Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menduga potensi produksi ikan dan status perikanan di Waduk Malahayu. Penelitian dilakukan pada bulan Mei, Juli, Agustus, dan Oktober 2010 dengan metode survei berstrata. Potensi produksi ikan dihitung berdasarkan produktivitas primer fitoplankton dan survey sumberdaya ikan dilakukan dengan pemasangan jaring insang percobaan serta pengumpulan data hasil tangkapan nelayan oleh enumerator. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa jenis ikan yang tertangkap di Waduk Malahayu adalah ikan mujair (Oreochromis mossambicus), beunteur (Puntius binotatus), sili (Macrognathus aculeatus), nila (Oreochromis niloticus), gabus (Channa striata), dan sepat (Trichogaster pectoralis). Rata – rata nilai produktivitas primer kotor Waduk Malahayu adalah 3,3 mgC/m3/jam dengan rata – rata potensi produksi ikan sebesar 1.337 kg/ha/tahun atau 828 ton/tahun. Jumlah nelayan yang beroperasi di Waduk Malahayu setiap hari berkisar 27 – 70 orang dengan tangkapan per satuan usaha adalah 5,8 kg/orang/ hari dengan rata – rata produksi mencapai 157,3 ton/tahun sehingga tingkat pemanfaatan sumberdaya ikannya sekitar 40 % dari total potensi produksi ikan. Malahayu Reservoir in Brebes Regency, Central Java, a total water surface area of 620 ha has main function as source of drinking water and irrigation. The aim of this study was to estimate the fish potential yield and state of fisheries of the reservoir. The study was conducted in May, July, August, and October 2010 using stratified survey method. Fish potential yield was estimated based on phytoplankton primary productivity and survey of fisheries resources was conducted using experimental gillnets and fish catch data collected by enumerator. The result showed that fish species caught were mozambique tilapia (Oreochromis mossambicus), spotted barb (Puntius binotatus), lesser spiny eel (Macrognathus aculeatus), nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus), striped snakehead (Channa striata) and snakeskin gourame (Trichogaster pectoralis). Average of gross primary productivity of the reservoir was 3.3 mg C/ m3/hour with an average fish potential yield was 1,337 kg/ ha/ year or 828 tons/year. Pukat cincin merupakan jenis alat tangkap yang efektif yang dalam kajian stok sumber daya ikan pelagis sering dijadikan sebagai alat tangkap standard. Oleh karena armada pukat cincin memiliki variasi karakteristik teknis, maka untuk menghindari bias perlu dilakukan standardisasi upaya. Standardisasi upaya penangkapan kapal pukat cincin di Laut Jawa periode 2006-2008 dilakukan menggunakan metode analisis komponen utama dari karakteristik teknis; panjang kapal, lebar kapal, dalam kapal, tonase, tenaga penggerak, daya lampu, dimensi jaring, kapasitas palka, dan jumlah ABK. Tiga komponen utama telah dapat menjelaskan lebih dari 60 % total varians yang difungsikan untuk menghitung fishing power masing-masing kapal. Metode analisis komponen utama menghindarkan ketergantungan terhadap satu karakter sehingga memungkinkan untuk melakukan penghitungan nilai fishing power bagi kapal pukat cincin baru yang masuk ke dalam armada pukat cincin. Berdasarkan hasil analisis diperoleh fungsi hasil tangkapan per satuan upaya (CPUE) CPUE = 353.4 * 16.95.Ci dan Fishing Power Indeks (FP) = 1 +(16.59) * (353.4)-1. Ci. Exploitation of small pelagic fish resources in Java Sea was dominated by purse seiners fishery. Purse seine is an effective type of fishing gear, this gear was often used as standard fishing gear for pelagic fish stock assessment. Since purse seiners has a variety of technical characteristics, standardization efforts need to be done to avoid the bias during analysis. Catch effort of purse seiners in Java Sea on the period of 2006-2008 was standardized using principal components analysis method of the boat characteristics, boat length, boat width, boat depth, gross tonnage, engine propulsion, light power, net dimensions, fish hold capacity and total number of crews. Three new major components have explained more than 60% of the total variance which enabled to calculate the fishing power of each boat. Principal components analysis method was used to avoid dependence on a single character to allow the calculation of the value of fishing power for new purse seine fleet. Based on the results obtained by analyzing the function of catch per unit effort formula was CPUE = 353.4 * 16.95.Ci and Fishing Power Index (FP) = 1 + (16.59) * (353.4) -1. Hal ini karena hasil tangkapan komersialnya lebih menurunkan stok ikan tuna dibandingkan metode lainnya. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah mengevaluasi aktivitas penangkapan dari kapal pukat cincin berdasarkan atas data mendekati waktu sebenarnya (nearly real time) vessel monitoring system dan catatan nelayan yang digunakan untuk mengestimasi jumlah tawur dan produktivitas. Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa estimasi tawur dari data vessel monitoring system lebih besar dari aktivitas penangkapan yang sebenarnya, alasan perbedaan berkisar 24-43%. Hal ini diakibatkan lebih banyak kegagalan tawur dan tidak ada aktivitas penangkapan karena kondisi cuaca yang buruk. Produktivitas dari lima trip kapal contoh selama tahun 2010 menunjukkan hasil tangkapan berkisar 14-63 ton/trip dengan produktivitas berkisar 0,5-1,73 ton/ tawur, di mana produktivitas terendah terjadi pada trip keenam (bulan Juli sampai Agustus). Hasil tangkapan didominansi oleh ikan cakalang (Katsuwonus pelamis), sedangkan gerombolan ikan cakalang kerapkali bercampur dengan juvenile madidihang (Thunnus albacares) dan juvenile tuna mata besar (Thunnus obesus) yang menghuni lapisan permukaan dan memangsa terutama jenis ikan epipelagis. Keberhasilan perikanan pelagis sebagian besar tergantung pada pengaruhpengaruh jangka pendek, seperti kondisi gelombang besar, arus, terang bulan, dan suhu permukaan laut.Recently, the purse seiners that operated using fish aggregating devices has become a serious problem in tuna fisheries. This commercial catches affected on the declining of tuna stocks compared to other methods. The objective of this study is to evaluate the activity of purse seiners based on nearly real time vessel monitoring system data and records data of the fishermen which was used to estimate haul numbers and productivity. The research concluded that the estimated haul of vessel monitoring system by data is larger than the actual fishing activity, which the difference ranged from 24-43%. It causes more failure haul and no fishing activity due to bad weather conditions. Productivity of 5 trips vessel samples during the year 2010/2011 showed the catch per trip ranges from 14-63 tons and productivity ranges from 0.5-1.73 ton/haul, in which the lowest productivity occurred on the six trip (July until August). The catch was dominated by skipjack (Katsuwonus pelamis) and schools of skipjack often mix with juvenile yellowfin (Thunnus albacares), and big eye (Thunnus obesus). Contoh kepiting diambilsecara acak dari hasil tangkapan bubu. Data sebaran frekuensi lebar karapas dikumpulkan selama sebelas bulan pengamatan. Analisis data parameter populasi dilakukan dengan bantuan software FISAT (FAO ICLARMStock Assessment Tools). Hasil analisis menunjukkan terdapat beberapa kelompok umur/ukuran kepiting bakau. Lebar karapas asimptotik populasi kepiting bakau mencapai 147 mm dengan koefisien pertumbuhan tahunan (K) 0,59. Laju eksploitasi kepiting bakau (E = 0,4) masih di bawah laju eksploitasi optimum. Hasil tangkapan kepiting bakau mencapai 23,8 ton per tahun. Hasil pengukuran di lapangan menunjukkan bahwa 70% berupa kepiting muda (nama lokal “keroyo”). Kondisi ini (growth over fishing) akan semakin mengkhawatirkan jika penangkapan berlangsung terus. Kondisi lingkungan perairan di sekitar mangrove dan perairan pantai cukup menunjang kehidupan biota termasuk larva kepiting bakau dan larva biota lain. Research on population dynamics of mud crab (Scylla serrata) was conducted in mangrove waters Mayangan, District Legonwetan, Subang regency, West Java. The current work was done based on carapace width frequency distribution data collected during eleven months of observation. The crab samples were taken randomly from the catch of trap net. Analysis was using software FISAT (FAOICLARM Stock Assessment Tools). Results show that there were several groups of age / size of mud crabs. Asymptotic length of mud crab population has reached 147 mm (carapace width) with an annual growth curvature (K) 0.59. Exploitation rate (E = 0.4) Of the mud crab population wos under the optimum level. Total undercrab production reached 23.8 tonnes per year, where most of the catch (88%) was of Scylla serrata. The results of field measurements was approximately 7 % of young crabs (local name “keroyo”). This condition of growth over fishing has occurred. It will be more worried if this condition continues. Hal ini dapat diprediksi melalui pendekatan dengan menggunakan analisis DNA. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan informasi keragaman genetik dan struktur populasi ikan tuna mata besar dari perairan Samudera Hindia sebelah selatan Jawa dan Nusa Tenggara, dan barat Sumatera. Pengambilan sampel ikan tuna mata besar dilakukan pada bulan Maret sampai November 2010 berlokasi di perairan Samudera Hindia sebelah selatan Jawa dan Nusa Tenggara, dan barat Sumatera. Pengumpulan sampel jaringan (sirip) ikan tuna mata besar dilakukan oleh observer di atas kapal tuna longline. Nilai keragaman haplotipe (genetik) yang diperoleh adalah 0,8267 untuk kelompok sampel 1 dan 0,7766 untuk kelompok sampel 2 dengan nilai rata-rata keragaman genetik adalah 0,8017. Jarak genetik antara kelompok sampel ikan tuna mata besar di Samudera Hindia adalah 0,0038. Dendrogram yang dibentuk berdasarkan jarak genetik menunjukkan bahwa kelompok sampel ikan tuna mata besar yang diamati dapat dibagi menjadi dua kelompok populasi (subpopulasi), yaitu kelompok pertama terdiri dari ikan tuna mata besar yang berasal dari Samudera Hindia selatan Jawa dan Nusa Tenggara, sedangkan kelompok kedua yang berasal dari Samudera Hindia barat Sumatera. Information of bigeye tuna population condition in Indian Ocean has been not known. This can be predicted through the approach of using DNA analysis. This study aimes to obtain information on genetic diversity and population structure of the bigeye tuna from the Indian Ocean south of Java and Nusa Tenggara, and West Sumatra. Sampling bigeye tuna conducted in March until November 2010 is located in the Indian Ocean south of Java and Nusa Tenggara, and West Sumatra. The samples (fin) of bigeye tuna was collected by the observers on board tuna longline. Value of haplotype diversity (genetic) obtained was 0.8267 for the sample group 1 and 0.7766 for sample group 2 with an average was 0.8017. Genetic distance between sample groups of bigeye tuna in the Indian Ocean was 0.0038. Keberadaan ikan target yang tertangkap di sekitar terumbu buatan menunjukkan peranan terumbu buatan dalam pemacuan stok ikan karang di perairan Teluk Saleh. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk menganalisis relung ekologi beberapa ikan target di Teluk Saleh. Penelitian dilakukan pada modul terumbu buatan di perairan Pulau Rakit dan Pulau Ganteng, Teluk Saleh, Nusa Tenggara Barat pada bulan April, Juni, dan Oktober 2010. Contoh ikan target diperoleh dari hasil tangkapan nelayan yang menggunakan bubu. Ikan samel dibedah saluran pencernaannya diambil lalu diberi formalin 4% untuk pengamatan di laboratorium. Analisis kebiasaan makanan menggunakan indeks preponderan. Hasil menunjukkan jenis ikan target yang tertangkap bubu terdiri dari 10 famili dan 20 spesies. Analisis kebiasaan makanan menunjukkan sebagian besar ikan target yang tertangkap tergolong ikan karnivora dengan kisaran luas relung antara 1,00 – 3,21. Tumpang tindih relung pada komunitas ikan target menunjukkan adanya kesamaan dalam pemanfaatan sumber daya makanan alami. Analisis pengelompokan dengan similaritas 50% menunjukkan komunitas ikan target di Teluk Saleh memiliki kesamaan dalam memanfaatkan sumber daya makanan alami di Teluk Saleh. Artificial reef placed in the waters of the Saleh Bay is one of the habitat rehabilitation efforts. The presence of target fish species caught around the artificial reefs showed its roles to enhance coral fish stock in the waters of Saleh Bay. The aim of this research was to analyze ecological niche of some target fish species. The study was conducted on artificial reef modules placed in the waters of Rakit Island and Ganteng Island, Saleh Bay, West Nusa Tenggara in April, June and October 2010. Fish samples were collected from fisher catch by using traps. Fish samples were sectioned and the gut organ was preserved in 4% formaldehyde for further analyze in the laboratory. Food habits of the fish were analyzed by using index of preponderance. The result showed that target fish species caught consisted of 20 species of 10 families. The Most of the fish species were belong to carnivorous fish with interval niche breadth between 1.00 to 3.21. Niche overlap of the target fish community indicated the same utilization of natural food resources. Cara pertama adalah mengejar gerombolan ikan pelagis besar pada siang hari dan cara kedua mengumpulkan kelompok ikan pelagis kecil menggunakan cahaya lampu pada malam hari. Tujuan penelitian pada tahun 2009 adalah untuk memperoleh informasi baru perkembangan perikanan pukat cincin, penambahan cara penangkapan, komposisi hasil tangkapan, indeks kelimpahan, dan puncak hasil tangkapan ikan pelagis yang dominan. Data yang dikumpulkan terdiri atas jumlah kapal, ukuran kapal, ukuran jaring, hasil tangkapan per jenis ikan dan per kapal; jumlah hari operasi tahun 2008 dan 2009, yang diperoleh dari Pelabuhan Perikanan Pantai Lampulo. Data dikelompokkan lalu ditabulasi dibuat grafik serta dianalisis. Hasil menunjukkan, bahwa perikanan pukat cincin mengalami perkembangan baik dalam jumlah dan bobot kapal maupun ukuran jaring. Dalam periode ini cara penangkapan bertambah dengan cara ketiga yaitu menangkap dua kelompok ikan pelagis yang berkumpul di bawah benda-benda terapung (kayu-kayuan dan sampah). Berdasarkan atas menurunnya hasil tangkapan dan catch per unit of effort pukat cincin menggunakan cara dua diduga sumber daya ikan pelagis kecil di perairan ini sudah menipis. Catch per unit of effort ikan pelagis besar yang tertangkap dengan cara satu dan cara tiga juga tidak meningkat, sehingga untuk ketiga cara tersebut diperlukan pengendalian upaya.In the period of 1995-1998, there were two kinds of fishing method in the purse seine fisheries of Banda Aceh. The 1st method is to pursue the large pelagic fishes shooling in the day time, and the 2nd method is to catch small pelagic fishes gathered by light at night. This research in year 2009 was aimed to obtain the new information on the recent development of the fishery, the additional fishing method as well as catch composition, index of abundance and the peak catch of the dominant pelagic fishes. Number of vessel, dimention of vessel and purse seine net, catch by species and by vessel; number of trip, duration of trip during years 2008 and 2009 were collected from Lampulo Fishing Port. These data were grouped to make some tables and graphics. Result shows, number and volume of vessel, and dimention of purse seine net had developed from those in the 1995 1997 period. Also, the fishing methods had increased, 3rd method was operated to catch the fishes gather under the floating object (blogs and garbage). Based on the decreasing catch per unit of effort resulted from the 2nd method, the small pelagic resourses had probably declined, the catch per unit of effort resulted from both the 1st and 2nd method, however, also did not increase. Cantrang merupakan alat tangkap yang cukup efektif untuk memanfaatkan sumberdaya ikan demersal. Sebelum tahun 1980 jaring cantrang dioperasikan dengan menggunakan kapal berukuran relatif kecil yaitu kurang dari 10 GT. Alat tangkap cantrang di Tegal dioperasikan oleh kapal-kapal dengan ukuran berkisar 5 -30 GT. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk mendapatkan informasi mengenai produktivitas cantrang, komposisi hasil tangkapan dan daerah penangkapannya. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode survei. Periode pengumpulan data dilakukan pada bulan Maret 2010 hingga Januari 2011. Data hasil tangkapan dianalisis dengan menggunakan ANOVA. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa produktivitas cantrang per trip, per hari dan per tawur berbeda-beda. Perbedaan hasil tangkapan antara lain disebabkan oleh: a) adanya perbedaan perlakuan teknik pengoperasian jaring cantrang karena pengaruh gelombang, arah arus dan kemampuan olah gerak kapal, b). jumlah tawur/setting yang berbeda-beda tiap hari nya dalam setiap trip dan c). kondisi fishing ground yang berbeda. Perbedaan komposisi hasil tangkapan cantrang disebabkan oleh kondisi sumber daya di daerah penangkapan dan perbedaan kedalaman perairan. Perubahan daerah penangkapan cantrang tidak dipengaruhi oleh perubahan musim. Perubahan daerah penangkapan lebih dipengaruhi oleh faktor kondisi cuaca dan pengalaman berdasarkan perolehan hasil tangkapan pada trip-trip sebelumnya. Danish seine (cantrang) is a traditional fishing gear having been used for a long time in Java Sea. Cantrang is an effective fishing gear to exploit the of demersal fish resource. Before 1980, cantrang was operated by using small boat less than 10 GT. In Tegal the danish seine were operated by boat with size were between 5–30 GT. The aimof this study is to obtain the information on productivity, catch composition, and fishing ground of cantrang. The research was conducted by survey method. Data were calculated during the period of March 2010 to January 2011. Catch data was analyzed by Analysis of Variance. The result showed that productivity of Danish seine per trip, per day and per setting was different. The differences of catch were caused by several factors such as: a) a different treatment of cantrang operation because of the wave influence, current direction, and ability of ship manuver , b). the number of setting per day in every trips and c). the different condition of fishing ground. The difference of cantrang catch composition is caused by condition of resource in different fishing ground and the waters depth. The alteration of cantrang fishing ground is not influenced by the change of season. Mahulette","doi":"10.15578/jppi.17.4.2011.265-276","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.15578/jppi.17.4.2011.265-276","url":null,"abstract":"Masalah umum yang dihadapi dalam operasi penangkapan ikan terhadap sumberdaya yang sifatnya multi spesies dan multi-cohort di daerah tropis adalah diperolehnya hasil tangkapan bukan spesies target yang biasa disebut hasil tangkap samping (HTS) atau by-catch. Saat ini informasi mengenai HTS pada perikanan rawai tuna di Indonesia yang beroperasi di Samudera Pasifik masih terbatas. Disisi lain informasi tersebut sangat dibutuhkan dalam rangka pelaksanaan pengelelolaan sumberdaya tuna yang memadai. Penelitian yang bertujuan untuk mendapatkan infomasi tentang HTS pada perikanan rawai tuna di Samudera Pasifik dilakukan di Bitung bulan Mei sampai Juli 2010. Penelitian dilakukan dengan dua cara yaitu melalui pengambilan contoh di pusat pendaratan armada rawai tuna (port sampling) dan observer di kapal rawai tuna (onboard observer). Port sampling dilakukan setiap hari pada minngu keempat selama bulan Mei sampai Oktober 2010. Onboard observer dilakukan sebanyak dua trip operasi penangkapan rawai tuna. Data yang dikumpulkan meliputi aspek operasional rawai tuna, jeni ikan HTS dan ukuran panjang cagak ikan HTS. Hasil riset menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata laju pancing HTS selama Mei sampai Oktober 2010 adalah 19,6 kg/100 mata pancing per tawur. Sebanyak 16 spesies HTS rawai tuna dapat diidentifikasi yang didominasi oleh ikan setuhuk hitam atau black marlin (Makaira indica). Ukuran low jaw fork length (LJFL) ikan ikan setuhuk hitam dan ikan meka secara berturut-turut adalah 97-198 cm (modus 141-160 cm), 94-241 cm (modus 161-180 cm) dan ukuran fork length ikan tikusan adalah 96-190 cm (modus 121-140 cm). The common fishing operation problematic in tropical waters which characterized by multispecies and multi-cohort resource is the numbers of bycatch exploited. Currently, the information of bycatch in the longline fishery especially operated in the Pacific Ocean is limited. On the other hand, this information is necessary for the implementation tuna fisheries management framework. The objective of this research is to collate the information of Pacific tuna longline bycatch landed in Bitung during the period of May until July 2010. Research conducted in two ways i.e. through port sampling at the central landing of tuna longline and observer onboard. Port sampling was conducted in the forth week during May until October 2010, whilst observer onboard was conducted in two trips within that period. Data collected consists of operational aspects of tuna longliners, species composition of bycatch and its fork length. Results of this research showed that the average of hook rate during the period of May October 2010 was 19.10 kg/100 hooks per set. Sixteen species of tuna longline bycatch have been identified and showed that black marlin (Makaira indica) was predominant.
