To investigate the correlation between PSI, SEF and ETSEV in patients undergoing general anesthesia. Methods. In this study, 26 general anesthesia patients (11 males and 15 females, aged 21-70 years, ASA I-III) underwent lower extremity orthopedic surgery were selected. PSI, SEF, and ETSEV were recorded by Sedline brain function monitor and PHILIPS MP20 monitor, respectively, and the difference between SEF-L and SEF-R ΔSEF was calculated. Spearman correlation analysis was used for the correlation between PSI, SEF and ETSEV, and Bland-Altman was used to analyze the consistency of SEF-L and SEF-R. Results. Spearman correlation analysis showed that PSI (r=-0.401, P=0.001), SEF-L (r=-0.705, P=0.000), and SEF-R (r=- 0.635, P=0.000) were all negatively correlated with ETSEV, and SEF was more strongly correlated with ETSEV compared to PSI. Bland-Altman analysis showed that there were 2 points outside the limits of agreement between SEF-L and SEF-R, and SEF-L remained in agreement with SEF-R. Conclusion. Under sevoflurane-maintained general anesthesia, SEF was more responsive to intraoperative depth of anesthesia changes in patients, and left and right brain SEF remained consistent.","PeriodicalId":89422,"journal":{"name":"Journal of nursing and healthcare of chronic illness","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135126497","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We designed this study to observe the effectiveness of the \"two-line and six-stage\" (TLSS) teaching mode based on model making in teaching Human Anatomy in nursing. Methods: One class in the nursing major in Grade 20 was randomly selected as the control group, in which the traditional teaching mode was adopted; while, another class in the same major and grade was selected as the observation group, in which the TLSS teaching mode was adopted. After the course teaching was completed, these students in both groups were compared from the perspective of the final theoretical examination and physical specimen assessment. Besides, the evaluation of the teaching effectiveness of these students from both groups was also investigated. Results: The observation group outperformed the control group in both theoretical examination and physical specimen assessment, which was specifically manifested in six evaluation items, including the novelty of teaching methods, the elimination of the difficult points of the course, the mobilization of the learning enthusiasm, the interestingness of the course teaching, its effects on clinical thinking training, and the interpretation of the knowledge. Many victims have never sought help from health-related services. Consequently, the scale of the problem is unknown, and SGBV victims’ injuries, both psychological and physical, remain undetected and unaddressed. We hypothesized that health workers in rural Reproductive Health Services could provide a valuable resource for SGBV screening and subsequent referral for support. Methods Our project had three elements. First, Reproductive Health Service workers were trained in the knowledge and skills needed to screen for and identify women who had experienced SGBV, using a questionnaire-based approach. Second, the screening questionnaire was used by reproductive health workers over a 3-month period, and the data analysed to explore the scale and nature of the problem. Third, victims detected were offered referral as appropriate to hospital services and/or the ActionAid SURGE (Strengthening Uganda’s Response to Gender Equality) shelter in Gulu. Results 1656 women were screened. 778 (47%) had a history of SGBV, including 123 victims of rape and 505 victims of non-sexual violence. 1,254 (76%) had been directly or indirectly affected by conflict experiences; 1066 had lived in IDP camps. 145 (9%) were referred at their request to Gulu SGBV Shelter under SURGE. Of these, 25 attended the shelter and received assistance, and a further 20 received telephone counselling. Conclusion Undetected SGBV remains a problem in post-conflict northern Uganda. Reproductive Health Service workers, following specific training, can effectively screen for and identify otherwise unreported and unassisted cases of SGBV. Future work will explore scaling up to include screening in hospital A&E departments, incorporate approaches to screening for male victims, and the impact of taking both screening and support services to rural communities through local clinics with mobile teams.","PeriodicalId":89422,"journal":{"name":"Journal of nursing and healthcare of chronic illness","volume":"2013 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-09-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"135451160","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Method: An analytical cross-sectional community-based study conducted among 16-19year-old sexually active adolescents from January-March, 2018. Participants were selected through multi-stage sampling and data collected using a pre-tested structured questionnaire. Data were analyzed using chi-squared test for categorical variables. Factors associated with contraceptive use were assessed using logistic regression to generate crude and adjusted odds ratios (AORs) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs). P<0.05 was considered statistically significant. Results: Altogether, 298 sexually active adolescents were studied. The mean age was 17.5 years (standard deviation 1.1 years). About 53% were out-of-school adolescents. About 44% of adolescents were sexually active at the time of the research, with outof-school adolescents being more likely to be sexually active (53.8% vs. 32.1%; p<0.001). Contraceptive knowledge and ever use were 75.0% and 65% respectively. The most commonly used contraceptives were condoms (54%) and emergency contraception (31%). Significant factors influencing contraceptive use were; father’s educational level (AOR4.86; 95% CI 1.70 – 13.91; p<0.001) and prior discussion of contraceptive use with partner (AOR 3.96; 95% CI 1.32 – 11.89; p=0.01).
