Perception of cost-consciousness among medical students: an 11-item scale 医学生成本意识的感知:11项量表

Correia","doi":"10.17267/2594-7907IJHE.V2I1.1968","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.17267/2594-7907IJHE.V2I1.1968","url":null,"abstract":"Introduction: Managing healthcare resources in a cost-conscious way is an important topic in medical education.  A validated instrument to measure the perception of cost-conscious attitudes of medical students could be an important tool for university staff to understanding them and to plan and evaluate educational interventions to address them. Objectives: To validate a scale to measure the perception of cost-conscious attitudes among medical students. Method: Thirteen items from a survey to measure cost-conscious attitudes in medical students were used. Semantic validation and psychometric analysis (exploratory factor analysis, Cronbach alpha, and composite reliability test) were carried out. Results: A sample of 275 participants, of which 62% were female, with an average age of 25±3.1 years, completed the questionnaire. The best structure to measure the perceptions is the one-factor solution, with 11 of the 13 items remaining in the final version. Substantial Cronbach's alpha for this questionnaire was obtained 0.66 and composite reliability was 0.77. It is essential to monitor and evaluate the guidelines proposed by the National Curricular Guidelines for health courses, as well as the programs for reorienting vocational training, so that it is necessary to construct and apply assessment and follow-up tools that act as indicators of course and course corrections. The present research had the objective of evaluating the development of the general competences of undergraduate students of nutrition. An analytical study with a quantitative approach and cross-sectional method using a questionnaire, elaborated and validated by Matia and Coelho (2015) composed of 44 questions, which was applied to students and teachers, from four educational institutions, through the Google forms Software. For the descriptive analysis of the data, we used measures of central tendency and measures of variability and the tests Mann Whitney, Tukey and Test-t, with level of significance of p <0.05, realized through Free software R version 3.1.1. A total of 210 answers were obtained, of which 110 were students of both sexes and 100 of teachers. The mean age of students was 24.66 ± 7.41 years. The sample consisted of a predominance of female participants (87.3%). In the view of the teachers, the evaluated students seem to be developing more competences and abilities of Management in health and Education in health and in the vision of the students there was small emphasis only in Education in health. Summary: The Clinical Semiology Blog is a project developed by monitors of the discipline Clinical Semiology I, together with faculty members from the Bahiana School of Medicine and Public Health with the purpose of developing skills and disclosure of a high quality content. The blog is divided in sections making possible the development of many skills. Summary of the results: The Semiology Blog works as a source of learning to students and monitors. The development of each publication demands different skills, making possible the continuos update and sourcing for knowledge. Keeping active is a difficult choir, so is group work, those are the main difficulty to continue with the project. Conclusion: The Semiology blog has shown to be an important tool of learning to monitor and students. Nursing is one of those professions that suffers from this syndrome, and may also occur in students of this degree. In view of this situation, the purpose of this study was to describe how nursing students can develop SB. This exploratory-descriptive study with a qualitative approach, through a systematic bibliographical review, was performed with the collection of data through the electronic portal SCIELO, VHL and its LILACS database, books and manuals. Thirty publications were selected among articles, theses, dissertations and books, of which 18 were analyzed and used through thematic categorization, through the identification of common characteristics between titles and abstracts of each reference, 12 were excluded because they did not agree inclusion criteria and the other 9 publications were used to complement the elaboration of the article. The research evidenced that there was no occurrence of Burnout Syndrome in the academics, however this public is vulnerable to factors predisposing to the syndrome. Objective: To analyze the scientific production which tackle the use of questionnaires on quality of life in order to follow the disease evolution in subjects with COPD. Methods and Materials: Non-Systematic Review of the literature including articles in English, Portuguese and Spanish, using Medline, SciELO and Lilacs data bases, from 1998 to 2017, as well as technical books on the theme. The terms used were “chronic obstructive pulmonary disease”, “quality of life”, “specific health-related quality of life questionnaires”.  Results/Data Synthesis: The 39 articles found were organized into two sections as follows: studies on validation of quality of life questionnaires (n=22) and studies of comparison between generic and specific instruments for quality of life evaluation (n=17). Conclusions: The evaluation of quality of life for patients with COPD must be incorporated to the clinical segment, as the chronic disease influences several dimensions of patients’ lives. This theme, which was notorious for public health, reached wide popular repercussion through the media. Objectives: To describe the presence of the scientific paradigm in the discourse of health professionals, researchers or journalists who inform the lay public about biological causation. Methodology: All the news made available on the digital platform of the Folha de Sao Paulo newspaper, containing the key term \"Zika and microcephalia\" and published between November 11, 2015 and March 4, 2016, was performed. Scientific elucidation on the subject. The news items were classified as to the presence of certainty or uncertainty about the relationship between Zika and microcephaly in their content and the central idea in the subject titles. Results: Of the 387 reports analyzed, 51.4% related Zika as a causal factor of microcephaly, while 32.8% considered the presence of uncertainty in the relationship. It was verified that the newspaper privileged subjects related to the repercussions due to the diseases, being predominant the report of control measures. Considering the origin of the news, it was significant the use of official sources, presented in 82% of the news. Conclusion: The scientific paradigm was disregarded, ignoring the uncertainty principle and the scientific debate. Objetivo: avaliar as tendencias de mudancas no eixo Mundo do Trabalho na formacao do enfermeiro, em instituicoes de ensino superior de Curitiba e Regiao Metropolitana. Materiais e Metodos: Pesquisa convergente com abordagem mista, com 63 participantes de 9 escolas de enfermagem de Curitiba e Regiao Metropolitana. A coleta de dados ocorreu pela aplicacao do 'Instrumento de visao estrategica para desenvolvimento institucional dos cursos de graduacao da area da saude' por Grupo Focal. Resultados: No eixo Mundo do Trabalho, 88,9% das escolas atingiram a tipologia Avancada e 11,1% Inovadora com tendencia Avancada. Emergiram 9 Unidades de Contexto. Conclusao: As escolas estudadas levam em conta a amplitude do mercado de trabalho para o enfermeiro. A Atencao Basica em Saude entendida pelos participantes, como uma das dimensoes mais solidas de atuacao, embora condicionada a questoes politicas e sociais. Os programas curriculares promovem a discussao das possibilidades de insercao no mundo do trabalho na saude, incluindo a pratica liberal ou assalariada. Ha liberdade de escolha, de acordo com as especificidades profissionais, afinidades pessoais, empreendedorismo, oportunidades de mercado.
