Specifically, this study suggests a correct implication of the bioethical criteria aimed at both an early diagnosis of the disease and a correct management of complications. An adequate therapeutic protocol is determined both by clinical evidence and by bioethical guidelines with particular regard to the elderly, the disabled and to those with chronic multisystem diseases.","PeriodicalId":89408,"journal":{"name":"Journal of clinical research & bioethics","volume":"11 1","pages":"1-3"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"69968822","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Exposure to these toxic substances causes various ailments, diseases and cancer in human. And, it all happens via either by ingesting these mycotoxins containing foodstuffs directly or indirectly by the foods of animal origin. These mycotoxins poisoning in humans are usually resulted in fatal consequences like multiple organs failure especially the liver and kidney failures or if survived the patients might be suffering from cancer in future. Further, it has already been proved that most of these mycotoxins when ingested cause mutations in cellular genome developing cancers in human. The present review is an attempt to fill the research gaps discussing the new roles of mycotoxins causing cancer with the types of new cancers produced by them on the basis of researches done so far in the field of fungal origin of cancer.","PeriodicalId":89408,"journal":{"name":"Journal of clinical research & bioethics","volume":"19 1","pages":"1-10"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"69970304","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Veracity and confidentiality are strictly obligatory for health care professionals in virtue and medical ethics. Veracity is not only the part of virtue ethics but also it is our professional and moral obligation to always remain truthful in practice and as well as in our daily life. But, it becomes very difficult for health care providers to maintain confidentiality, giving respect to patient autonomy, and speaking truth in the case where patients one diagnosed with stigmatized disorders such as AIDS, where we have to save the society by applying the concept of utilitarianism. This paper analyzes such complex conditions in which there is an ethical dilemma occurred between patientâs autonomy to maintain his confidentiality of positive HIV and tell a lie to patientâs wife. This situation put many questions in the HCPâs mind. Such as: is it right to respect patientâs autonomy which can put patientâs surrounding at risk? Is it moral obligation of the HCP to tell a lie? Or is it best solution if the HCP maintain patientâs confidentiality?","PeriodicalId":89408,"journal":{"name":"Journal of clinical research & bioethics","volume":"11 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"69968913","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The principle of truth telling can influence the right of patients and their families of getting correct information about the disease, treatment plan, and other treatment options available. This paper discusses the HCP’ s decision for beneficence of patient life and keeping patient stigmatized status confidential which creates conflict between three principles. It is believed that truth telling and disclosing correct diagnosis should be done only if there is no risk to patient s life. Ethical principles conflicting here are the beneficence, confidentiality and veracity. HCP was in confusion that weather to tell the truth by disclosing the immoral act of the patient in front of her family, which could result in losing patient’s life or keep it confidential.","PeriodicalId":89408,"journal":{"name":"Journal of clinical research & bioethics","volume":"11 1","pages":"1-3"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"69968924","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A questionnaire was drafted and distributed to 378 chronically ill patients in Hospital de Braga, which intended to assess whether they were informed of the possibility of the need for admission to intensive care, as well as invasive techniques that they might have to be submitted. The results showed that information was clearly insufficient. The scientific literature articles in this area supports that the lack of information is still very common. So, the authors propose improving this communication. Note that, in the context of chronic disease, prompt information of the patient of the future possibility of need for admission into intensive care is the way to ensure respect of their last will. They suggest that the doctor's commitment to respecting the autonomy of the chronically ill is an opportunity for better care.","PeriodicalId":89408,"journal":{"name":"Journal of clinical research & bioethics","volume":"10 1","pages":"1-4"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"69014243","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
