Wheel wear is accompanied by the appearance of additional inertia forces that affect the rolling characteristics of the wheel and the contact forces between the wheels and the rails, which are also included in the calculation of forces in the couplings that form the longitudinal dynamics of the train. An analysis of the applied schemes of low-temperature plasma generators is carried out. Based on this analysis, the optimal scheme for the low-temperature plasma generators under consideration is selected and their main technical characteristics are presented. It has been established that, with a rational design and layout scheme and the correct choice of processing modes, the thermal efficiency of plasma processes increases with a simultaneous increase in the service life of the cathode of the low-temperature plasma generator. Currently, equipment is repaired according to a predetermined guideline, which cannot guarantee the elimination of emergency situations, as it is imperfect. It is proposed to introduce a package of nondestructive testing of the equipment on the shop floor. The proposed package will allow for regular checks of the current condition of equipment components and assemblies. The novelty and uniqueness of technical solutions is assessed by the degree to which the synthesized solutions differ from existing ones. The potential for development and improvement of technical solutions, as well as the ability to respond to environmental changes, is assessed. This article discusses two cases of determining the novelty of synthesized solutions in comparison with the basic set of options and reference options. Razumovskii","doi":"10.1134/S1052618824700808","DOIUrl":"10.1134/S1052618824700808","url":null,"abstract":"<p>This study addresses the practical application of the digital image correlation method for experimental investigation of significantly inhomogeneous residual stress fields using the “large hole” drilling technique. Specially designed polymer material samples were used, in which a high-gradient residual stress field was created based on the approach proposed by the authors. Recommendations for optimal relationships between the diameter of the hole-indicator of residual stresses and the geometric parameters of the sample were developed based on the analysis of numerical modeling results of typical problems. The research results demonstrate the effectiveness of using the digital image correlation method and the authors’ software for mathematical processing of tangential displacement fields to determine significantly inhomogeneous residual stress fields based on the “large hole” drilling method.
