Nurses account for more than half of the catheterisation conducted within hospitals. Due to this reason, it was important to identify whether nursing practice on the management of indwelling urinary catheter was in the reflection of the current national guidelines. The survey is conducted on 32 participants who reveal the strengths and limitation within the areas. Nurses account for more than half of the catheterisation conducted within the hospital. In order to prevent CAUTI complication, the research suggested training and education as the main solution since nurses significantly exhibited poor performance in terms of knowledge and skills in the area of catheterisation, especially in the induction process. Moreover, the study reveals that the use of bladder scan and system intervention which has been identified to reduce the number of catheter insertions contributes to the reduction of urinary bacterial infection.

We have prepared a special education program\u0000for our nurses about uro-oncological surgeries and the follow-up process since January 2015. Patients were divided into two\u0000groups: 28 patients before nursing education and 32 patients after nursing education. We compared the patient satisfaction,\u0000the quality of health care given to the patients by nurses and the requirement of need for out of home care following discharge\u0000in the periods before and after nursing education.\u0000Results: Although uro-oncology nursing education did not affect the rates of deterioration in activities of daily living, satisfaction\u0000rates of the patients and their relatives were observed as significantly higher in the period of following the Uro-Oncology\u0000Nursing Education Program (90.6% vs. 71.4%, p=0.04). The decline in anxiety/depression (28.1% vs. 53.6%, p=0.04) in\u0000this period was attributed to the nursing education. The patients and their relatives felt themselves better and in confidence\u0000about coping with undesirable problems related to cystectomy. Parallel to this situation, the need for out of home care such\u0000as skilled nursing or rehabilitation facilities were seen significantly lower following uro-oncology nursing education (28.1%\u0000vs. 64.3%, p=0.005).\u0000Conclusion: The standardization of uro-oncology nursing care practices will provide better relief of symptoms related major\u0000uro-oncologic surgeries such as radical cystectomy and increase health related quality of life. It may contribute to declines\u0000of out of home care requirement.

While there is still lacking firm evidence in the nursing educational field about its efficacy. The different paper reports different research result about an application of PBL methodology. Objectives: The purpose of this scoping review was to appraise and examine the range of recent available evidence on the effectiveness of problem-based learning in undergraduate nursing programs. Research Strategy: Used Medline, The Cochrane Databases of Systematic Review, and The Database of Abstract of Reviews of Effect (DARE), Cumulative Index to Nursing and Allied Health Literature (CINAHL (via Ebsco)) to search English language literature. Adopted P (population) C (concept) C (context) framework to identify keywords and index terms, and the reference list of some high level of evidence was lastly searched for additional studies. Methodological quality: Each paper was assessed for its eligibility and methodological quality with JBI Critical Appraisal tools (Appendix 1) before inclusion in this review. The level of evidence of each retrieved study was assessed according to New JBI Levels of Evidence (Appendix2) developed by the Joanna Briggs Institute Levels of Evidence and Grades of Recommendation Working Party October 2013. High level of evidence such as systematic reviews, randomised control trials, quasi-experimental studies were given priority. Discussion: Considerable primary studies have reported PBL produced a positive outcome for nursing students, while none of them gave firm evidence about the effect of PBL on nursing students’ critical thinking development, knowledge competence, learning motivation, attitude, and performance. Critical thinking, as the vital evaluation element of each study, whether relates positively to the other skills was uncertain. The validity and reliability of evaluation instruments in each study in nursing discipline were still controversial. Conclusion: No strong conclusion had been made from this review, and more research with large sample size is needed to examine the effectiveness of PBL among nursing programs. Long-term effects of outcomes and cost effectiveness were suggested to be measured in future studies. The effectiveness’ appraisal instruments in nursing discipline were called for adjustment and development.

It is precisely the body that you can use you to test the beliefs of patients on functionality. Dysfunctional beliefs lead to dysfunctional emotions and corresponding response representations in the body. This is entirely in line with the therapeutic elaboration of Lang’s emotion theory. That is, linking existing stimulus representations to incompatible response and meaning representations. This practical paper introduces readers to body-oriented counter conditioning techniques and how to apply the principles of counter conditioning in various anxiety and mood disorders. A report is done from a short mindfulness group training for cardiology patients with anxiety and mood complaints.

This contrasts with the current educational model at many universities where students are taught in silos about their own professions. This article describes a 15-week interprofessional course experience and outcomes related to didactic, simulation, and clinical experience over three semesters representing eight different professions in one University. This course allowed students to learn not only about each other’s professions through classroom, presentations, but also to learn from and with each other through a series of high-fidelity simulation and clinical experiences. Three different measurements were used including a readiness to learn survey, introduction survey and a pre/post-interprofessional competencies survey. Quantitative analysis was completed on the pre-and post-surveys. Surveys were analyzed and students’ self-efficacy ratings showed significant improvements in the areas of Teamwork, Roles/Responsibilities, and Communication as well as an increase in knowledge of areas of patient centered care and interdisciplinary teamwork. Areas that involved Teamwork and Roles/Responsibilities regarding other professions were the largest improvements over the course of the semester. This indicates that the interprofessional course emphasized learning in these domains as it would be the most beneficial to learn.
