A deadbeat-like predictive torque/current controller is used to control the machine side converter, while a deadbeat power control method in αβ frame is used to control the grid side converter. Both sides achieve nice steady state performances requiring few tuning efforts. Both the machine and grid side predictive controllers are realized on a commercial-off-the-shelf FPGA based platform. By using a single-cycle-timed-loop (SCTL) technique, the whole computation time is quite short (less than 4 μs), which makes the calculation time compensation not required. The effectiveness of the presented method is verified through experimental data.","PeriodicalId":6857,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE 8th International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference (IPEMC-ECCE Asia)","volume":"45 1","pages":"1468-1473"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79298231","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Due to the fact that the saliency of a normal SPMSM is usually weaker than that of an Interior PMSM, the SPMSM is seen as a non-salient machine whose sensorless capability is greatly limited. As a result, the sensorless control for the SPMSM is investigated in this work. In the existing SRF-HFPS method, only an inherent DC offset showing in α/β-axis currents is eliminated. However, multiple saliencies (AC harmonic) existing extensively in the AC machines should be considered and decoupled as well. Therefore, in this work, a high pass filter and an adaptive notch filter are adopted for the DC and AC harmonic decoupling, respectively. To meet the minimum requirement of saliency intensity, the weak spacial saliency needs to be enhanced. Thus, a d-axis current planning method is designed accordingly to expand the feasible area of the saliency tracking based sensorless control method. The effectiveness of proposed improvements has been verified by experimental results.","PeriodicalId":6857,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE 8th International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference (IPEMC-ECCE Asia)","volume":"1 1","pages":"885-890"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"79299040","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

So the contact stroke, stroke and pressure of contact spring, motor angle are obtained and analyzed through the simulation model. Finally, the influence factors of closing bounce are studied such as the moving contact quality, pre-pressure and stiffness coefficient of contact spring. However, the medium-voltage level (typically reach to 50 kV) brings safety risks in the experimental debugging process of new circuit topologies and algorithms for medium-voltage interface converters if directly in a full-scale power environment at the beginning. The scale-down testing platform has brought many merits for the analysis and test of medium-voltage distribution grid with multiple grid-connected converters. Unfortunately, due to the lack of proper base value selection method for DC side parameters of DC/AC type converter, such a scale-down model is still unavailable till now. The theoretical reason is that presented quasi-per-unit models for DC/AC type converters resulted in the missing of physical meaning for DC side variables. In order to solve the problem, this paper proposes a novel DC side base value selection method based on the rules that the voltage relationship of DC/AC converter's two sides complies with the AC `transformer' principle, and their current relationship satisfies the `power conservation' principle, and the detail calculation procedure of the scale-down model parameters is listed. These contributions provide the bedrock for performing the analysis and test of new circuit topologies and algorithms for the medium-voltage interface converters.","PeriodicalId":6857,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE 8th International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference (IPEMC-ECCE Asia)","volume":"1 1","pages":"3621-3626"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84439369","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Position and moving posture of the ship will be changing when a marine ship is sailing in ocean, as a result, solar total irradiance on PV panels will be different with those on the land, which is changing with fluctuations any time. Then the PV output power(PVOP)will appear fluctuations with the rolling ship, which increased the uncertainty of the original PVOP. In order to exactly estimate the solar total irradiance in sailing ship and deal with the problem of PVOP fluctuations, this paper establishes a suitable calculation model for solar total irradiance (STI) and designs a suitable hybrid energy storage system (HESS) and its controller based on STI in sailing ship. The controller of HESS can smooth the PVOP fluctuations caused by the rolling ship, and to a certain extent, solve the problem that the PV power generation is difficult to schedule, which makes PVOP incorporated into the grid more reliable, economical and environmentally friendly.","PeriodicalId":6857,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE 8th International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference (IPEMC-ECCE Asia)","volume":"31 1","pages":"2983-2987"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84933238","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

They supply high power pulse to a plasma chamber. Recently, many semiconductor products are used in electronic devices, which are getting smaller and smaller. In proportion to this, the machines which manufacture semiconductor products require higher frequency High/Low (HL) pulse power to the RF generators. A higher frequency HL pulse can be obtained by decreasing an output capacitance. However, this leads to a decrease of the output voltage stability. To solve this conflict, iLref deadbeat control method is proposed to improve them. The stability of the proposed control method was verified and improved through the evaluation, which used the equivalent transfer function of the control system. The experimental results prove that the experimental circuit was able to generate the stable 120 V/12 V HL-pulse output without voltage overshoot when the input voltage was 240V. The results also show the rise time (0 % to 99 %) was about 510 μs, that is the slew rate at rising of the output voltage was about 210 kV/sec.","PeriodicalId":6857,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE 8th International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference (IPEMC-ECCE Asia)","volume":"27 1","pages":"609-615"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85976679","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The unique properties of SMC material include three-dimensional (3-D) magnetic and thermal isotropy, very low eddy current loss, and prospect of very low cost mass production. Therefore, the application of SMC materials in electrical appliance, particularly in electric motors, has attracted great interest in research. However, SMC materials also have some drawbacks, e.g. low permeability, high hysteresis loss and low mechanical strength, and hence a direct replacement of electrical steels by SMC would not necessarily lead to satisfaction or improvement of motor performance. To fully explore the application potential of the SMC materials, their unique properties should be fully employed and at the same time the effects of their drawbacks should be avoided or minimized. This paper aims to present some key issues on design of SMC electric motors based on the extensive research in the past two decades by various researchers including the authors of this paper. The key design issues are discussed and some conclusions are drawn for future effort in this area.","PeriodicalId":6857,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE 8th International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference (IPEMC-ECCE Asia)","volume":"121 1","pages":"3007-3011"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76729358","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Quite a few solutions have been developed to increase power conversion efficiency of a single converter. However, existing work concerning efficiency issue on system level is scarce. On the basis of hierarchical multilevel control theory, this paper proposed a coordinative control strategy on tertiary level to optimize steady-state operating points for each source converter in the system, reducing losses and improving the overall efficiency. Based on the quadratic loss model, the optimal power distribution ratio between two converters is firstly analyzed. By introducing the concept of equivalent converter loss model, a forward-backward sweep calculation method is generalized to N-parallel-converter system. Furthermore, the successive switching points of N converters are precisely designed to maintain minimum system losses under full load range. According to datasheets of typical industrial products, calculation examples are presented to demonstrate the validity of this proposed strategy. The maximum and average efficiency improvement is 1.55 and 0.56 in percentage respectively. Considering the rising development of renewable energy generation and microgrids, this efficiency increase will contribute considerable energy and economic savings in the long run.","PeriodicalId":6857,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE 8th International Power Electronics and Motion Control Conference (IPEMC-ECCE Asia)","volume":"95 1","pages":"163-170"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76254803","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
