This study also examined the different challenges that are faced by teachers during grading practices and also explored the gaps that exist between teachers' views and practices regarding grading and reporting of students' learning. Qualitative research (phenomenological design) was employed to conduct the study. Data were collected in two phases; in phase one, open-ended questionnaires were used with 50 teachers, which comprised four general questions related to grading and reporting of students' learning. On the basis of the initial analysis of teachers' input, those ten teachers were selected for phase two of data collection activities which have maximum variations in their views. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and documents analysis in phase two of data collection. The major findings revealed that the traditional grading system is used in public schools and teachers consider only cognitive factors (achievement marks) and summative assessment scores while assigning grades to students' learning. The findings highlighted the difficulties like large class size, the restriction imposed by authority, consideration of different factors, etc., that teachers faced during their grading practices. It was further revealed that noticeable gaps exist between teachers’ views and their practices related to grading and reporting of students’ learning. For example, participant teachers insisted on considering both cognitive and non-cognitive factors, but their practices contradict their views since the grades were assigned only on the basis of Percentage marks and that too obtained during summative exams.","PeriodicalId":129253,"journal":{"name":"Global Educational Studies Review","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123871716","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Symbolic interaction believes that relationships depend on interaction and can be interpreted symbolically. A constructivist paradigm was used for this qualitative study using focused group discussions with postgraduate students from public universities in Punjab, Pakistan. A purposive sampling strategy was used and 10 focused group discussions were conducted with 4-7 participants in each group. After the coding, the data were thematically analyzed. The themes revealed that researchers' own lack of motivation and aptitude are the most prevalent problems. Also, supervisors' lack of expertise, unavailability, lack of commitment and even abandonment, their professional engagements and their attitude cause trouble in the development of a successful relationship. However, positive reinforcements, the role of expectations in shaping the relationship and accountability are some of the suggested ways that can improve the relationship.","PeriodicalId":129253,"journal":{"name":"Global Educational Studies Review","volume":"70 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122383168","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The existing service delivery models, including disability assessment, are based on the medical model. The objective of the study was to use the standardized instrument WHO Disability Assessment Schedule (WHODAS-2.0) and establish its ecological validity for disability assessment in Pakistan. Data was collected from 371 out-of-school children with disabilities from three districts of Punjab by using the purposive sampling technique. An innovative method was used to establish ecological validity by taking 45 randomly selected cases among samples, and these cases were presented to a panel of nine experts/raters. The findings of the study concluded a correlation between raters' total score and total sample score, which was found positively strong and significant as r = .819, p = < .001, and it indicated that the use of the WHODAS 2.0 version is ecologically fit forthe use of disability assessment.","PeriodicalId":129253,"journal":{"name":"Global Educational Studies Review","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123040128","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Female intercollegiate volleyball and basketball players made up the study's sample. For this investigation, a stratified sampling strategy was employed. Each segment's sample of 150,150 females age was limited to 16 to 21 (Mean=18.5 and Stander Deviation=1.87). Female basketball and volleyball teams from Sargodha District College that took part in the district of Sargodha in Sargodha District from 2015 to 2016 were the only ones included in the innovative study. To investigate the effect of an independent variable on a dependent variable, adopted questionnaires were utilized. The data was tabulated and then subjected to regression and inferential statistics. Results showed that anxiety has a significant negative impact on the performance of basketball and volleyball players. Additionally, it was discovered that there was no association between dependent and independent variables. It was suggested that the coaches should receive extensive facilitation as a coping mechanism to boost their self-assurance and prevent worry, which would ultimately improve their performance. Additionally, it was suggested that coaches and trainers may provide a peaceful environment to athletes and basketball and volleyball players so that they keep away from cognitive anxiety and enhance their self-confidence.","PeriodicalId":129253,"journal":{"name":"Global Educational Studies Review","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-06-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127771399","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
