The study used a randomized block design (RBD). Determination of clove gardens and clove trees using the purposive sampling method, namely by selecting clove trees that have clove stem borer holes that are still active. Data analysis of the results of the study used statistical analysi of the SPSS program Ver. 21. Research results show that microbial insecticides can be used to control H. semivelutina in clove (Eugenia aromatica) plants. M. anisopliae was effective in controlling H. semivelutina. Histone deacetylase removes acetyl group of lysine residue on histone proteinthis makes negatively charged histone able to bind with DNA containing positive centers. In this way DNA remain in compact form with histone proteins. Therefore the transcription or replication enzymes and cofactors not able to bind such compact DNA structure. Histone deacetylase inhibition results into inhibition of various transcription activities which may get accelerated during cancer development. The aim of proposed study is to develop effective isoform selective Histone deacetylase inhibitor. Synthesis of N-(2-Aminophenyl)-3-Quinolin-4-yl-Prop-2-Enamide derivatives from isatin and its derivatives was achieved. Synthesis was carried out in two steps with good yield. 21 Compounds were synthesized and found to be effective with IC50s in between 3.694 - 38.4µmol in human HCT-116, COLO 205 and COLO 320 DM colon cancer cells in vitro. For the cytotoxicity activity study MTT assay method was adopted. Docking studies were performed initially with HDAC8 enzyme using V-life MDS software for synthesized compounds and had selected best fit molecules for synthesis. Lepa","doi":"10.20902/ijctr.2019.130116","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.20902/ijctr.2019.130116","url":null,"abstract":"Transesterification of palm oil into biodiesel has been done using modified clay catalyst.The modified clay catalyst was synthesized by destructing the clay with 8M HCl solution, then fusion by NaOH pellet (NaOH/clayratio = 0.8), followed by treating with AlCl3.6H2O, CTAB and distilled water.Then the mixture was regulated to pH of 11.5. Next, the mixture was then poured into a reactor for hydrothermal process at 140 o C for 48 h. The results of the dealumination of clay was characterized byX-ray Fluorescence and the synthesized zeolite was characterized using surface area analyzer and X-Ray Diffraction. The transesterification of palm oil (PO) process was carried out in the variation of temperatures of 55 and 65 o C.Ratio of catalyst :PO : methanol was 1.0 : 20.0 : 13.3and reaction time was 6h. The liquid product was analyzed using Gas Chromatography Mass Spectrometer. The resulted showed that the dealumination of clay had Si content of 34.77 % and Al of 5.67 %. The modified clay (MC) had surface area of 5.5685 m 2 /g, pore volume of 0.0126 cm 3 /g, and pore diameter of 8.871 nm. The results of measurements with XRD produced a different form of chromatogram and type of mineral. The main mineral was gismondine.In this research, the transesterification reaction of PO at a temperature of 55 °Cusing MC catalyst without THF resulted methyl esters (biodiesel)of 41.5 wt%. This gene expression is controlled by complex interactions of transcriptions factors and its regulatory elements in a specific manner. Disturbed beta globin genes may result in hemoglobinopathies, mainly sickle cell disease and beta thalassemia. It seems interesting that several mutations occurring in intronic region results in severe symptoms to beta thalassemia patients, such an IVS1nt5 G>C. This research aimed to analyze RNA structural alteration effected by intronic mutation of beta thalassemia. Methods: The most prevalent mutation of beta thalassemia in Indonesia was obtained from Ithanet. The RNA secondary structure of IVS1nt5 G>C and beta globin gen (HBB) wildtype were performed by RNAStructure, along with probknot prediction. Results: The result showed that intronic mutation caused conformational change in beta globin secondary structure, either for max expect or base pairing probability approach. The mutant had bigger and more loops that diminished the protein stability. Thus, the structure might undergo dysfunction. The study uses a completely randomized design with precipitation method based on solvent, there is distilled water, 5% salt solution, alkaline solution (NaOH 0,5 N) and ethanol 70%. The result showed that cowpea protein fractions of albumin, globulin, glutelin and prolamin had different minimum and maximum solubility. Flour and cowpea protein concentrates had different chemical composition and functional properties. The use of insecticides failed to stop the rice black bugs attacks. Entomopathogenic fungi can be used to reduce rice black bugs population. However, the function of the type of fungus that can eradicate rice black bugs was not yet identified. This experimental research was conducted to identify the types of fungus that attack rice black bugs by taking samples of nymphs and imago attacked by entomopathogenic fungi in Bolaang Mongondow Regency. Sampling of rice black bugs was done 3 times. Koch’s postulates test was employed to see the fungus that infect the rice black bugs. Samples were isolated on PDA media (Patato dextrose agar). Entomopathogenic fungi were purified, then inoculated on healthy rice black bugs. Rice black bugs infected with fungi were isolated again on PDA media. In a mass, of fungus colonies showed reddish white field and after being isolated on PDA media of the colony agregate, entomopathogenic Paecilomyces sp. fungus and Fusarium sp were found. Fungi as pathogenic agent was only found in Paecilomyces sp. The rice black bugs (Scotinophara sp.) were isolated on culture media and inoculation in healthy Scotinophara sp showed the same color of the colony during sampling of Scotinophara sp. infected with fungus. Adsorption experiments are carried out using batch system in order to do equilibrium adsorption isotherm, kinetics and thermodynamic studies. It is found that chemical modification of plant waste like sawdust coated with polypyrrole called polypyrrole composite is an efficient adsorbent for the removal of AO7 and BR29 from aqueous solutions. Finally, the performance of PPy/SD was compared with both the dyes. The solution mixture was irradiated in presence of 125w and 250 w mercury vapor lamp for around 40 to50 hrs. The progress of the reaction mixture was observed at regular intervals from Thin layer chromatography method every10 hrs. After 41 and 55 hrs two new spots appeared on the plate of TLC. At the end of the reaction two products were found. Plants are rich sources of flavonoids, alkaloids, terpenoids and other related polyphenols. One such important plant used for treating heart ailments is Terminalia arjuna. The bark of this plant plays a vital role as cardiac tonic. It also possesses antimicrobial, cytotoxic and antidiabetic properties. The phytochemical activity of the secondary metabolites present in the bark of T.arjuna has been reported widely. But, the medical uses of leaf extract of the plant have seldom been reported. In this work, the ethanolic extract of leaf of T. arjuna has been analysed for the presence of different phytochemicals using FTIR, UV-Visible and GC-MS spectroscopic methods. The various functional groups present in the leaf extract have been identified initially using FTIR and UV-Vis spectra of leaf extract. Next, GC-MS studies revealed the complete structure of the twelve major phytoconstituents that were present in the leaf extract. In the next stage of the study, the therapeutic effect of the extract as potent anti-bacterial and antifungal agent has been studied.
