{"title":"[Comparison of the life quality and recurrence in patients with concealed penis after degloving and root fixation surgery with three different suture material].","authors":"Hinshui Mao, Yidong Liu, Yingbin Wang, Xiaojiang Xu, Yanjun Zheng","doi":"","DOIUrl":"","url":null,"abstract":"<p><strong>Objective: </strong>To compare the life quality and recurrence in patients with concealed penis after degloving and root fixation surgery with three different suture material.</p><p><strong>Methods: </strong>From March 2011 to April 2015,64 cases with concealed penis were treated by degloving and root fixation with three different suture material, including PDS in 21 cases, Prolene in 23 cases,common absorbable suture in 20 cases. The operative time,intraoperative bleeding, postoperative life quality, recurrence and complication were retrospectively analyzed.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>There were 14 cases(6 months later) and 7 cases(1 year later) in Prolene group who complained negative effect on their life quality, while none in PDS and common suture groups (both P < 0.05).6 months after operation, recurrence happened in one case in Prolene group,8 cases in common group and none in PDS group (both P < 0.05).There were no significant difference in operative time, bleeding, as well as life quality, recurrence and complication within 3 months between these three groups (all P > 0.05).</p><p><strong>Conclusions: </strong>PDS is suitable for root fixation in patients with concealed penis. {"title":"[Comparison of costochondral nasal framework reconstruction and silicone graft implantation in improving the midface depression of Binder syndrome].","authors":"Le Tian, Jianjun You, Huan Wang, Sheng Wang, Bo Zhang, Zuozuo Xu, Xiaona Lu, Fei Fan","doi":"","DOIUrl":"","url":null,"abstract":"<p><strong>Objective: </strong>To compare the clinical effects of costal cartilage grafts and silicon with auricular cartilage in correcting the midfacial depression of Binder syndrome.</p><p><strong>Methods: </strong>We followed up eighteen cases of Binder syndrome treated in our department between 2008-2015.Silicon with auricular cartilage grafts were applied for six cases, costal cartilage scaffold reconstructed in 12 cases. MB-Ruler software was used for preoperative and postoperative measurement of lateral profile. Data obtained was analyzed statistically.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>Silicone group: Angle of convexity of the face with the nose reduce (6.66 ± 2.05) °,Nasal tip-length quotient increase 0.053 ± 0.015,Tip projection anterior glabellar line quotient increase (7.07 ± 4.35) % (P < 0.05). {"title":"[Anatomy basis and clinical application of the flap based on the perforator of plantar arch].","authors":"Jian Lin, Heping Zheng, Tianhao Zhang, Zhijiang Wang, Deqing Hu, Hua Lu","doi":"","DOIUrl":"","url":null,"abstract":"<p><strong>Objective: </strong>To report the anatomy basis and clinical application of the flap based on the perforator of plantar arch.</p><p><strong>Methods: </strong>From December 2013 to June 2016,25 cadaveric feet which were injected with a mixture of red gelatin were used to observe: the origins, courses, branches, distributions of the dorsal perforators flap based on the plantar arch; the anastomoses between the back perforators of plantar arch and rete arteriosum of dorsale pedis. Based on the anatomy research,11 cases with soft tissue defect at forefoot were treated with the perforator flaps.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>11 flaps survived completely with primary healing. The flaps were followed up for 2-36 months with good match of texture and color.</p><p><strong>Conclusions: </strong>The flap based on the perforator of plantar arch has constant and rich blood supply. {"title":"[Expression and significance of the proteins in TSP-1 and NF-κB signal pathways of infantile capillary hemangioma].","authors":"Yongting Zhang, Weili Xu, Suolin Li, Zhiyong Zhong, Yingchao Li, Wenbo Wang, Chi Sun","doi":"","DOIUrl":"","url":null,"abstract":"<p><strong>Objective: </strong>To explore the significance of the relative proteins in thrombin sensitive protein(TSP-1) and nuclear factor kappa B (NF-κB) signal pathways by detecting their expressions in different phases of hemangioma and the relations between them and microvessel density(MVD).</p><p><strong>Methods: </strong>Forty cases with hemangioma were randomly selected and divided into proliferative group(n =21) and involutional group(n =19) according to Mulliken standard.The expressions of TSP-1,CD36,p59fyn,Caspase-3,p38MAPK,NF-κBp65,p-IκBα,p-IKKβ,VEGF and CD34 in endothelial cells were detected by immunohistochemistry.The relevance between the proteins in TSP-1 and NF-κB signal pathways and MVD were compared and analyzed respectively.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>The expressions of TSP-1,CD36,p59fyn,Caspase-3,p38MAPK in proliferative hemangioma were all lower than those in involutional hemangioma (F=32.582,47.575,11.645,18.824,13.140;P =0.000,0.000,0.002,0.000,0.001).Conversely, the expressions of NF-κBp65,p-IκBα,p-IKKβ,VEGF in proliferative hemangioma were higher than those in involutional hemangioma(F =7.807,6.323,5.988,4.216;P =0.009,0.018,0.021,0.049).Meanwhile,MVD were different between the two groups(F =7.256,P =0.012).The expressions of TSP-1, CD36, p59fyn and MVD showed a negative relationship(rs =-0.420,-0.519,-0.388;P =0.021,0.003,0.034). {"title":"[The anatomy and clinical application of medial sural vessels].","authors":"Jingyu Zhang, Yongxin Huo, Shunhong Gao, Zhiliang Yu, Yazhi Duan, Wenlong Zhang, Zeyang Yu","doi":"","DOIUrl":"","url":null,"abstract":"<p><strong>Objective: </strong>To study the anatomical characteristics of the medial sural vessels and the clinical effects of treatment for leg skin and soft tissue defect with free flaps.</p><p><strong>Methods: </strong>6 adult lower limbs were treated by latex perfusion and then observed the origin of the blood supply to gastrocnemius muscle, measure the number of the arteries and veins, the length and diameter of the medial sural vessels. From July 2009 to May 2013,15 clinical cases of serious skin and soft tissue defect were repaired by using free flap with medial sural vessels. The areas of wound surface were ranging from 13 cm × 7 cm-24 cm × 12 cm.10 of them were treated by anterolateral thigh flap, the other of them were treated by latissimus dorsi flap. The donor site were directly sutured or repaired by free skin graft. .</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>The blood supply of gastrocnemius mucle was multifocal. The medial sural arteries and lateral sural arteries were both origin from popliteal artery. The medial sural vessels include 1 artery and 2 veins. With the length 4-7 cm (average,5.4 cm),the arterial diameter of the origin 2.6-2.9 mm (average,2.7 mm) and the entry point 1.9-2.3 mm (average,2.1 mm),the vein diameter of the origin 1.8-2.2 mm (average,2.0 mm)and the entry point 2.7-3.4 mm(average,2.9 mm).Totally 15 cases flaps were survived with primary healing. The mean follow-up period was 16.5 months(range,11-21 months),The flaps had satisfactory appearance, soft texture, good elasticity and achieved protective sensation at the last followed-up.</p><p><strong>Conclusions: </strong>The medial sural vessels are with constant anatomical position, deeply position, hardly damage, long pedicle. {"title":"[Suspension of Check ligament for the treatment of congenital severe blepharoptosis].","authors":"Xing Wei, Li Yang, Yueli Liu, Pingping Liu","doi":"","DOIUrl":"","url":null,"abstract":"<p><strong>Objective: </strong>To investigate the therapeutic effect of Check ligament suspension for congenital severe blepharoptosis.</p><p><strong>Methods: </strong>From Jan.2015 to Jan.2016,28 cases with severe congenital ptosis were treated by suspension of Check ligament to tarsus. The postoperative effect, curve of upper eyelid and complication were recorded.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>All the patients were followed up for 3-12 months. Complete correction was achieved in 24 cases, while undercorrection in 4 cases. Among the 24 cases with good results, they had symmetric palpebral fissure and natural curve of upper eyelid. Eye closure function recovered within 6 months in 19 cases. No complication, like corneal exposure, happened. {"title":"[Preliminary clinical research with rib cartilages anomalies in patients with microtia].","authors":"Meirong Yang, Bo Pan, Haiyue Jiang, Weiwei Chen, Qingsong Li, Ye Zhang, Chuan Li","doi":"","DOIUrl":"","url":null,"abstract":"<p><strong>Objective: </strong>To investigate the characteristics and constituent ratio of rib cartilages anomalies in patients with microtia.</p><p><strong>Methods: </strong>We conducted a retrospective study of the clinical and imaging data of 230 consecutive patients with microtia from November 2014 to September 2015 in Plastic Surgery Hospital. Pearson x2 test and Spearman analysis were used to analyze the relationship between microtia and rib cartilages anomalies.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>A total of 75 cases (32.6%) were documented with rib cartilages anomalies, including 4 cases (1.7%) with numerical variations,16 cases (7.0%) with structural changes,63 cases (27.4%) with abnormal articulations and 8 cases with two types of anomalies. Abnormal attachment to the sternum of the eighth rib cartilages was observed frequently (18.7%),whereas 10 cases (4.7%) with the seventh rib cartilages failing to attach to the sternum. The constituent ratio of rib cartilages anomalies in microtia Ⅰ, Ⅱ, and Ⅲ was 11.5% (3/26),32.8 % (58/177) and 51.9% (14/27), respectively. The patients with microtia Ⅲ were observed to have a higher ratio of rib cartilages anomalies than those with microtia Ⅱ. Similarly, patients with microtia Ⅱ were found to have a higher ratio of rib cartilages anomalies than those with microtia Ⅱ (P =0.007).</p><p><strong>Conclusions: </strong>The constituent ratio of rib cartilages anomalies is high in patients with microtia. And the constituent ratio is varied with the grades of microtia. {"title":"[Global DNA methylation changes during palatal formation in fetal mice induced by 2,3,7,8-tetrachlrodibenzo-p-dioxin].","authors":"Chen Wang, Xingang Yuan, Yuexian Fu, Shana Zhai","doi":"","DOIUrl":"","url":null,"abstract":"<p><strong>Objective: </strong>To investigate global DNA methylation and DNA methyhransferases participation in the mechanism of cleft palate induced by maternal exposure to 2,3,7,8-tetrachlrodibenzo-p-dioxin (TCDD)in mice.</p><p><strong>Methods: </strong>40 pregnant C57BL/6J mice were randomly divided into 2 groups: the control group(n =20) and TCDD-exposure group(n =20).On gestation day 10.5 (GD10.5),the mice in TCDD-group were orally administrated with TCDD 28 μg/kg, while the mice in the control group received equivalent corn oil. The pregnant mice were sacrificed on GD13.5,GD14.5,GD15.5,GD16.5,GD17.5,fetal palates were collected for analysis. Global DNA methylation levels were detected by Methylamp TM Global DNA Methylation Quantification Ultra Kit through an ELISA-like reaction. The expression levels of DNA methyltransferases were examined by quantitative real-time PC R(q-PCR).IBM SPSS 20.0 software was applied for statistical analysis. Kolmogorov-Smirnov test was used for normal distribution check, and the distribution was normal. Independent t-test was carried out among two groups. P < 0.05 was considered statistically significant.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>The global DNA methylation level in TCDD-exposure group was significantly higher than that in control group on GD13.5 (49.52% ±4.03% vs 33.42% ± 6.78%,P < 0.01),while lower on GD14.5 (24.10% ±2.29% vs 30.12% ±3.92%,P <0.05) and on GD16.5 (32.77% ±0.98% vs 36.45% ± 3.27%,P < 0.05).The expression level of Dnmt1 mRNA in TCDD-exposure group was higher than that in control group on GD13.5(1.28±0.11 vs 1.01 ±0.10,P<0.05) and on GD16.5(1.04 ±0.05 vs 0.81 ±0.01,P <0.01).The expression level of Dnmt3a mRNA in TCDD-exposure group was higher than that in control group on GD13.5 (1.15 ±0.17 vs 0.81 ±0.02,P <0.05)and on GD16.5 (1.11 ± 0.06 vs 0.96 ± 0.06,P < 0.05).The expression level of Dnmt3b mRNA in TCDD-exposure group was higher than that in control group on GD14.5(0.97 ±0.06 vs 0.72 ±0.06,P <0.01).</p><p><strong>Conclusions: </strong>It is supposed that complicated mechanisms are exist to regulate global DNA methylation levels in palatal tissue of fetal mice. {"title":"[Free thinning anterolateral thigh flap for reconstruction of soft tissue defects after resection of buccal carcinoma].","authors":"","doi":"","DOIUrl":"","url":null,"abstract":"<p><strong>Objective: </strong>To investigate the therapeutic effect of free thinning anterolateral thigh flap for reconstruction of soft tissue defects after resection of buccal carcinoma.</p><p><strong>Methods: </strong>From January 2012 to April 2015,15 cases with buccal carcinoma received radical resection and immediate reconstruction with free thinning anterolateral thigh flap. The flap size ranged from 8 cm × 6 cm to 12 cm × 8 cm.</p><p><strong>Results: </strong>Flap necrosis happened in one case. The other 14 flaps survived completely with good color and texture. The patients were followed up for 6-36 months with good appearance and function. There was no malfunction on donor site. One case(T3N1M0) died 16 months after operation.1 case(T3N1M0) had local recurrence 8 month later.</p><p><strong>Conclusions: </strong>The free thinning anterolateral thigh flap has reliable blood supply with minimal morbidity on donor sites.
