The compilation and development of this Indonesian language textbooks also refer to the teaching design of content and Integrated Language Learning (CLIL) to prepare and design the content of textbooks. This study analyses the kinds of parenting styles evident in the film 20th Century Women (2016). The study specifically focuses on the main character Dorothea’s ways of raising her son Jamie, who is forty years apart in age. The analysis points to three different parenting styles adopted by Dorothea: (1) authoritative, (2) authoritarian, and (3) permissive. The study confirms that generation gap has influenced the kinds of parenting styles adopted by the character. To support PjBL, teachers have integrated the use of technologies in the classroom since technologies enable teachers to modify teaching-learning activities. One of the modes of technology commonly applied is video project-based learning (VPBL) due to its benefits for both teachers and students. Research reveals the benefits of integrating PjBL and VPBL by focusing on the learning outcomes. In addition, self-reflection, as the ability of students to assess themselves regarding how and what they have learned and done in the tasks, might empower students to be better. This study highlights the benefits of self-reflection in English language learning through VPBL. VPBL empowers learners to create videos on topics of interest, using English as the communication medium. This study is a kind of literature research summarizing the findings of the previous studies on the utilization of self-reflection on students’ speaking projects. The study found that VPBL fosters self-reflection among learners, as they must plan, produce, and evaluate their work. Self-reflection is a crucial skill for language learning, as it helps learners to identify their strengths and weaknesses, set goals, and monitor their progress. Ayudia","doi":"10.17509/bs_jpbsp.v24i1.72247","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.17509/bs_jpbsp.v24i1.72247","url":null,"abstract":"This research attempts to describe how accurate the implementation of formative assessments designed by teachers is through reviewing the learning plans or 'teaching modules' of the Merdeka curriculum.Methodologically, this research uses a descriptive qualitative approach to explain the position and function of formative assessment in a sample of teaching modules as well as reviewing the management and interpretation of formative assessment results. The data in this research is in the form of learning flows in teaching modules as formative assessment content of the learning process. As a research sample, the data source for this research took teaching modules from SMA Negeri 1 Tanjungbalai, SMA Negeri 1 Rowosari, and SMA Negeri 7 Medan. The data was analyzed using an application balance review process using the Merdeka curriculum assessment guidelines. The data is reconstructed if there is a discrepancy between the formative assessment applied by the teacher in the teaching module and the theory and principles of formative assessment. Then, the results of the review and reconstruction of the comparison results in the preparation of formative assessments produce conclusions in the form of a series of learning process flows which are the core of formative assessment in the teaching module.The results showed that the position of formative assessment in the three learning modules had different proportions. The proportion of formative assessment in the first module looks very small, so the reconstruction of the flow of formative assessment is carried out for five learning activities. In the second and third modules, the proportion of formative assessment is already large, so the second module only reconstructs the flow of formative assessment in one learning activity. In the short story entitled Shifting written by Ann Beattie, Natalie is worried about her marriage because Natalie thinks that Larry's mother will not approve of their marriage, this is because Natalie is rarely accompanying Larry. Then, how are generalized anxiety disorders accentuated in Ann Beattie’s Shifting? In analysis, the main character in this story is over-worrying that makes herself being different in the view of the others. The language that she knows has been over consumed that she has been swallowed by the language itself.  In conclusion, the short story indicates how any disorder may come from any small worry. In its implementation there are religious symbols that have their own meaning. The approach used in this research is semiotic theory to read and understand the meaning of the symbols used by the people of Aceh during the implementation of the Peucicap Aneuk procession. with descriptive qualitative research design. primary data of this research comes from field observations of the Peucicap Aneuk procession and secondary data comes from journals, books, and ancient Acehnese manuscripts. This research showed that, in general, the Acehnese people perform the Peucicap Aneuk procession in the morning on the 7th (seventh) day after a mother gives birth to her child. When the peucicap ritual is carried out, there are 17 (seventeen) symbols, namely rice and paddy, sticky rice, Tumpo, On Peusijuek, free-range chicken egg yolk, rice kneaded into porridge, honey, Zam-Zam water, fruits, chicken thighs, chicken liver, turmeric, salt, sugar, coconut, mirror, Quran. In the Peucicap Aneuk procession, this article confirms the expectations of every parent for their children through the representation of cultural symbols. This research uses a qualitative approach with the document method and literature study. The document method is used to find data sources that will be used, while supporting literature and readings are collected using literature study techniques. The data source in this research is the short story Buah Limus Murag ku Angin  by Karna Yudibrata and the data is in the form of morality values contained in it. This research uses quantitative methods. The population in this study were all students of class XII Accounting and Banking of SMKN 1 Sorong City which amounted to 123 students. The sample size was calculated using the Slovin formula with an error tolerance of 5℅, so a sample size of 95 students was obtained.  Data collection was carried out using a questionnaire, then the data was processed using the SEM PLS program. Sunendar, Farida Amalia","doi":"10.17509/bs_jpbsp.v24i1.72257","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.17509/bs_jpbsp.v24i1.72257","url":null,"abstract":"The present study aims to analyze the untranslatability occurred in the subtitle of The Big 4 (2022) movie from Indonesian as the source language (SL) to French as the target language (TL). The words or phrases in the subtitles taken from a movie streaming platform, Netflix, were analyzed using a qualitative method to analyze the type of untranslatability; whether it is a lexical or cultural untranslatability, factors that influence, and the techniques used by the translator to overcome the issues. The findings showed the existence of untranslatability in 107 instances, 24 of which were at the lexical level and 83 in cultural aspects. The translator utilized nine different translation techniques to address the untranslatability, including borrowing, naturalization, adaptation, particularisation, modulation, generalization, calque, established equivalence, and transposition. However, regardless of the phenomenon of untranslatability, the act of translation must continue. By applying Hall's theory of representation to this research, the researcher gains a deeper understanding of how the novel represents and reinforces cultural norms and values related to body image and self-acceptance, and how these representations shape the feelings and emotions of readers related to the discourse of body image and self-acceptance.This study uses a qualitative research method in which the data sources are primary and secondary data. The primary data are in the form of narrations, dialogues and statements in the novel by K.A Barson entitled 45 Pounds (More or Less) as the main focus in this research. The secondary data includes the historical data, psychological research and cultural studies on body image and self-acceptance. This research focuses on the representation of body image and self-acceptance issue and the critical position of the author through the sense or content in 45 Pounds (More or Less). The analysis results shows that these issues were predominantly influenced by the media’s portrayal of unrealistic beauty standards, leading characters to constantly compare themselves and feel dissatisfied.
