Based on the perspective of engineering philosophy, this study considers railway engineering knowledge as its research object. Accordingly, we start our discussion from the basic connotation and essential characteristics of railway engineering knowledge, explores the evolutionary power of railway engineering knowledge based on demand development, and comment on the evolution of railway engineering knowledge on this basis. The development process of vacuum tubes in China is explored. The development of China’s electronics industry during the Anti-Japanese War is summarized. Finally, the efforts made by Chinese in the early stages of the development of the electronics industry are discussed. Moreover, the article concluded that China has not succeeded in independently manufacturing vacuum tubes due to its recent industrial underdevelopment, and the process of localizing technology is extremely slow due to the rapid introduction of U.S. tube technology. However, the philosophy of 形 itself and using it as a connection to Tao and 器 are not explicitly discussed. In the early 20th century, at the human-nature interface, where technology originated, the category “affordance” emerged. Affordance refers to the possibility contained in the environment for action and indicates the complimentary relationship between a living being and its environment, which also manifests profound connotations to 形 . This paper pays special attention to the application of interdisciplinary analysis methods and the philosophical analysis of the economic research results of engineering value, focusing on the philosophical analysis of engineering value from the perspective of creationism and process theory. This paper briefly analyzes the technical design, value demand design and aesthetic design of engineering products and some philosophical issues raised. Additionally, it provides a reflection of the atomic utopia. The collation and analysis of archival reports, memoirs of witnesses, news reports, and relevant comments show the extensive implications of early ideas, technological choices, and interest relations in the field of nuclear application. The Cold War promoted superpowers to use the existing nuclear foundation to shape the atomic utopia, and the national independence movement encouraged other countries to enter the abovementioned utopia using nuclear power to achieve their own strategic objectives. COVID-19 prevention and control, regarded as emergency engineering management with complexity, involves multiple parties of interest and presents many ethical dilemmas. Focusing on the various challenges in the operation of the epidemic prevention and control emergency system during early outbreaks in China, the conflicts of interests and values among the four stakeholder groups-local decision makers, medical scientists, health workers, and the public, as well as the moral dilemmas and ethical choices faced by them are discussed.
