This approach is based on the treatment of each phase current and voltage. The outputs of the ANN indicate the fault presence and it type. The ANN detector and classifier are tested in various fault types, various locations, different fault resistances and various inception angle. The proposed six-port (SP) design covers a low frequency wide band ranging from 1.68 GHz to 2.25 GHz with a bandwidth of almost 570 MHz. This low frequency operation is unique to this design, as most of the available designs cover high frequency bands starting above 2 GHz. The frequency bands covered by this design are for commercially available wireless standards. This includes GSM-1800/GSM-1900/PCS (1850~1990 MHz) and UMTS(1885~2200 MHz) bands. A Major contribution of this optimized design results in 40% reduction in the total area comparing its size with the most relevant design. The dimensions of the optimized SP design are suitable to be accommodated within a software defined radio and cognitive radio platforms. Low frequency RF DF and compact size of this design are the key features. Moreover, the proposed system based on SP design can be extended to a variety of applications and other low cost microwave measurements as well. Energy recovery is one of these solutions. It allows producing energy without any pollution effect. Speed bump power generator (SBPG) is a system allowing producing power from the cars moving on the road. When the car passes over a SBPG, a mechanical system absorbs its kinetic energy and transfers it into electrical power. In this paper, the different types of SBPG are presented. A prototype is constructed and experiments are carried out. One can generate up to 65 W when a mass of 85 kg is applied to the bump. Real hot water consumption profiles and weather conditions are applied. A particular attention is paid to the impact of the assumption of a constant ambient temperature on the model's behavior. They are known for their many advantages such as light weight, small size and high efficiency. Self-excited SCGs, with high response excitation effect, have supplementary property that may be used for enhancing transient power system stability. Hence, the control of this type of generators becomes increasingly important. Because of the long time constant of the SCG, the control of excitation only is not sufficient. In this paper, we study the enhancement of power system stability by implementing power system stabilizer (PSS) into excitation (EPSS) and/or turbine governor (GPSS) systems of the SCG with high response excitation. We propose a new adaptive precoding method applied on the signals being transmitted by the set of active antennas. Based on Joint Processing (JP) technique and the precoding method, we define a joint cellular area of cooperation between different evolved NodeBs (eNodeBs) serving a given user equipment (UE). The set of active antennas is selected based on the channel information at the transmitters. Simulations are performed in terms of throughput and Bit Error Rate (BER) for the cell edge users. Results show that an optimized number of the active antennas exists. Moreover, results show that additional increase of this number has a limited throughput and BER improvement. It is defined as the condition in which an individual possess a normal hearing threshold on pure tone audiometry however complains about his inability or difficulty in understanding speech in the presence of background noise. In what follows is a proposed approach for a solution for KKS consisting of three main blocks starting by separating mixed signals, then identifying the speaker of each speech signal, and finally applying a selectivity method for selecting the intended speaker. Convolutive Blind Source Separation (CoBliSS) was used for signal separation while speaker identification depended on Mel Frequency Cepstral Correlations as features and Multilayer Perceptron (MLP) as a classifier. The first stage utilizes the Embedded Sample and Hold technique to eliminate the dedicated power hungry Sample and Hold circuit. Low gain Opamps are used with a Foreground Digital Calibration scheme to account for the Opamp's finite gain and non-linearity. In order to facilitate this task, the multi-mass model has been established recently. In fact, for certain industrial drive systems (rolling mills, compressors, etc.), it is necessary to take into consideration the non infinite rigidity of the mechanical link elements which causes mechanical vibrations. These vibrations are a major problem in industry because they harm the system dynamic performances and may end with the deterioration of the system structures. For this purpose, it is useful to dissociate the mechanical part into several masses in order to elaborate the correspondent multi-mass system. This paper presents a linearized model for complex mechanical load based on a two-mass system driven by a DC servomotor and connected together by an elastic link. The first step of the study consists of determining the appropriate transfer functions of the model. Then, linear regulation loops for velocity and load position control are elaborated using PI or PID regulators. As a final step, numerical simulations for different load torques are performed with Matlab/Simulink using the set of parameters of a drive system model. The simulation results show that the regulated system responds conveniently. Several experiments have been carried out to collect acoustic signals generated from various leakage volumes. Upon signals analysis, it is noticed that the acquired signals are so weak and they are buried in the background noise caused by fluid flow, specially for small leakage volumes. In this work, a simple and easy to implement method for detecting and quantifying leakages in underground plastic pipes is developed. In this method, sound data are sampled and frequency spectrum of the acoustic signals is obtained by calculating the Fast Fourier Transform (FFT). Detection and quantification of existing leakages are carried out using the integral of the spectrum over frequencies below 500 Hz.
