoju u odnosu na darovite. {"title":"The application of critical thinking in matriculation examination papers in the subject of biology","authors":"Tania Žuvela Blažević, Marijana Blažević","doi":"10.38003/sv.71.1.7","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.38003/sv.71.1.7","url":null,"abstract":"Recent reforms in the Croatian national educational system due to the Republic of Croatia’s accession to the European Union have as one focus to raise the level of critical thinking required by students. An important component of national education is the high stakes matriculation or ‘matura’ examinations. A study was made of biology examinations in both the countries of Australia and the Republic of Croatia. The comparison aimed to determine the level of critical thinking demanded based on the questions in the examination. This analysis of examination questions relied on the presumption of consequential validity of high stakes examinations; matriculation papers, where, if demanded by the examination, students will adopt certain skills, in this case, critical thinking. A hierarchical critical thinking taxonomy was subsequently developed based on similar taxonomies in existing literature to research the questions in the matriculation examination papers of biology in Australia and the Republic of Croatia respectively. It also considers the presence of the entropy-balancing principle of an open system ̶ the exchange of energy and information with the environment, in their dominant characteristics. It also specifies the features of liberal societies in concrete terms, and with regard to them, determines justification of their characterization as an open organization. The work discusses the way in which an individual is psychologically formed in a liberal social environment.
