No ambiente de unidade de terapia intensiva onde dispomos de diversas tecnologias para melhorar o estado funcional e ate salvar a vida do paciente e necessario estabelecer os limites entre qualidade de vida e extensao da vida. A medicina paliativa surge neste ambiente com o objetivo de atender as demandas de todas as dimensoes do cuidado ao paciente e a familia, sendo este o papel da equipe multiprofissional. OBJETIVO: Avaliar o papel da equipe multiprofissional no cuidado do paciente terminal. METODOLOGIA: Trata-se de uma revisao sistematica. As buscas dos artigos foram realizados no PubMed, na Biblioteca Virtual em Saude (BVS) e na Scientific Eletronic Library Online Brazil (Scielo). Inicialmente foram lidos os titulos os artigos, depois os resumos e posteriormente a selecao foi a leitura na integra. Os artigos que foram selecionados foram aplicados de acordo com o criterio PRISMA e o somatorio da pontuacao deveria ser maior que 70% dos itens para fazer parte do estudo. RESULTADOS: Foram encontrados 864 artigos, que apos a leitura do titulo foram lidos 64 resumos, lidos na integra 29 artigos, foram para analise do prisma 12 e foram incluidos no artigo 9. Destes 2 eram revisoes de literatura, 2 estudos multicentricos, 1 pesquisa exploratorio-descritiva, 1 estudo quanti-qualitativo, 1 estudo descritivo, 1 estudo de corte-transversal e 1 estudo randomizado CONCLUSAO: A unidade de terapia intensiva e o ambiente onde a equipe multiprofissional e mais alinhada, porem quando o tema e cuidados paliativos a literatura demonstra que nao ocorre de forma tao sincronica. Os cuidados paliativos merecem maior atencao para que a morte seja conduzida de forma tranquila e digna. Literature suggests that residents aiming to practice in a teaching institution should receive support for the development of teaching competencies as much as they do for medical competencies, but there is limited data on how to recognize teacher identity development in residents. Our study focused on the manifestations of teacher identity development in a group of senior residents in a four-week optional pedagogy rotation. In particular, we were interested in seeing teacher identity development towards the end of the residency program, at a time when clinician identity begins to consolidate.  Methods: A qualitative and exploratory approach guided our study design. Participants were internal medicine residents, (from Yr4 to Yr6) at University of Montreal, who intended working in a university setting and were interested in developing a teaching project. Focus groups were held at three separate moments: 1) before rotation, 2) after rotation and, 3) six months after rotation. Direct content analysis was chosen to analyze our findings. Results: We observed the emergence and the evolution of teacher identity and furthermore, we identified six development pathways, which underpin the development of teacher professional identity: 1) From awkward and stereotyped usage to mastery of concepts and teaching techniques, 2) From the reproduction of implicit norms of the clinical setting to the establishment of pedagogical norms 3) From the feeling of powerlessness in teaching to a feeling of mastery and taking initiatives 4) From teaching intuitively to reasoning pedagogically 5) From a teacher based paradigm to the discovery of the learner-centered paradigm and 6) From an emerging identity as a clinician to the simultaneous construction of twin identities: clinician and teacher. Six development indicators providing operational cues to help recognize different facets of teacher identity development were then identified. Conclusion: The identity development pathways allowed us to gain deeper insights about how teacher identity develops in internal medicine residents toward the end of a pedagogical rotation. In order to systematize this, the National Curricular Guidelines (DCN) of the undergraduate health courses were instituted. Soon, the Institutions of Higher Education (IES) were instructed to train professionals to work in the SUS. Thus, it was advised that these courses developed activities focused on the field of collective health, focused mainly on Primary Health Care (APS). Objectives: To report on the experience of an interprofessional work experience in the Integrated Stage in Collective Health in a public IES in the state of Alagoas; To reflect on how training policies are being put into practice. Methods: 33 field diaries were analyzed by trainees. The internship had a workload of 4 hours per week, in which activities were planned, supervised and developed in an integrated way. Results: The internship took place in a Family Health Unit and Social Assistance Reference Center, with students from Speech Therapy and Occupational Therapy. This period was initially marked by difficulties of interaction among the trainees, both in communication and in the elaboration of resources, but it was noticed that this is inherent in teamwork. The trainees acknowledged that the IES attends the DCN, contributing positively to its formation. Along with this, the study was conducted to compare the efficiency of the Automated Hand Sanitation (AHS) and the Conventional Hand Sanitation (CHS) devices used in hand washing. The researchers utilized descriptive and library research methods. In order to gather data, the researchers conducted observation, interview, and survey questionnaire. Both the AHS and CHS devices were tested and evaluated by selected respondents based on functionality, usability, reliability, performance and supportability or the FURPS Quality Model. To compare and determine the significant differences of the mean when grouped according to hand sanitation systems, t-test for independent samples was used. The results showed that there is significant difference on the evaluation made by the respondents after testing both the devices. Some of the respondents underwent swab collection on some areas of their hands after using both the devices which were subjected to laboratory testing to validate significant changes. The study concludes that the use of the AHS in promoting complete hand sanitation is more effective than using CHS devices. This study aims to identify the barriers to research utilization among nursing supervisors of two Manila City government-run hospitals. The descriptive study was conducted in January to April 2014 among the nursing supervisors of two city-run hospitals in Manila. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) was used to test differences between groups. Respondents perceive three components of the organization subscale as top barriers to research utilization in nursing practice namely: (1) facilities are inadequate for implementation, (2) another staff is not supportive of implementation, and (3) there is insufficient time on the job to implement new ideas. Meanwhile, four components of the communication subscale were considered as barriers to the least extent: (1) research reports/articles are not readily available, (2) statistical analyses are not understandable, (3) implications for practice are not clear’, and (4) ‘the research is not relevant to the nurse’s practice’. Respondent supervisors do not differ in their view of factors that affect research utilization. Replication of the study is recommended in the city’s four (4) other government-run hospitals. This study is a pre-post intervention assessment of elementary school pupils with disruptive behavior, using the Personal Meaning Mapping approach. Three types of intervention used were: (a) heart-to-heart talk (b) focused group discussion and (c) watch a documentary film. Thereafter, a program was designed where the environment of the pupils was considered, i. e., home, school and community. Respondents of the study were Grade VI pupils of four elementary schools in Dasmarinas City, their parents, classroom teachers and guidance counselors. The study found: changes in attitudes and behavior of pupils towards a positive direction; the children were manageable in the post-assessment stage; and, the pupils gained insights of their disruptive behavior. All three interventions were effective in bringing about attitude and behavior changes. In the designed program, the pupils maybe encouraged towards leadership, flexibility, creativity and other skills. The study may be used by policy-makers in improving educational policies; and by environmental planners when planning for academic institutions. The therapeutic massage is an alternative medicine to increase range of motion of knee joints. This study aimed to examine the effects of therapeutic massage on the range of motion of knee joints among patients with osteoarthritis. The samples were 32 osteoarthritis patients seeking treatment at Khlung Hospital. The samples were purposively selected and given therapeutic massage for three weeks. The study tools used are: 1) questionnaire which consists of two parts: demographic characteristics and a form for range movement of knee joint record; and 2) goniometer where range movements of knee joint before and after receiving therapeutic massage were compared by Paired t-test. The results revealed that after receiving therapeutic massage, average scores of range movement of knee flexion and extension were significantly higher than that before receiving therapeutic massage(t = 7.759 p <.05, t = 7.744 pp <.05 respectively). The findings showed that the therapeutic massage could increase the range movement of knee joints. Therefore, therapeutic massage should be promoted as a complementary medicine among osteoarthritis patients.
