The IR spectra showedthat the trimethoprim coordinated as a monodentate ligand coordinating to the metal ions via the pyrimidine N(1), metformin acts as a bidentate ligand coordinating through the iminonitrogens. The infrared spectra bands at 450 cm -1 and 530 cm -1 is ascribed to M –N and M –O bond respectively indicating the formation of these complexes. The magnetic moment data showed that all the complexes were paramagnetic with values ranging from 1.39 to 6.0 B.M, except [Zn(TMP)(MET)(H2O)Cl2] which was diamagnetic. The conductivity results revealed that all the synthesised complexes were non-electrolytes, while the antibacterial studies of the mixed ligand complexes displayed moderate antimicrobial activity in comparison with the free ligands.","PeriodicalId":13853,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of ChemTech Research","volume":"7 1","pages":"38-46"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"89095308","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the present work simulations on multi-layered thin films have been conducted using code software with Mo and Was functional layer in combination with bond layer and protective layers of Si3N4 and Al2O3. The better combination is selected for optimization on thickness for absorption and reflection. To simplify experimentation, Taguchi‟s design of experiments approach was adopted to determine the optimum material layer combination.The results indicate for multi-layered thin films that combination of Al2O3-Mo-Al2O3 has better reflectance of 50.48% and combination Si3N4-W-Si3N4 has better absorptance of 74.81% upon optimization on thickness of bond layers, functional and protective layers. These results are discussed on main effect plots, contour plots and surface plots.","PeriodicalId":13853,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of ChemTech Research","volume":"11 1","pages":"364-373"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"89983649","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the main components in wax coating is an emulsifier that functions to form products. Vegetable oils have the potential to be the source of materials for production of lecithin. Rice bran oil contains 1.0 – 2.0% phosphatidate gum, which is used in crude lecithin production. This study aimed to isolate lecithin from crude rice bran oil, characterize the isolate, and determine the effects of lecithin concentrations as an emulsifier on the characteristics of beeswax coating. The variables consisted of the lecithin concentrations (%) of 0, 0.25, 0.5, 0,75, and 1 in the beeswax coating formulation. The procedures are extracting crude rice bran oil, isolating lecithin from the oil, characterizing the lecithin isolate, mixing rice bran and soy lecithin, and incorporating the lecithin mixture in beeswax coating formulation at different concentrations mentioned above. The rice bran and soy lecithin mixture, at the ratio of 1:6 and to be used as an emulsifier, was analyzed for Creamy Index (%) and HLB. The beeswax coating preparations, containing different concentrations of emulsifier, were analyzed for visual appearance, pH, density, and viscosity. The yield of crude rice bran oil 9.989%. The lecithin isolate 1.1% and contained phospholipid based on the FT-IR spectroscopy. The rice bran-soy lecithin mixture exhibited 19.4% Creamy Index and 8.29 HLB. The analyses of beeswax formulations showed increasing trends on all parameters tested as the result of increasing concentrations of emulsifier.","PeriodicalId":13853,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of ChemTech Research","volume":"24 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"82436479","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The part of cocoa trees that can be found in abundance is the leaf. The leaves cut out of cocoa trees are utilized by some farmers in composting, when in fact cocoa leaves have a great potential to be processed into health care products. The present study aims to determine the effect of high altitude landscape on antibacterial activities in ethanolic extract of cocoa leaves (Theobroma cacao, L). For the experiment, we employed a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) that is divided into 3 treatments—Aqua Dest (Control), ethanolic extract of high-altitude cocoa leaves (P1), and ethanolic extract of low-altitude cocoa leaves (P2)—repeated 5 times. The results show that the largest resistance zones of Eschericia coli and staphylococcus aureus are created by ethanolic extract of high-altitude cocoa leaves with the size of 19.96 mm and 20.52 mm, respectively. Our ANOVA test shows that extracts of both highand low-altitude cocoa leaves have an effect on the growth of S.aureus (P = 0,000) and E. coli (P = 0,000) bacteria. From Duncan’s test we can conclude that ethanolic extract of high-altitude cocoa leaves differs significantly (P<0.05) from its lower altitude counterpart in inhibiting the growth of E.coli and S.aureus bacteria.","PeriodicalId":13853,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of ChemTech Research","volume":"21 1","pages":"242-246"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78352963","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
