Endodontic irrigations exhibit lot of disadvantages with incomplete removal of bacteria. Sodium Hypochlorite (NaOCl) is the prototype irrigation against primary endodontic infections, while 2% chlorhexidine gluconate (CHX) is the best for secondary endodontic infections. \u0000\u0000Aim: This study aims to examine the antimicrobial effect of Acacia nilotica against clinical isolates of endodontic microorganisms compared to traditional(NaOCl and CHX).\u0000 \u0000Materials and Methods:\u0000A total of 12 random clinical samples were collected for bacterial isolation and identification. Clinical isolates were identified as (Streptococcus viridans& staphylococcus aureus). A well identified candida albicans was also used.\u0000Acacia nilotica bark was collected, washed, dried and then grounded to fine powder. Specimens were percolated in methanol, filtrated, and concentrated for crude extract. \u0000Autoclaved Mueller Hinton media were used for antimicrobial sensitivity test. Microorganisms were inoculated and test material was loaded as original and 50% for 24h. Antibacterial activity was measured by zone of inhibition\u0000\u0000Results: \u0000All tested agents showed an excellent zone of inhibition against all microorganisms tested with their original concentration. Acacia nilotica showed excellent ZOI with more linear effect in both concentrations against S. viridans and S. aureus.\u0000\u0000Conclusion: \u0000Acacia nilotica has shown an excellent zone of inhibition in both original and 50% concentration, therefore, it may be an excellent substitute or adjunct irrigation solution of hebetic origin in endodontics. AIM- The purpose of this study was to determine the extent to which individual general histopathologists and other medical professionals are aware of oral pathology as a specialist discipline and whether they perceive a need for, and use of, oral pathology services, to identify lesions of the dental and orofacial tissues which pose diagnostic difficulties. METHODS: A survey-based study was conducted from December 2014 to March 2015. A questionnaire was prepared which was sent to consultant micropathologists in institutes in Navi Mumbai .All the collected data was then tabulated and statistically analyzed. RESULTS: In total, 276 (73%) consultant histopathologists completely filled the questionnaire out of 352, of whom 77% (69/89) were aware of the speciality and 23% (7/30) perceived a need for it,but only23% (7/30) of the consultants refer to oral pathologists. CONCLUSION: General histopathologists are less aware of the services provided by oral pathologists. Thus, there is a need to create awareness of oral pathology services through educational activities of various Associations and reframing the graduate and postgraduate programmes. It also assessed the antibacterial properties of lemon grass oil against Prevotella intermedia (Pi), Porphyromonas gingivalis (Pg), and Aggregatibacter actinomycetemcomitans (Aa) in vitro.\u0000\u0000Materials and Methods: Forty-five periodontally healthy subjects between the age group of 18 and22 years were enrolled in a 4-day plaque re-growth study. Subjects were divided into three groups, i.e., 15 in each group. Mouthwashes were labelled as A (0.25% lemongrass oil mouthwash), B (0.2% Chlorhexidine mouthwash) and C (placebo). Subjects were advised to refrain from any kind of mechanical oral hygiene procedure for four days. Plaque index (PI) was evaluated at baseline and on the fifth day. In vitro testing of lemon grass oil mouthwash was done against strains of Prevotella intermedia, Porphyromonas gingivalis, and Aggregatibactor actinomycetemcomitans, to evaluate the antimicrobial concentration of lemon grass oil mouthwash.\u0000\u0000Results: PI significantly increased from day 1 to day 5 (P < 0.05) in Groups A, B, and C. In inter-group comparison, there was a statistically significant difference between the three groups. However, chlorhexidine showed superior antiplaque activity. Lemon grass also demonstrated antiplaque activity, however, not as superior as chlorhexidine. In vitro test, lemon grass showed effective inhibition against all three bacterial strains Pi, Pg, and Aa at 0.01% concentration.\u0000\u0000Conclusion: Lemongrass oil mouthwash potently inhibits plaque formation and hence can be used as a natural herbal alternative. \u0000\u0000Key Words: lemongrass oil, antiplaque, antibacterial, chlorhexidine.

Statistics show that young individuals experience higher dental anxiety than others. This can be accounted for by the diverse, intense effects of a number of psychological factors in this age range that can cause dental fear and dental anxiety. \u0000\u0000Aim:\u0000To assess the prevalence and level of dental anxiety among dental undergraduate students and interns in Mumbai. \u0000Materials and Methods: \u0000The self-reported assessment scale developed by N. Corah, the Dental Anxiety Scale (DAS) which was later modified with the inclusion of a question over anaesthetic injection was used in the study; it was applied in the form of a questionnaire containing data on name, college, year of study and was used to measure the dental anxiety among the study population. \u0000\u0000Results and Discussion:\u0000Three hundred and eight subjects were recruited into the study. Anxiety-free students were the most numerous group in the sample (184, 59.74%), which were followed by students showing moderate anxiety. Twelve (3.89%) students experienced severe anxiety..
