In this paper, risk assessment theory is employed firstly to maintenance tactics of transformer, the probability and severity of all failure modes of transformer are measured synthetically, and risk maintenance tactics of usual transformer's failure modes are obtained .Based on these, 5×5 risk matrix and 4 kinds of risk ranges are adopted to express the risk of all transformer's failure modes, and responding risk maintenance strategies are obtained; finally, a example is analysis to verify the correctness of the risk assessment frame and risk maintenance strategies. It's shown that in point-plane electrode geometry, the negative breakdown voltage UNBDV is always higher than the positive one (U<sub>PBDV</sub>) for all investigated gases. While in a sphere-plane electrode system, this rule is not respected. Depending on the electrode gap, the type of gas and its pressure, U<sub>NBDV</sub> can be either lower than U<sub>PBDV</sub> (dry air), or first higher and then lower or yet first lower and then higher; the inversion appears at a given pressure that it's not the same according to the gas, gap and polarity. It is important for the study of partial discharge behavior in electrical apparatus to know the degration of insulating materials. This paper focuses on the analysis of acoustic signal produced by partial discharge in insulation oil. The needle-plane electrode system is assembled to simulate the partial discharge in insulation oil. Wavelet transform is used to analyze acoustic signal. The energy distribution of each level and time domain waveform is analyzed. A low-noise amplifier and a de-coupler are used to detect the acoustic signal with high-sensitivity. The process of electrical treeing includes three stages: initiation, propagation and breaking down. In this paper, the initiation phenomena of electrical treeing in XLPE cable insulation are studied. XLPE samples are obtained from a commercial XLPE power cable, in which electrical trees have been grown from pin to plane. The process of electrical treeing in XLPE samples are uninterrupted recorded by an online microphotograph system. The growing time and structure of tree initiation subjected to various voltages, frequencies and pin-plane spacings are analyzed. The results show that trees in different structures have the similar initiation structure. With the larger voltage and shorter pin-plane spacing, the time for initiation was longer and less dispersed. This paper studies the characteristics of space charge distribution of SiC/LDPE nanocomposites surface modified by the coupling agent KH-560. The experimental results show that the interface between the nano-SiC particles and polyethylene itself is the main source of the trap, and add different nano-particles have different implications on space charge distribution of nanocomposites, and there is a certain inhibition of the charge injection of the same polarity. It can be analyzed that the coupling agent has important implications on the nature and level of the traps, because of the coupling agent KH-560 molecule containing asymmetric side chain and terminal group structure which prone to deep traps with negative polarity tendency. A technique, called arbitrary waveform impedance spectroscopy (AWIS), has been developed as one of its modified versions. It is capable, among other features, of obtaining a broad dielectric response spectrum from one single measurement, provided the applied test voltage is rich in harmonic components. As AWIS is a technique, rather than an instrument, it can be optimized to reach signal to noise ratio in the 106 range. However, both the electrode arrangements as well as the accuracy of the measurement setup limit the precision of the characterization. An air reference method and a contact-free electrode arrangement are presented in this paper for enhancing the dielectric characterization accuracy through avoiding problems introduced by electrode contacts. It is shown that by performing a calibration with electrode gap filled with air under the same conditions as the material is tested, the air reference method can improve the measurement accuracy substantially. This type of approach also eliminates the need for a detailed model of the analog measurement circuit. In conjunction with the contact-free measurements and harmonic-rich waveforms, the approach allows for avoiding complicated and time-consuming sample preparation procedures. This paper mainly focus on the insulator strings operating in a 500kV power network in Chongqing, tests and analyzes the pollution depositing rules and flashover performance of them. Test results indicate that: the value of equivalent salt deposit density (ESDD) on the top surface of insulator is lower than that on the bottom, as well as the value of non-soluble deposit density (NSDD);the accumulation rate of NSDD is heavier than that of ESDD; electric field distribution and precipitation exert a strong influence on the insulator obviously; at the same pollution level, the flashover voltage of natural contaminated insulator is 2 times as high as that of artificial polluted insulator, which mainly caused by the difference of pollution materials and non-uniform pollution distribution on the insulator surface. In this solution, the control strategy of Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) that only sampling the input current is used to achieve maximum power point for solar modules, power converter is used with parallel mode to achieve the battery and super capacitor hybrid energy storage. The new power supply system has a higher energy density and power density. When distributed sensors communicating, at wide temperature range, the new power supply system can instantaneous output high power. The influence of water content on the aging performance of natural ester-paper insulation is compared with that of mineral oil-paper insulation. Sealed stainless vessels containing copper, insulating paper with different initial water content and dielectric fluid (camellia oil based natural ester and mineral oil) were aged at 130 °C for 80 days. The degree of polymerization (DP) of paper, furfural concentration in oil and acid number in oil were measured during the aging. The results show that the water could accelerate the aging of insulating paper in both natural ester and mineral oil, while the degradation rate of insulating paper in natural ester is much lower than that in mineral oil.
