The word 'merantau' itself is a manifestation of leaving the original territory and occupying new territory. For Minangnese migrants in Yogyakarta, Rumah Makan Padang (Padang Restaurant) not only a place to eat but also it has function a warm place among Minangnese. In using ethnographic approach, this research try to explain how the interaction among Minangnese in Rumah Makan Padang. The finding shows, first: This fraternal interaction only emerge in Rumah Makan Padang owned by Minangnese. This fraternal interaction sucas having conversation with Minang Language and telling stories about their hometown. Second, Rumah Makan Padang is a place to remedy the taste of Minang Food. Suku Minang merupakan salah satu suku di Indonesia yang memiliki adat merantau. Kata ‘merantau’ sendiri merupakan bentuk manifestasi dari meninggalkan teritorial asal dan menempati teritorial baru. Secara khusus dengan menggunakan pendekatan etnografi penelitian ini berupaya untuk menjelaskan bagaimana persaudaraan antar perantau Minang terjadi di rumah makan padang. Temuan menunjukkan, Pertama, interaksi persaudaraan terjadi berupa saling mengobrol dengan menggunakan Bahasa Minang dan bercerita perihal kampung halaman. Kelekatan persaudaraan ini membuat perantau Minang merasa sedang makan di kampung halaman sendiri. Brand community is a community of consumers of a specific brand that are socially constructed and shaped. However, research on this topic are mostly investigated at large enterprises context, leaving some gaps at small-medium enterprises (SMEs) context. SMEs, particularly in developing countries such as Indonesia, hold important role to the country’s economic development. Therefore, this study aims to examine how SMEs build social media-based brand community by using qualitative research as its approach and applied a case study research method to investigate a Yogyakarta-based SME, AB. Findings show that AB build social media-based brand community on Facebook group with the help of its loyal customers. This study has been done qualitatively in focus on the literature review and discourse analysis method as the main approach. Over time, the halal label has been led to be an inseparable aspect of lifestyle segment in certain society. It did not occur only in the food industry, but also been penetrated into various other industries, one of those is known as halal tourism. According to Global Muslim Tourist Index (GMTI), this phenomenon is not only the Muslim countries Phenomenon, but also increase in the non-Muslim countries. The halal tourism business is expanding and start to be the main economical income by Muslim minority countries, including Japan and Germany. The presence of these two countries in developing halal tourism is unique, because it is not a country with a Muslim majority, but it is precisely the target of foreign Muslim tourists, including Indonesians. Although Indonesia has been named the best halal destination according to GMTI, in fact the interest in halal tourism developed by Japan and Germany is far more promising. No doubt this has become a challenge for Indonesia to enter the this global market competition. Therefore, compared to following the market trend with profit oriented, Indonesia as a Muslim-majority country should deliver halal tourism towards the target of justice and welfare of the people. Tulisan ini bertujuan untuk memahami wacana dan kepentingan yang mengiringi perkembangan wisata halal di Jepang dan Jerman, sebagai negara non-muslim. Hal ini dikarenakan, meskipun berstatus negara non-muslim, keduanya mengalami peningkatan yang cukup signifikan dalam hal pengembangan dan tingkat kedatangan turis muslim. Dengan menggunakan pendekatan teori hegemoni oleh Laclau dan Mouffe yang menekankan pada aspek logic of difference dan chain of equivalent sebagai kunci utama internalisasi wacana hegemonik, tulisan ini dimaksudkan untuk melihat beragam wacana dan kepentingan mengiringi perkembangan wisata halal, baik yang tersirat maupun tersurat. Untuk mancapai tujuan tersebut, metode pengumpulan data akan dilakukan dengan studi kepustakaan yang fokus pada beragam artikel, berita, serta laporan-laporan terkait perkembangan industri pariwisata halal di Jepang dan Jerman. Dari berbagai data dan analisa, tampak jelas bahwa meskipun ada beragam wacana dan kepentingan, perbedaan tersebut berada dalam wacana besar neoliberalisme. Sehingga, wisata halal di negara non-muslim dapat dipahami sebagai sebuah wacana hegemonik yang hanya menguntungkan negara dan pasar tetapi mengesampingkan masyarakat. A lot of Korean restaurants, either in small or big scale, are not only attracting people living in Yogyakarta but also attracting the tourists coming to Yogyakarta. This paper is the result of quantitative and qualitative research with the research object students of Diploma Korean Language Program, Vocational College, Gadjah Mada University. The respondents were selested because those students are millenial generation who follow the fast growing of Korean restaurants in Yogyakarta while at the same time the main customers of those restaurants. As result of the research, the reasons why Korean restaurats exist in Yogyakarta because they need to expand their market outside of Korea and many people are interested coming to Korean restaurants because it is the easiest way to taste Korean cuisine as part of Korean culture without coming to South Korea. Moreover, the difficulties experienced by customers when eating in Korean restaurants are questioning whether the food or drink served is halal (because pork and alcohol are the common dishes in Korea) and the price which is more expensive than the price of Indonesian local foods . Tulisan ini membahas mengenai fenomena menjamurnya berbagai restoran Korea di Yogyakarta dalam kurun waktu sepuluh tahun terakhir. Berbagai restoran Korea, baik dalam skala kecil maupun besar tersebut tidak hanya menarik bagi warga yang tinggal di Yogyakarta tetapi juga turis yang datang ke Yogyakarta. Tulisan ini merupakan hasil penelitian kuantitatif dan kualitatif dengan objek penelitian mahasiswa Prodi D3 Bahasa Korea, Sekolah Vokasi, Universitas Gadjah Mada. Objek tersebut dipilih karena mereka merupakan generasi millenial yang mengikuti perkembangan pesat tumbuhnya restoran Korea di Yogyakarta sekaligus penikmat utama dari restoran-restoran tersebut. Tulisan ini juga membahas mengapa restoran Korea tersebut banyak muncul di Yogyakarta dan mengapa banyak orang tertarik untuk pergi ke restoran Korea di Yogyakarta. The generation which is connected with the use of social media often uploads every social activity, including culinary. Posting pictures before eating on social media becomes an activity that is usually done by millennials before enjoying culinary. This study aims to determine the motives of the Ponorogo millennial generation in the act of posting before eating when they enjoy a culinary dish. This type of research is descriptive qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. Interview, observation, and documentation triangulation techniques are used to collect data from 20 informants who actively use social media to post before eating. The results showed that the motives of the millennial generation to take pictures before eating are as a means to share fun or hobbies, share information about current culinary recommendations, and show self-existence. Kuliner kekinian masih menjadi tujuan kuliner yang digandrungi oleh generasi milenial. Generasi yang dalam kehidupannya erat dengan penggunaan media sosial ini sering kali mengunggah setiap aktivitas sosialnya termasuk dalam hal kuliner. Membagikan gambar yang hendak dimakan ke media sosial menjadi suatu aktivitas yang biasa dilakukan oleh generasi milenial sebelum menikmati sajian kuliner. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui motif generasi milenial Ponorogo dalam melakukan tindakan posting before eating ketika akanmenikmati sajian kuliner kekinian. Metode penelitian yang digunakan penelitian kualitatif deskriptif dengan pendekatan fenomenologi. Teknik triangulasi yaitu wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data dari 20 orang informan yang aktif menggunakan media sosial untuk melakukan tindakan posting before eating. In this study will discuss how the response and community involvement in the development of the village of Papang to become an ecotourism village, as well as social impacts for the community that emerged after tourism activities developed in the village of Pampang Ecotourism, both positive and negative impacts. To be able to produce findings and an adequate description of the social impacts that occur in Pampang Ecotourism Village, this research uses a descriptive method with the aim of being able to provide a description of the phenomena of social change obtained through interviews with community leaders and village activists and observations. From this research, it can be seen that the development of tourism in Pampang has more positive impacts on the community compared to the negative impacts including the growing spirit of togetherness, strengthening community organizations, increasing public awareness of preserving and protecting the environment through tourism and Ecotourism villages to become pilot villages in environmental innovation and management. Perubahan pariwisata yang saat ini berkembang dari pariwisata massal ke bentuk pariwisata minat khusus, mendorong salah satu desa di Kecamatan Paliyan yaitu Pampang untuk menjadi desa Ekowisata dengan mengusung konsep konservasi dan edukasi. Dalam penelitian ini membahas bagaimana respon dan keterlibatan masyarakat dalam pengembangan Desa Papang untuk menjadi desa ekowisata, serta dampak sosial bagi masyarakat yang muncul pasca aktivitas pariwiata berkembang di Desa Ekowisata Pampang. Penelitian ini mengunakan metode deskriptif dengan tujuan untuk dapat memberikan gambaran fenomena-fenomena perubahan sosial yang diperoleh melalui wawancara tokoh masyarakat dan penggerak desa Ekowisata maupun observasi. The central point outlined in this study is to explain the dynamics of social movements of people affected by evictions due to the Geo Maritim Park development plan. Analysis obtained from observations of field data through indept-interview with purposive sampling method shows that the case of the resistance movement of people affected by eviction experienced a ‘defeat’ in the public space. The defeat was identified because the strength of legal legality (land certificates) owned by residents was not strong and some even refused demonstrations initiated by the People’s Alliance to Refuse Eviction (Aliansi Rakyat Menolak Penggusuran—ARMP). As a case in the vortex of conflict, the people’s struggle to seize their rights was captured by elitist interests in the Sultan’s ground and the Pakualaman’s ground.Artikel ini hendak mengurai benang kusut kasus penggusuran warga Parang Kusumo Kabupaten Bantul Yogyakarta. Menjadi titik sentral yang diuraikan dalam kajian ini adalah menjelaskan dinamika gerakan sosial warga yang terkena dampak penggusuran akibat rencana pembangunan Geo Maritim Park. Analisa yang di dapat dari hasil pengamatan data lapangan melalui indept-interview dengan metode purposive sampling memperlihatkan bahwa kasus gerakan perlawanan warga terkena dampak penggusuran mengalami ‘kekalahan’ di ruang publik. Kekalahan tersebut teridentifikasi karena kekuatan legalitas hukum (sertifikat tanah) yang dimiliki warga tidak kuat bahkan sebagian menolak aksi demonstrasi yang diinisiasi oleh Aliansi Rakyat Menolak Penggusuran (ARMP). Teori ini menjelaskan bahwah sejarah merupakan proses yang berulang, perubahan sosial tidak bergerak menurut garis lurus melainkan melingkar. Menurut teori tersebut, sejarah menjadi faktor penentu dalam proses perubahan sosial. Peristiwa sejarah tidak dapat dipisahkan dari pelaku sejarah (actor), yakni profil orang besar yang pada akhirnya mempengaruhi jalannya perubahan-perubahan yang terjadi pada masyarakat. Keberhasilan Nabi Yusuf as menyelamatkan rakyat Mesir dari masa kemarau yang panjang patut untuk dikaji, baik posisinya sebagai utusan Allah dan statusnya sebagai manusia biasa yang memiliki daya tarik tersendiri. Dengan menggunakan metode analisis tafsir tematik (maudhu’i) untuk menafsir ayat-ayat al-Quran dan metode analisis fenomenologi untuk menganalisis topik yang terkait dengan fenomena sosial yang ada dalam kisah Nabi Yusuf. Penulis mendapatkan konsep perubahan sosial dari kisah Yusuf as atas tiga aspek, yaitu integritas ketokohan yang mantap, konsep perubahan sosial yang jelas, dan proses perubahan sosial yang terencana.
