A rotated mandible leads to its associated muscles getting unilaterally overstretched or in a state of spasm. Certain muscles also get flattened because the yare not used because of the rotated mandible. Since the entire musculoskeletal system is inter-related and connected to each other, all the muscles of the body get adjusted to maintain a state of balance. \u0000Materials and methods: A study of 17 individuals having back or neck pain was conducted. They answered a questionnaire about their back/neck pain and their facial photograph was taken to analyze 3 muscles - zygomaticus major, mentalis, masseter, and the nasolabial-fold. The muscles were checked for hypo/hypertrophy, the nasolabial-fold for its orientation - closer to the horizontal/vertical plane. \u0000\u0000Results and analysis: 50% had normal Zygomaticus Major muscle, and 50% showed hypo/ hypertrophy. 50% had normal Masseter and 50% were hypertrophied. Mentalis muscle showed hypertrophy in 50% backache and 60% neck-ache cases. The right side Nasolabial fold was normal in 75% of backache cases and 80% of neck-ache cases. The left side showed a significant deviation with 80% of neck-ache cases having a horizontal nasolabial fold. None of them showed any statistical significance. \u0000\u0000Conclusion:The study didn't show significant association between the four parameters and backache and neck pain. Materials and Methods: A total of 100 students were randomly selected ranging from 17 years to 24 years of age from the 1st,2nd and 3rd year students studying in Arts,Science and Commerce streams respectively. A questionnaire with two parts was used:The first part included demographic data and the second part was designed to assess the knowledge, attitude and practice. Prior permission was taken from the Principal of the College to carry out the study. The nature and purpose of the study was explained and informed consent was taken from the students.Data collected was tabulated using Microsoft Excel sheet and was statistically analysed. Results: The knowledge of the students was satisfactory.A majority of students, i.e., 94%, agreed that a person's oral health has an impact on his general health. 59% agreed that Flouridecan prevent dental caries whereas 99% have the knowledge that smoking and tobacco can cause oral cancer.94% agreed that sweet and soft food can affect teeth. While 89%changed their toothbrushes within three months, around 75 % brushed twice daily.Only 58% visited a dentist and only 40% used dental floss and mouthwash. This poses a great difficulty in treatment planning and management of these furcation defects.Assessing the degree of furcation involvement depending on external tooth surface points may lead to the underestimation of positive treatment outcomes.\u0000\u0000Aim: \u0000To determine the buccolingual width of the furcation of mandibular molar and compare it with buccolingual width of mesial and distal roots at the level of root separation.\u0000\u0000Materials and Methods: 40 randomly selected mandibular molars were analyzed in which 20 first molars and 20 second molars were included. Four horizontal buccolingual distances were evaluated: CEJ, Furcation entrance/ roof width (FE), Mesial root width (MRW), andDistal root width (DRW).Discrepancies between FE measurements and MRW, DRW, and CEJ were determined in each tooth by subtracting the FE measurements respectively from MRW, DRW, and CEJ. \u0000\u0000Results: The width of the furcation entrance has a mean of 5.41 ± 0.67 mm varying from 4 to 7 mm in first molars and a mean of 5.18 ± 0.64 mm varying from 4 to 6 mm in second molars. \u0000In this study, the FE is measured more internally than the mesial and distal root surfaces and therefore, the FE is smaller than MRW and DRW.From this, it is evident that the actual furcation width is much less than the CEJ width, MRW and DRW measured buccolingually.\u0000\u0000Conclusion: Clinical measurements of horizontal probing depth that use the external surfaces of roots as reference points overestimate the true anatomical component of furcation involvement in mandibular molars. Conversely, positive treatment outcomes in these teeth may be underestimated. Thus, estimation of actual furcation entrance width before a surgical intervention is necessary and can influence the prognosis of involved teeth after different regenerative therapies for furcation defects.\u0000\u0000Key words : Furcation therapy, molar anatomy, periodontal attachment loss/diagnosis, outcome assessment of regenerative therapies.

Aims and Objectives - To assess the attitude towards replacement of missing teeth among patients visiting VSPM DCRC, Nagpur, according to their age, gender and socio-economic status. Materials and Methods– A cross-sectional study was conducted on patients attending the VSPM DCRC, Nagpur ,over a period of one month. A questionnaire containing 9 items was used. Result- A patient population of 310 was surveyed in this study. Out of this, 111 (36%) were females and 199 (64%) were males. Out of these 310 respondents, 248(80%) thought that missing teeth should be replaced and 254 (82%) said artificial teeth are equal to natural teeth in function and appearance whereas 20 (7%) said they created problems.
