We propose that tissue fluidity, the transition of tissue from a solid-like state to a fluid-like state, plays a pivotal role in enabling the reorganization of the epidermal structure and cellular spatial order, which is essential for effective tissue expansion. Drawing parallels between fluidity in materials science and biological systems, we suggest that the fluid-like behavior in the skin may be critical for mechanical adaptability. Understanding the influence of tissue fluidity may open pathways for modulating this process, potentially enhancing tissue expansion efficiency, reducing procedural duration, and improving clinical outcomes. This perspective highlights the importance of investigating the biological dynamics of tissue fluidity and exploring the potential for targeted manipulation of fluidity-related pathways to optimize tissue expansion. Such advancements could profoundly affect regenerative and reconstructive surgical practices.</div></div>","PeriodicalId":65600,"journal":{"name":"Chinese Journal of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery","volume":"7 1","pages":"Pages 56-58"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2025-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"143548871","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This case report investigates the efficacy of PLLA in treating skin laxity in the gluteal area of three male patients aged 36, 41, and 50 years who were treated at the Antony Barbosa Institute between May 2023 and June 2024. The Male Gluteal Contour Method™: C-Tech Collagen Boost was employed using a C-shaped injection technique with an 18G × 70 mm cannula. Patients underwent four sessions of PLLA injections, reconstituted with bacteriostatic sterile water and lidocaine, at 4–6-week intervals. Improvements in the gluteal contour and skin laxity were noted in all patients, with increased collagen production contributing to enhanced muscle definition and firmness. Minimal side effects such as mild bruising, swelling, and tenderness were reported, and no nodules were observed. This study highlights the importance of tailored treatment plans that cater to the specific needs of middle-age and older men. The C-shaped injection technique allowed for an even distribution of the biostimulator while respecting male anatomy. PLLA is a promising nonsurgical solution for improving male gluteal contour and skin quality, although further research with larger groups is warranted to establish more definitive guidelines for its use in male gluteal augmentation.</div></div>","PeriodicalId":65600,"journal":{"name":"Chinese Journal of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery","volume":"7 1","pages":"Pages 23-29"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2025-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"143549091","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Recent advancements in genome sequencing technology have highlighted the importance of vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) and its receptor (VEGFR) in the formation and alteration of vascularity. However, definitive reports regarding mutations associated with this locus and treatment experiences remain scarce. Herein, we report a clinical case of multiple venous malformations with mutations in VEGFR3 (<em>FLT4</em>). We implemented a comprehensive approach, including local lesion excision of the left foot and trunk, oral propranolol administration, and local physiotherapy. After two years of follow-up, the patient’s left foot venous malformation did not recur, and he expressed satisfaction with the outcomes of the combined therapy. In this review, we examine the impact of subglandular, subpectoral, and subfascial implant planes on postoperative outcomes and complication rates. Subglandular placement offers simplicity but is associated with higher risks of capsular contracture, hematoma, and rippling in patients with low tissue coverage. The subpectoral plane, widely adopted for its natural appearance and reduced capsular contracture risk, may cause dynamic deformity due to muscle contraction. Although technically challenging, the subfascial plane combines the benefits of soft tissue support and reduced implant displacement. We highlight the importance of choosing an optimal implant plane tailored to each patient’s anatomical and aesthetic needs to enhance surgical outcomes and minimize complications. Both adipocyte- and ADSC-derived EVs regulate local inflammatory levels, tumor progression, and insulin sensitivity. These two types of EVs also have significant therapeutic effects on damage repair, including wound healing, angiogenesis, myocardial damage, vessel re-endothelialization, bone and cartilage regeneration, muscle repair, and nerve repair. With regard to wound healing, microRNA-21, microRNA-126, microRNA-31, and long non-coding RNA-H19 accelerate the proliferation and migration of fibroblasts, human immortalized keratinocytes, and endothelial cells via the PI3K/Akt/ERK pathway or <em>fibrillin 1</em>. ADSC-derived EVs contain various growth factors that are beneficial for wound healing. Numerous miRNAs in ADSC-derived EVs and β3-adrenergic receptors on brown adipocytes exhibit protective effects against myocardial infarction. Proteins in adipocyte- and ADSC-derived EVs play a role in promoting vessel re-endothelialization and regulating vasodilation. Angiogenesis is beneficial for the regeneration and repair of injured bone, cartilage, muscle, and nerves. Compared with adipocyte EVs, ADSC-EVs contain a greater variety of miRNAs and proteins that promote tissue regeneration. EV therapy is a promising cell-free therapy, and EV-loaded materials have been used for wound healing and myocardial damage.
