The important and active role of a student in class is emphasized, but also the importance of teacher’s role as the person who shapes the learning environment and who organizes the teaching process. The teacher’s educational philosophy and their beliefs in the background have a great impact on their teaching practice and their actions during class. But there are still discrepancies in definition, identification and classification of educational philosophies. {"title":"Doprinos temperamenta i roditeljskog ponašanja razvojnim ishodima djece predškolske dobi","authors":"Tina Božiković, Ina Reić Ercegovac, Katija Kalebić Jakupčević","doi":"10.38003/sv.69.2.11","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.38003/sv.69.2.11","url":null,"abstract":"Cilj ovoga istraživanja bio je ispitati pridonose li dimenzije roditeljskog ponašajnog stila objašnjenju razvojnih obilježja djece predškolske dobi i povrh dječjih temperamentalnih značajki. U istraživanju su sudjelovala 194 roditelja jednog djeteta predškolske dobi, od čega 95.36 % majki. Primijenjeni su Upitnik temperamenta EASI, Multidimenzijski upitnik roditeljstva i Upitnik za procjenu razvoja djeteta predškolske dobi. Rezultati su uputili na značajnu povezanost između dimenzija temperamenta prema modelu EASI (emocionalnost, aktivnost, socijabilnost i impulzivnost), funkcionalnih razvojnih obilježja djeteta i nekih dimenzija roditeljstva. Nisu utvrđene znatne razlike u procjenama temperamentalnih obilježja i razvojnih ishoda između dječaka i djevojčica. Rezultati regresijskih analiza pokazali su da je procjenama temperamentalnih dimenzija moguće objasniti visokih 56 % – 74 % varijance razvojnih ishoda djece predškolske dobi, ali i da dimenzije roditeljskog ponašanja dodatno ne pridonose objašnjenju varijance razvojnih obilježja djece uz kontrolu temperamenta. Cilj istraživanja bio je ispitati zastupljenost ishoda učenja o ljudskim pravima na navedenim studijima s posebnim osvrtom na dječja prava, dječju participaciju te koncept djeteta kao aktivnoga građanina, uobičajenima u diskursu suvremene paradigme djetinjstva. Istraživanje je provedeno mješovitom metodom te je primijenjena triangulacija s trima različitim izvorima ispitanika: anketa sa sveučilišnim nastavnicima, intervjui s predstavnicima studijskih programa te anketa sa studentima, pri čemu su se svi tipovi podataka u analizi tretirali kao ravnopravni. {"title":"Stupanj razumijevanja Newtonove mehanike kod budućih studenata","authors":"Mirko Marušić, Irena Mišurac","doi":"10.38003/sv.72.1.5","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.38003/sv.72.1.5","url":null,"abstract":"Ovaj rad predstavlja rezultate šestogodišnjeg projekta čiji je jedan od ciljeva bio promotriti s kojim konceptualnim razumijevanjem Newtonove mehanike učenici upisuju preddiplomske studije na kojima od samog početka studiraju fizikalne kolegije. Kao primjer takvih studijskih programa, istraživanjem je obuhvaćeno 977 studenata prve godine sveučilišnih studija: Farmacija (N = 152); Kemija i kemijska tehnologija (N=563); Prehrambena tehnologija (N=123) i stručnog studija Zaštita i oporaba materijala (N=139). Mjerni instrument korišten za procjenu studentskoga stupnja znanja Newtonove mehanike je Force Concept Inventory (FCI test). Kod svi nastavnih programa promatranih preddiplomskih studija fizikalni kolegiji temeljni su kolegiji i stoga zahtijevaju značajan angažman i studentsko znanje kako bi se uspješno savladali. Rezultati pokazuju da upisani studenti dolaze s izuzetno slabim znanjem Newtonove mehanike na promatrane studije. Kod studenata preddiplomskog studija Faramacija 9,9 % studenata je na razini Newtonovskog razmišljanja; kod preddiplomskog studija Kemija i kemijska tehnologija njih 0,9 %, kod preddiplomskog studija Prehrambena tehnologija 4%, dok kod preddiplomskog stručnog studija Zaštita i oporaba materijala nema upisanih studenata koji su usvojili Newtonovu mehaniku. The aim of the research was to examine the representation of human rights learning outcomes in these studies, with a special emphasis on children’s rights, children’s participation, and the concept of the child as an active citizen, common in the discourse of the contemporary childhood paradigm. The research was conducted by using the mixed methods approach. Triangulation with three different sources of respondents was applied: a survey with university teachers, interviews with representatives of study programs, and a survey with students, where all types of data in the analysis were treated as equal. Cilj je ovoga rada analizirati kontradiktorna očekivanja kojima su pedagozi u procesu suradnje obitelji, škole i lokalne zajednice izloženi. Konkretnije, nakon analize nesklada između teorijskih i zakonskih artikulacija suradnje s lokalnom zajednicom i praktičnih ograničenja koja se u implementaciji tih artikulacija javljaju, u radu se razmatra odgovornost pedagoga za prepoznavanje specifičnih potreba obitelji u suradnji s lokalnom zajednicom spram sanacijsko-deficitnoga percipiranja obitelji koje je pritom lako demonstrirati, kao i imperativnost teorijskih zahtjeva za tijesnim povezivanjem obitelji, škole i lokalne zajednice spram menadžersko-koordinacijske uloge koju pedagozi pritom, uslijed kontekstualnih ograničenja, mogu preuzeti na sebe. Social expectations of teachers are constantly growing. Therefore, teachers strive to improve their characteristics and competencies. In that respect, it is important to know which personality traits and competencies society expects from a good teacher. Guided by that, this paper aims to comprehensively present a good teacher, considering his or her desirable personality traits, professional competencies and perceptions of participants in the educational process. The results of the review of relevant literature and previous research indicate that a good teacher shows a combination of personality traits such as humanity, wisdom, prudence, perseverance, etc. and competencies such as achieving positive relationships with students, successful classroom management, recognizing the importance of motivation and others.Finally, a good teacher is a combination of desirable personality traits and permanent professional growth. The analysis was conducted to compare figurative meanings of the lexeme “face” in English with their Croatian equivalents in order to support the claim that the meanings are motivated by conceptual metaphor, general conventional knowledge and metonymy across languages. The total of examples provides a basis for some generalizations to be made regarding similarities and differences between the realizations of abstract concepts which can be used in teaching lexis in English as a foreign language. The occupation is well chosen if it is in accordance with students’ abilities, affinities, labor market requirements, and the family circumstances in which the student lives. This decision affects the overall future life of the student, defines them and directs them to a certain path. This paper presents the results of the research on the interconnection between socioeconomic conditions of the family, the values that are encouraged in the family and students’ opinions on the factors influencing the choice of occupation and choice of high school. The research was conducted on a sample of 163 students from the first to the third grade of a three-year vocational school. The research results show that 63.73% of parents enrolled in three-year vocational school have completed secondary school, and 21.57% of them have completed primary school. A total of 66.67% of parents are employed, and 60.74% of students live with both parents. {"title":"Stavovi i razmišljanja učenika o prirodnoj i kulturnoj baštini","authors":"Dubravka Kuščević","doi":"10.38003/sv.70.2.7","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.38003/sv.70.2.7","url":null,"abstract":"Kulturna i prirodna baština bogatstvo je naroda kojemu pripada te jedan od ključnih elemenata za stvaranje nacionalnoga kulturnog identiteta i afirmacije u procesu globalizacije društva. Cilj istraživanja bio je ispitati stavove, informiranost i razmišljanja učenika osnovnih i srednjih škola o prirodnoj i kulturnoj baštini. U istraživanju je sudjelovalo 322 ispitanika iz osnovnih i srednjih škola Splitsko-dalmatinske, Šibensko-kninske i Zagrebačke županije. Analiza rezultata ukazuje na to da učenici srednjih škola iskazuju bolje poznavanje kulturne i prirodne baštine zavičaja te viši stupanj zainteresiranosti za upoznavanje tih sadržaja nego učenici završnih razreda osnovne škole. Također, više prepoznaju vrijednost pridavanja značaja tim temama u okviru rada odgojno-obrazovnih ustanova i u okviru različitih nastavnih predmeta. Usto, srednjoškolci izražavaju veću svijest o važnosti očuvanja kulturne baštine te njezine povezanosti s razvojem gospodarstva i očuvanjem nacionalnog identiteta nego učenici osnovnih škola.
