To address this problem, a new formalism, multi-resolution DEVS (MR-DEVS) is put forward. The definition of multi-resolution entity (MRE), which is the basic object MRM deals with and base for MR-DEVS, is given. Then, MR-DEVS, combining and extending multiple popular existing dynamic structure DEVS formalisms, is elaborated in detail. MR-DEVS is capable of capturing all key characteristics of MRM essentially, including adapting to resolutions changing automatically by reflection, describing consistency mappings and modeling causation by consistency mapping functions and modeling emergence by functions of coupling among sub-entities constituting the same MRE. Any other existing formalism can't do these all.","PeriodicalId":6408,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Environmental Science and Information Application Technology","volume":"5 1","pages":"855-864"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-03-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"77317267","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A kind of land-use change detection based on patch objects of remote sensing image is studied in this paper. The patch objects of image come from the polygons of historical vector land-use map. The method calculates the weighted correlation coefficient of each patch object in order to identify whether the patch object is changed. Two different time-series SPOT images in a suburb of Shanghai are used to verify the method. The result shows that the method can detect the changes effectively and raises automation level of land-use updating investigation.","PeriodicalId":6408,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Environmental Science and Information Application Technology","volume":"98 1","pages":"493-495"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-03-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90262973","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main idea is to estimate normal direction on each point around the boundary of current loop of manifold and normalize the normal growth rate during a settled time step to counter the disequilibrium in different directions. In order to enhance the reliability of our approach, linear and nonlinear conditions are considered. It is necessary to state that the time step should be appropriately small to meet the adjacent intervals of points on the boundary of manifold. As example we compute the two-dimensional stable manifold of the origin in Lorenz system. Both successes and shortcomings of our method are presented.","PeriodicalId":6408,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Environmental Science and Information Application Technology","volume":"25 1","pages":"267-269"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-03-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"91063149","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Analysis of the kinetic data show that the adsorption kinetics of 1-octanethiol and 1,8-octanedithiol can be satisfactorily described by Diffusion controlled Langmuir(DCL) model, irrespective of concentration. The rate constants of 1-octanethiol and 1,8-octanedithiol are almost invariable at different concertrations, however, the fluctuant range of 1,8-octanedithiol is larger than that of octanethiol. The simulation results show that the regional air-sea coupled model RegCM3-POM has a better performance in simulating the mean summer (from June to August) precipitation over China, and the distribution of the rainband in the coupled model is more accurate than that in the uncoupled model RegCM3. The improvement of the rainfall simulation ability is remarkable over the Yangtze River Valley and in South China. Compared with the ECMWF ERA40 re-analyses, the convective precipitation simulation ability of RegCM3-POM has been improved. The space correlation coefficients between the results of RegCM3-POM and ERA40 data are above 0.6, and the coefficients between the results of RegCM3 and ERA40 data are about 0.4. The stratiform precipitation simulation ability of RegCM3-POM is also improved. However, both the two models overestimate the percentage of convective precipitation, and underestimate the percentage of stratiform precipitation. In order to improve the simulation ability of precipitation, the cloud precipitation schemes of the models may be modified.","PeriodicalId":6408,"journal":{"name":"2009 International Conference on Environmental Science and Information Application Technology","volume":"34 1","pages":"1305-1307"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-03-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"73873066","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
