The PIDA controller design is suggested by Jung and Dorf and Shunju Manabe. In the Jung and Dorf method, rise time is rapid, but large overshoot occure at the rise time. Using the CDM (coefficient diagram method) of Shunju Manabe, overshoot does not occur, but rise time is very slow. Therefore, in this paper, a pre-Ccmpensator is proposed to improve the Jung and Dorf method for decreasing the overshoot at the rise time. The controller performance was studied by application to an induction motor in this paper.","PeriodicalId":124749,"journal":{"name":"ISIE 2001. 2001 IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics Proceedings (Cat. Though there are some general purpose motion controllers, the graphics user interface (GUI) and motion libraries of these controllers are fixed and hidden so that they cannot be modified by a user for performing a desired task efficiently. Even if some users want to use a few motion libraries, they have to include all motion libraries in their software instead of selected motion libraries. Also, even if there are some desired GUI functions and motion libraries that are not included in a general purpose motion controller, these functions and libraries cannot be included by users of this motion controller. Thus, there may be some applications that need to develop another motion controller because none of the existing motion controllers include the software functions required in these applications. In this paper, a high-performance open architecture motion controller is proposed and developed. Since the GUI functions and motion libraries in the proposed motion controller can be easily added, modified, or deleted for a given application, the proposed motion controller can be optimized for the given application and also be used in a wide range of applications. Some experiments on the proposed motion controller are performed.","PeriodicalId":124749,"journal":{"name":"ISIE 2001. 2001 IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics Proceedings (Cat. In cases where the casing oscillator is operated on slanted ground, if other heavy construction equipment is not used, it is impossible to insert casings into the ground using only the casing oscillator. This paper presents a new kind of casing oscillator that need not be on level ground to insert casings. This mechanism can execute 4 DOF motion by actuating 5 single-rod hydraulic cylinders. This paper presents an inverse kinematic analysis of the casing oscillator, and verifies the validity of the analysis through the use of an experiment.","PeriodicalId":124749,"journal":{"name":"ISIE 2001. 2001 IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics Proceedings (Cat. Each user has different goal and sites are usually changing while the site grows and evolves. Web servers record data about user interactions as web log data. This web log has all hits of user access. In order to improve system performance and to reduce visitor's navigation effort, the adaptive web site was suggested. The adaptive web site is a web site that automatically improves its organization and presentation by self-learning. To get information for site modification, the authors use the web log. They cluster the pages in the web site using ART (adaptive resonance theory) and provide grouped pages to improve system performance. The ART model clusters the web log pattern well and the result of clustering information is good to system topology modification.","PeriodicalId":124749,"journal":{"name":"ISIE 2001. 2001 IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics Proceedings (Cat. Classically, the DC motor is controlled by current or speed control using proportion control method, by output torque following the load on the plane like a manual operation. But in the industrial field, the electronic fork lift demands the robust drive mode. For some cases of the mode, there is a problem in torque and speed control following slope capacity. The control is sensitive concerning the slope angle and output speed. Various control methods have been studied for stability of speed control. In this paper, the author applies a speed controller for self-tuning using the genetic algorithm to obtain robust, stable speed control and uses stable, high efficiency DSP control as the main controller for high speed processor, embodying dynamic characteristics of control comparing the PI control to the fuzzy control.","PeriodicalId":124749,"journal":{"name":"ISIE 2001. 2001 IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics Proceedings (Cat. With a high-performance field oriented control system, the torque and flux producing components of the stator current are decoupled so that the independent torque and flux controls are possible as in DC motors. Thus, a high quality control of the stator current vector is essential for the successful implementation of the field-oriented control since the current controller has a direct influence on the drive performance. The current control schemes for a voltage source inverter-fed PMSM drive can be classified as hysteresis control, ramp comparison control, synchronous frame proportional-integral (PI) control, and predictive control. Among them, the predictive control is known to give a superior performance. However, this control scheme requires the information on the machine parameters and operation conditions with the sufficient accuracy, and cannot give a satisfactory response under parameter mismatch. To overcome such a limitation, the robust speed control of a PMSM using sliding mode control with load torque estimation is presented. The load disturbance is detected by the observer of an unknown and inaccessible input, and is compensated by the feedforward current. The proposed control schemes are applied to PMSM driven by a three-phase voltage-fed PWM inverter and the effectiveness is verified through the comparative simulations.","PeriodicalId":124749,"journal":{"name":"ISIE 2001. 2001 IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics Proceedings (Cat. It is shown that time-invariant INS error models are observable with measurements from at least three GPS antennas on the vehicle. There is at least one unobservable mode with two antennas. There are three unobservable modes with one antenna. It is also shown that time-varying INS error models are instantaneously observable with measurements from three GPS antennas. A numerical simulation results are given to verify the effectiveness of the multiantenna measurement system on the INS error estimation. Interpolating a nonlinear system into an LPV system associated with time-varying and state-dependent weighting functions, i.e. the gain-scheduled parameters, allows one to apply various linear system theories and techniques for analyzing and synthesizing nonlinear systems. Consequently, with the real-time measurable time-varying parameters, this paper presents an affine type of linear parameter-dependent output-feedback controller, i.e. an LPV controller, for the given LPV plant. As a cost, we consider an upper bound of states and input energy called LQ performance, under all admissible grades of the gain-scheduled parameters. This approach is more flexible for the nonlinear systems than existing approaches in the literature because the other controllers excessively depend on the structure of the nonlinear systems.","PeriodicalId":124749,"journal":{"name":"ISIE 2001. 2001 IEEE International Symposium on Industrial Electronics Proceedings (Cat.
