It is designed using the Component Based Software Engineering (CBSE) paradigm, where applications are to be developed by integrating server-side EJB and client-side JCC components. The search system is under a major reconstruction in order to be more general and robust, and to be ready for evolving electronic commerce demands. In this paper, we describe the development of the meta-information gathering service of IHWA (meta gatherer), which collects and extracts information from semi-structured or unstructured data sources. Focus is on the development of the information extraction service of the gatherer from semi-structured (DTD-unknown XML data) Internet information sources. The information extraction module implemented provides clean Java programming interfaces, so that it can be easily integrated with other applications. Its implementation is an efficient one as well, since it analyzes a source XML file in one path, where most other systems use the two paths approach.","PeriodicalId":124749,"journal":{"name":"ISIE 2001. 2001 IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics Proceedings (Cat. To achieve good dynamic performance for disturbance rejection and set point tracking, 1 DOF and 2 DOF controllers are designed and analyzed. The proposed controllers are designed based on the transfer function of the induction machine in the synchronous reference frame under field oriented control (FOC). The 1 DOF controllers are proportional plus integral plus derivative (PID) and integral plus proportional & rate feedback (I-PD) configuration, while the proposed 2 DOF controllers consist of a PID type in the feedback loop and a command feedforward controller and the other I-PD type in the feedback loop, again with a command feedforward controller. The dynamic performance of the drive system for different operating conditions is studied with application of 1 DOF PID, 1 DOF I-PD, 2 DOF PID and 2 DOF I-PD controllers. Taking into consideration the parameter variations of the induction machine, the dynamic performances have been studied under load changes and set-point variations. Simulation results are provided to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed controllers.","PeriodicalId":124749,"journal":{"name":"ISIE 2001. 2001 IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics Proceedings (Cat. In this paper, a PV array was simulated being connected up to the power converters. The transient change of the output current of PV array under the real field weather condition was described and also the output current of the DC/AC converter flowing to the utility power network was analyzed with the PWM switching width. Moreover, the MPPT control of the PV power generation system was combined to the system on simulation. The outcome of the simulation demonstrates the effectiveness of the proposed simulation scheme. The result shows that the cost effectiveness verifying for the efficiency or availability and stability of PV generation systems and the comparison research of various control schemes like MPPT under the same weather conditions are possible.","PeriodicalId":124749,"journal":{"name":"ISIE 2001. 2001 IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics Proceedings (Cat. The circuit topology is originated from the integration of two half-wave rectifiers with buck-boost power-factor-correction (PFC) converters and a half-bridge series-resonant parallel-loaded inverter. A high power factor at the input line is assured by operating the buck-boost converters in discontinuous conduction mode (DCM). With symmetrical operation and carefully designed circuit parameters, zero-voltage-switching (ZVS) on the active power switches of the inverter can be retained to achieve high circuit efficiency. The design equations are derived from the analyzed results based on fundamental approximation, and then an easy-to-use design tool is provided accordingly under considerations of filament heating and ignition. A prototype circuit designed for two T9-40W rapid-start fluorescent lamps is built and tested to verify the analytical predictions. Satisfactory performances are obtained from the experimental results.","PeriodicalId":124749,"journal":{"name":"ISIE 2001. 2001 IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics Proceedings (Cat. Consequently, the consideration of their applications is of increasing interest. When one looks in detail at their possibilities, the requirement for larger capacity inverters is also anticipated for use in large AC motor drives, SVCs (static VAr compensators) and the like. In this paper, the possibility of applying the technology to SVCs is discussed. By controlling the phase and the amplitude of the modulating sinusoidal signal, the capacitor voltage and the output current can be controlled successfully, which can play an important role in SVC applications. In addition, a third order harmonic can be injected, and the capacitor voltage can be controlled by shifting its phase with reference to the modulating sinusoidal waveform. By using these characteristics, coupled with an adequate feedback control circuit, each capacitor voltage can be controlled, even with respect to fluctuations in the load or unbalanced states of the individual capacitor voltages.","PeriodicalId":124749,"journal":{"name":"ISIE 2001. 2001 IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics Proceedings (Cat. However, the synthesis of LD itself mainly depends on the experience of the industrial engineer, which often results in unstructured or inflexible design. Hence, in this paper, we propose a ladder diagram transformation (LDT) algorithm which systematically produces LDs for PLCs based on discrete event models (DEMs) to enhance the structured and flexible design mechanism. Moreover, the LDT algorithm is convenient and easy to be implemented. The LDT algorithm is illustrated by considering the control of a point to point (PTP) control system.","PeriodicalId":124749,"journal":{"name":"ISIE 2001. 2001 IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics Proceedings (Cat. It is generally known that it is profitable in fuel-consumption to operate engine in OOL (optimal operating line). We established the mathematical model of a parallel HEV, which is linear time-invariant. To operate an engine in OOL, we applied RHC (receding horizon control), because it has the advantages such as good tracking performance under the state and control constraints. This RHC is obtained by using the semi-definite programming in the LMI (linear matrix inequality) form. In this paper, there are two main topics. First, under state and control constraints by the engine and motor performances, the optimal tracking of OOL was simulated. Second, we combined the RHC with the iterative simulation to extract the optimal gear ratio. In this simulation, the vehicle is commanded to track the reference vehicle trajectory, and the engine is operated in the optimal operating region which is made by the state constraints.","PeriodicalId":124749,"journal":{"name":"ISIE 2001. 2001 IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics Proceedings (Cat. This is a blind watermarking which can confirm the copyright without the original image. The original image is transformed using wavelet transform and flags are created with the secret key. The secret key is the thing we need to extract the flags and compare the extracted flags with the original flags that are created during the watermark embedding procedure. To criticize the robustness of this scheme we compared the extracted flag with the original flag after several attacks such as JPEG compression, collusion, resize and noise addition. The results show that the proposed watermarking algorithm has excellent robustness against various watermark attacks with the high quality of the watermarked image.","PeriodicalId":124749,"journal":{"name":"ISIE 2001. 2001 IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics Proceedings (Cat.
