 This research is a qualitative descriptive study. This research with sociolinguistic studies focuses on aspects of code switching. The data sources in this study are three video content shows owned by Turah Parthayana. The data collection technique in this study used the free-involved viewing method.
 Based on the results of the analysis, it can be concluded that the three video views are contentYouTube From that, the code switching data found was 44 data. The forms of temporary code switching and permanent code switching were both found by the researcher, namely 5 data. Forms of code switching found at the phrase level found 16 data, 10 data clause levels, 5 sentence levels, and 3 data inter-sentence levels. Perekonomian pada warga Lapak sarmili di RT 005/02 secara produktif sehingga dapat menghasilkan nilai tambah yang tinggi dan pendapatan yang lebih besar. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah semua siswa kelas VIII SMPN 4 Medan dengan total siswa sebanyak 347, sedangkan sampel yang digunakan berjumlah 32 siswa, ditetapkan dengan teknik random sampling. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode kuantitatif eksperimen. Instrumen pada penelitian ini terdiri observasi dan tes menulis teks eksplanasi yang dinilai berdasarkan struktur teks, kaidah kebahasan, dan mekanik pada teks eksplanasi. Nilai rata-rata yang diperoleh siswa sebelum diterapkan pembelajaran dengan model discovery learning berbantuan media pembelajaran video yaitu 63,54, sedangkan nilai rata-rata yang diperoleh siswa setelah menggunakan model discovery learning berbantuan media pembelajaran video yaitu 76,30. Maka, dapat disimpulkan nilai tes setelah diterapkan model discovery learning berbantuan media pembelajaran video lebih tinggi dari sebelumnya. Hasil analisis data pada pengujian hipotesis menunjukkan bahwa thitung = 5,77, kemudian melihat tabel t, taraf signifikansi 5%, dan df = N – 1 = 32 – 1 = 31, diperoleh ttabel = 1,69. Utilizing Wodak's (2001) Discourse-Historical framework, this paper reveals how the two authors use some common discursive strategies, mainly representational and predicational, in making explicit representations of Singapore and creating a strong sense of national identity. In their poetry, authors frequently utilize referential linguistic devices such as first personal pronouns to attach specific human traits that help personify Singapore and express an in-group identity that functions as a unifying mechanism that connects Singapore, including its people, together. Lexical repetitions and rhetorical figures are also used to convey more emphasis and reveal the authors' intended meanings or messages. The authors employ various descriptive words to create better and more accurate imageries of Singapore as a varied community and as a nation. Selain itu penelitian ini secara diskursif membangun gagasan sosial tentang identitas nasional negara tersebut. Dengan menggunakan kerangka wacana-sejarah dari Wodak (2001), hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dua penulis menggunakan dua strategi diskursif yang telah banyak digunakan, yaitu secara representasional dan predikatif, dalam membuat representasi eksplisit dan identitas nasional Singapura yang kuat. Pada puisi mereka, para penulis sering menggunakan perangkat linguistik referensial, seperti kata ganti orang pertama, dalam mencantumkan karakteristik khusus yang dapat menggambarkan warga Singapura dan identitas kelompok yang dapat mempersatukan Singapura, termasuk warga negaranya. In the learning process, psychopragmatic mastery is expected to strengthen the psychological condition of teachers and students through informative, manipulative, and persuasive sentences so that each student can optimize learning tools to help them achieve learning goals. During the pandemic, it is important to examine teachers’ self-efficacy and psychopragmatics mastery to support students in addressing their online learning difficulties. A qualitative study to investigate these issues was therefore conducted. Participants of this study were teachers from all over Indonesia, consisting of 350 middle and high school teachers. Data were collected through (1) a survey of teacher efficacy during online learning, (2) observations of the forms of efficacy built by the teachers during learning activities and outside the classroom, (3) interviews with the teachers to identify forms of efficacy used to shape students' learning fundamentals. It was found that the teachers tended to increase their efficacy through strong lesson planning. In addition, they often modified learning tools so that the multimedia used could foster enthusiasm and learning motivation for both themselves and the students. The teacher's efficacy in teaching is the key to analysis in psychopragmatic studies because data in the form of snippets of teacher speech can influence student motivation. The traditional pottery craftsmen in this area have faced issues with both the aesthetic values and quality standard of their products, even having defective products due to poor processes. Despite these challenges, pottery craft in Pagelaran is considered a cultural heritage that has contributed to the welfare of craftsmen and the local community, as well as the preservation of local wisdom. To improve the quality of their products, the craftsmen in Pagelaran have focused on the way they use tools and materials, the technical production process by linking technology and the environment, the method used, and the effect on future environmental changes. This study employs a descriptive qualitative and action research, which involves the craftsmen community in Kampung Edukasi Wisata. Data is collected through observation and in-depth interviews and analyzed using the 6P simultaneous stages technique proposed by Winarno and Robfiah (2020). The findings of the study show that while the tools and materials used in the pottery production are still traditional, the pottery of Pagelaran is leading to innovative aesthetic products. Pottery production activities have an impact on the physical environment, requiring technology, methods, and cultural impact in the exploitation of the environment under the cultural ecology perspective. Despite the traditional production process, it has been integrated with user demands so that the quality of the product is improved through the standardization of the combustion process, product decoration, and additional touches of aesthetic values on the products. As rambutan skin has been rarely used and reported as a natural dye, this study explores its usage on leather. In this study, we applied rambutan skin as a natural dye to tanned leather from goat crust skin using the creative eco-printing method. We used an experimental method with a pre-experiment one-shot case study design. Each sample was dyed at different times using distinct solutions during the mordant process. The solution was made from rambutan skin and different solvents, such as alum (AI2(SO4)3), calcium oxide (Ca(OH)2), and ferrous sulfate (FeSO4). The results show that crust-tanned leather from goat skin can be successfully colored with natural dye from rambutan skin. The more amount of dyes used results in a darker color. In addition, the type of mordant used produces a different color. In the eco-printing process, the background color is influenced by the type of mordant used on the blanket, which serves as a cover for the eco-print process. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menerapkan kulit rambutan sebagai pewarna alami yang diterapkan pada bahan kulit kambing tersamak jenis crust dan penerapan pada proses berkreasi eco printing. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode eksperimen dengan bentuk pre-eksperimen jenis one-shot case study. Setiap sampel dicelup dengan jumlah pencelupan yang berbeda lalu dilakukan proses mordant dengan larutan yang berbeda yaitu tawas (AI2(SO4)3), kapur (Ca(OH)2), dan tunjung (FeSO4). Hasil menunjukkan bahwa kulit kambing tersamak jenis crust dapat diberi warna dengan larutan pewarna alami kulit rambutan. Semakin banyak jumlah pencelupan, maka warna yang dihasilkan semakin pekat dan jenis mordant yang digunakan menghasilkan warna yang berbeda. Because people want to make good use of the Internet for communication, such information is available in English as a global language. One of the advantages of having ready information in English is that local cultural products can now have better chances to compete globally with products from other cultures. One of those products is Indonesia’s Batik Semarangan, which is produced in Semarang, the capital city of Central Java. Through studying the motifs found in Batik Semarangan, an intercultural communication awareness of rich hybrid culture can be achieved. To ensure awareness, a group of English Department’s literature students was trained to do library and field research on Batik Semarangan. By applying Roland Barthes’ semiotics, students were encouraged to explore the hidden reasons for the unique choice of Batik Semarangan motifs. By doing this activity, not only were the students equipped to be more critical in researching local products but the lecturer has also helped preserve and elevate Batik as a traditional heritage that has global potentiality. Melalui mempelajari motif yang ditemukan di Batik Semarangan, kesadaran komunikasi antarbudaya akan budaya hibrida yang kaya dapat dicapai. Untuk memastikan kesadaran tersebut, sekelompok mahasiswa Sastra Inggris dilatih untuk melakukan penelitian kepustakaan dan lapangan tentang Batik Semarangan. Dengan menerapkan semiotika Roland Barthes, mahasiswa didorong untuk mengeksplorasi alasan-alasan tersembunyi dari pemilihan motif batik Semarangan yang unik. As part of multi-years’ research and development which aims to develop digital module and learning management systems (LMS) for the students, this preliminary needs-based research focuses on the students’ and lecturers’ perceptions regarding the need for developing LMS in the Critical Literacy course in Bachelor of English Language Education, Universitas Negeri Jakarta. The research participants were thirty-two students, and a lecturer who responded to questionnaires, interviews to lecturer, and focus group discussions. The research data was the students’ needs based on Hutchinson and Water’s theory which could be divided into target needs (necessities, lacks and wants) and learning needs. The study was conducted with the qualitative approach with the Successive Approximation Model (SAM) which focuses on Preparation Phase research design. Throughout the information gathering and the Savvy Start, the phase rotated through needs analysis and library study. The results demonstrate that there is a gap between the expected outcomes of the Critical Literacy course and students' ability to understand various texts, especially in understanding the interpretation of data in the form of graphs, tables, and numbers. Also, students need exposure to various texts such as news items, critical analysis of texts, and current issues in education. While the difficulty experienced by lecturers when teaching is that students' language skills (especially reading) are very varied. Also, the lecturer and students want Critical Literacy material that makes students think critically about topics related to critical literacy theory, strategy, and its practice. The preferred activities in this course include debates, discussions, criticizing social campaigns, advertisements and short films, and topics on digital literacy. These factors encompass the hindrances and the success of ethnic minority students in adjusting themselves in speaking classes. From 95 first-year students in English Language Teaching program, 18 of them have different minor ethnicities. This study adopted a qualitative study by using semi-structured interviews as an instrument of research. The data then transcribed, coded, and analyzed into different themes that are in line with the research objectives. The results of this study show that the difficulties experienced by students from ethnic minorities in adjusting themselves in speaking classes are the lack of confidence, shyness, and anxiety, speaking opportunities and vocabulary masteries, feeling isolated, and additive bilingualism from peers. However, these hindrances can be solved by various factors: teachers’ decision in designing discussed topics and speaking activities in classroom setting.Keywords: ethnic minority students; speaking class; hindrances; encouragementFaktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi kemampuan berbicara siswa etnis minoritas dalam pembelajaran bahasa InggrisPemikiran bahwa kemampuan berbicara sangat erat berkaitan dengan lingkungan dan konteks sosial siswa menjadikan tantangan tersendiri bagi siswa etnis minoritas dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris. Faktor-faktor ini mencakup kendala dan keberhasilan siswa ethis minoritas dalam menyesuaikan diri di kelas berbicara. Dari 95 siswa yang berada di semester pertama program Pendidikan Bahasa Inggris, 18 diantaranya berasal dari etnis minoritas yang beragam. Penelitian ini mengadopsi desain kualitatif dengan menggunakan wawancara semi terstruktur sebagai instrumen. Data ditranskrip, dikodekan dan dianalisis kedalam beberapa tema sesuai dengan fokus penelitian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kesulitan yang dialami siswa etnis minoritas dalam beradaptasi di kelas berbicara diantaranya rasa percaya diri, malu dan cemas, pengalaman berbicara dan perbendaharaan kata, perasaan terisolasi dan aditif bilingualism dari teman.
