Modifiable lifestyle factors are critical for healthy aging. Among these, the 24-h Movement Guidelines (24 h-HMG)-encompassing Physical Activity (PA), Sedentary Behavior (SB), and Sleep (SLP)-have gained increasing attention for their potential benefits. This review systematically summarizes evidence on the associations between these three behaviors and cognitive function and mental health in older adults.

Methods: This review identified 19 studies from PubMed, Web of Science, and Scopus, involving a total of 80,049 participants, all aged over 60 years.

Results: (1) Most of the older adults' time was spent in SB and SLP, while time spent in PA was limited. About 1.60 % to 20.00 % of older adults met all three guideline recommendations. (2) A higher number of guidelines met was positively associated with better cognitive function and mental health. However, different combinations of behaviors were found to have differential associations with cognitive and mental outcomes. (3) Replacing 5-60 min per day of SB with either moderate-to-vigorous physical activity (MVPA) or SLP may yield the greatest cognitive benefits. Replacing 30 min per day of SB or SLP with MVPA was associated with improvements in mental health outcomes, including reduced depressive symptoms and feelings of loneliness. However, these benefits may vary depending on individual sleep needs and should be approached with stratified interventions.

Conclusions: Adherence to the 24 h-HMG contributes to the development of cognitive function and improvements in mental health in older adults. In the quest to find a theoretical basis for this observation, a systematic review was conducted over the past 5 years, and the literature indicates that this phenomenon is particularly pronounced in the aggression directed towards nurses and physicians. Regardless of geographical location, there is a higher prevalence of violent incidents in environments where interaction and collaboration between patients and healthcare professionals are essential. These aggressive and violent behaviors encompass a variety of deliberate actions that are often misconstrued and perceived as entitlements by patients in a state of illness. Although physical violence is conspicuous due to the visible marks it leaves, psychological aggression is the most commonly reported form of violence by nurses and doctors. Unfortunately, verbal violence often goes unnoticed and is inadequately quantified. Continuous exposure to violence poses a significant threat and risk factor to all healthcare professionals, making it essential to address and mitigate this issue to ensure a safe and healthy working environment for all involved in healthcare delivery.
","PeriodicalId":7141,"journal":{"name":"Acta Psychologica","volume":"260 ","pages":"105611"},"PeriodicalIF":2.7,"publicationDate":"2025-10-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"145257118","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"心理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) was utilized to analyze these data, complemented by Importance-Performance Map Analysis (IPMA) to inform strategic interventions. The results confirmed significant relationships within the TPB framework, highlighting perceived behavioral control and behavioral intentions as crucial determinants of actual behaviors. Subjective norms had a comparatively weaker influence, aligning with Taiwan's cultural perception of fire safety as an individual rather than societal obligation. Additionally, a moderation analysis identified stronger intention-behavior links among females. These findings enhance existing theoretical models and inform effective public safety strategies. The primary objective of this study is to quantitatively assess the impact of wearable technologies (such as smartwatches, biosensor wristbands, sports GPS trackers, and electromyographic sensors) on key physiological and psychological indicators, including heart rate (HR), heart rate variability (HRV), recovery rate (HRR), psychological stress levels, and stress management capabilities among professional Chinese tennis players. The study sample comprised 100 participants (54 males and 46 females, with a mean age of 21.52 years). The research employed objective physiological measurements alongside the Perceived Stress Scale (PSS-10) as assessment tools. The findings confirm that wearable technologies contribute to improvements in the studied parameters and a reduction in stress levels among professional tennis players. In the intervention group, heart rate data indicated superior cardiorespiratory fitness, while the recovery rate following exertion was significantly higher among athletes using wearable devices (p < 0.001). Heart rate variability measurements demonstrated that tennis players in the intervention group exhibited a more favorable balance of autonomic regulation and increased parasympathetic activity, indicative of more effective recovery mechanisms. Psychological stress levels in the intervention group were significantly lower, whereas stress resilience was higher (both cases at p < 0.001). Pearson's correlation analysis revealed significant associations among the studied constructs. The results highlight the practical value of wearable technologies in professional tennis, further expanding the current scientific knowledge on their applicability and effectiveness.
","PeriodicalId":7141,"journal":{"name":"Acta Psychologica","volume":"260 ","pages":"105706"},"PeriodicalIF":2.7,"publicationDate":"2025-10-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"145249205","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"心理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It specifically investigates how learners' psychological engagement with AI tools relates to language performance. A mixed-methods explanatory design was adopted. Quantitative data were collected from 120 beginner-level CFL university students in Southeast Asia and analyzed using correlation and multiple regression techniques. Speaking proficiency was assessed through both script writing and oral project presentations. To enrich interpretation, qualitative data were obtained from interviews, learner-generated artifacts, and instructor observations with a purposive subsample of 30 learners. Results indicated that technical proficiency, perceived usefulness, and positive attitudes toward AI were significant positive predictors of speaking performance. In contrast, high levels of trust in AI were negatively associated with outcomes, suggesting diminished learner autonomy. A strong correlation emerged between AI usage and script writing scores, while a weaker but significant relationship was observed for oral presentation. Notably, written and oral performance were not significantly correlated, highlighting distinct developmental trajectories in these modalities. Qualitative results revealed that learners who engaged critically and strategically with AI achieved better outcomes than those who relied on it passively. This study contributes to understanding the psychological mechanisms underlying AI-assisted language learning. It highlights the importance of fostering mindful and autonomous engagement with technology to support speaking proficiency, and underscores the need for skill-specific instructional strategies in AI-integrated educational settings.
","PeriodicalId":7141,"journal":{"name":"Acta Psychologica","volume":"260 ","pages":"105703"},"PeriodicalIF":2.7,"publicationDate":"2025-10-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"145249200","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"心理学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Yet, enterprise participation in UIC remains uneven and unpredictable, limiting the effectiveness of policies aimed at cultivating talent through academic-industry partnerships. To address this gap, this study integrates Social Cognitive Theory and Symbiosis Theory to develop a cognitive-symbiotic framework that explains the mechanisms driving enterprise willingness to participate in UIC and how such participation facilitates enterprise-level human resource development. Drawing on survey data from 398 Chinese enterprises and structural equation modeling, the findings reveal: (1) Observational learning of successful symbiotic relationships (β = 0.187), symbiotic self-efficacy (β = 0.312), and symbiotic outcome expectations (β = 0.385) significantly enhance enterprise participation willingness, while perceived symbiotic imbalance risk (β = -0.156) inhibits it; (2) Policy support indirectly promotes participation through a dual mediation pathway-enhancing symbiotic self-efficacy (indirect effect = 0.163) and reducing imbalance risk perception (indirect effect = 0.037), with a total indirect effect of 0.232; (3) Innovation capability significantly moderates the effects of cognitive-symbiotic drivers on participation, amplifying their influence in high-innovation enterprises. This study uncovers the cognitive-psychological and relational mechanisms underpinning enterprise engagement in UIC and highlights how such engagement contributes to organizational learning, capability upgrading, and long-term human resource development.
