Abstract

The high cost of fuel energy and the dangerous rate of pollution push researchers to find new sources of energy. Energy recovery is one of these solutions. It allows producing energy without any pollution effect. Speed bump power generator (SBPG) is a system allowing producing power from the cars moving on the road. When the car passes over a SBPG, a mechanical system absorbs its kinetic energy and transfers it into electrical power. In this paper, the different types of SBPG are presented. A prototype is constructed and experiments are carried out. One can generate up to 65 W when a mass of 85 kg is applied to the bump.
