Using the Panel Mean Group Autoregressive Distributed Lag (PMG-ARDL) model, the study validates findings with fully modified OLS (FMOLS) and Common Correlated Effects (CCR) methodologies. Results indicate a positive, statistically significant relationship between the governance index and LCF, suggesting effective governance enhances environmental sustainability. In contrast, democracy, industrialization, and urbanization negatively affect LCF, implying these factors strain resources and hinder sustainability. This study uniquely conducts a bibliometric analysis of the 100 most-cited journal articles on Halal supply chain management based on data retrieved from Scopus (2008–2023). The study involved VOSviewer and Harzing's publish or perish as the main tools for data analysis. A total of 100 journal articles and reviews were analysed using keyword co-occurrence analysis and bibliographic coupling to identify several themes within the context of Halal supply chain management. The keyword co-occurrence analysis produced six themes, including “consumer behaviour and the application of blockchain in Halal supply chain”, “bibliometric analysis and literature review in the Halal food supply chain”, and “Islam and Halal logistics in Malaysia”. While bibliographic coupling produced seven themes, such as “food integrity and blockchain in Halal supply chain management”, and “the analysis of Halal logistics and supply chains on aspects such as adoption of Halal logistics, challenges and opportunities, service quality, and consumer behaviour”. Despite its limitations, the study highlights the novel insights and knowledge gaps on aspects linked to Halal supply chain management. With this aim, a bibliometric and content analysis of the journal articles indexed to the Web of Science database and Scopus on this topic (through September 2023) was carried out. Bibliometrix and VOSviewer were used for data processing. The results revealed that the University of Tarapacá (Chile) is at the center of scientific production in the field, standing out for its productivity and influence, which has allowed the consolidation of a body of researchers recognized for their impact in the area. Regarding the topics addressed, three main areas of study were found: 1) pathologies and toxicity, 2) life, society and cultural interactions, and 3) funerary traditions and mummification. The inclusion of the settlements and the artificial mummification process of the Chinchorro Culture on the World Heritage List by UNESCO has been the impetus behind this study. The primary objective is to understand how the integration of religious and cultural values contributes to achieving <em>Belum Ruhui Rahayu</em>, a state of peaceful coexistence. The research employs a qualitative approach, utilizing two main data collection techniques: systematic observation to monitor and record relevant behaviors, and in-depth interview. Key findings reveal that the villagers of Tewang Darayu effectively internalize and implement religious moderation through a harmonious blend of cultural practices and religious teachings. The study highlights that the values of inclusivity, unconditional love, openness to differences, and active engagement in community life are central to achieving <em>Belum Ruhui Rahayu</em>. These values align with the principles of religious moderation and contribute to social stability and cohesion. The contribution of this study lies in its demonstration of how traditional values and cultural practices can complement religious moderation efforts. It offers insights into the practical application of these values in everyday life, providing a model for other communities seeking to enhance interfaith harmony. The novelty of this research is its socio-theological perspective, which bridges theoretical concepts with practical implications, offering a comprehensive understanding of how religious and cultural dimensions interact to foster a peaceful and inclusive society.</div></div>","PeriodicalId":74826,"journal":{"name":"Social sciences & humanities open","volume":"11 ","pages":"Article 101271"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2025-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"143093961","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The rapid mutation of the virus into numerous variants further exacerbated the policy puzzles faced by governments, health officials, and medical scientists. This study investigates the macroeconomic policy implications of the Japanese government's response to the COVID-19 pandemic using an exploratory data analysis (EDA) framework. The analysis compares Japan's COVID-19 statistics with those of selected OECD member countries as well as the economic implications of Japan's COVID-19 policy response, focusing on households and businesses. The results indicate that compared to selected OECD member countries, confinement measures and behavioral changes kept Japan's COVID-19 transmission rate low. In addition, less stringent measures, such as intermittent state of emergency and voluntary stay-at-home policies adopted by the Japanese government, appear to have paid off. Public debt increased, wages fell moderately, unemployment rose moderately, and private consumption slowed, but recovered quickly in the last quarter of 2020. Crucially, expansionary fiscal stimulus to both households and businesses staved the worst effects of the pandemic. The evidence points to post-COVID-19 economic recovery policy measures that ensure direct and robust government funding to SMEs, attractive investment climate to accumulate private capital, and investment in digital economy transformation that encourage and pave the way for hybrid working system.</div></div>","PeriodicalId":74826,"journal":{"name":"Social sciences & humanities open","volume":"11 ","pages":"Article 101452"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2025-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"143854974","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To do so, the present article adopted a case study approach, involving semi-structured interviews with a sample of 16 disabled women and girls who were victims of violence, as well as their guardians. The article identified various forms of violence, with economic and psychological violence being the most common, followed by physical and societal violence. Perpetrators included family members (mother, father, brother, stepmother, husband, and relatives) and, to a lesser extent, coworkers and strangers. The contributing factors were multifaceted, primarily individual and societal, followed by economic and familial influences. Psychological repercussions were the most prevalent effects, followed by social and physical impacts. The study concludes that violence against disabled women and girls in Algeria is pervasive and multifaceted, with significant psychological, social, and physical consequences. This paper presents and discusses findings related to professional development from an online, case-based teacher training course for a pedagogy of meaning in life. Seventy Brazilian teachers participated in the course, and the activities involved analyzing two teaching cases and writing one case. The course evaluation drew upon four data sources: (1) a survey administered at the conclusion of the first module, (2) a follow-up survey at the end of the final module, (3) participants' responses to questions within the two analyzed teaching cases, and (4) teaching cases created by the participants. The data were subjected to thematic analysis. The findings show that the course enhanced participants’ reflective practices by facilitating the acquisition of new knowledge, promoting reflection from experience with the support of a group of learners, bridging the gap between theory and practice, encouraging teachers to reassess their professional roles, and fostering the discovery of meaning and emotional growth. Essential teacher knowledge for implementing a pedagogy of meaning was unveiled through the teaching cases: comprehensive perspective on the human being, sharpening of conscience, cultivation of choices, facilitating dialogue, and contextualization of the curriculum.
