To evaluate the efficacy of A. ligustrinato relieve pain, also through a bibliographic review an inventory of the molecules present in this species was performed, as well as their pharmacological activity. The results showed that the epidemiology of pain produced by GID, its ethnobotany, and the explanatory model of abdominal pain are similar among ethnic groups. Likewise, 27 molecules with anti-inflammatory and anti-nociceptive effects were identified, which could explain why this species is culturally important for the Mayan Tzeltal, Tzotzil, and Q'eqchi' groups for the relief of abdominal pain, while, from a biomedical point of view, it is a species with potential to inhibit visceral pain.","PeriodicalId":55342,"journal":{"name":"Boletin Latinoamericano y del Caribe de Plantas Medicinales y Aromaticas","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.7,"publicationDate":"2024-07-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141795745","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"医学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A common fruit grown in tropical settings is citrus. A professional judgment is required while analyzing an illness because different diseases have slight variations in their symptoms. In order to recognize and classify diseases in citrus fruits and leaves, a customized CNN-based approach that links CNN with LSTM was developed in this research. By using a CNN-based method, it is possible to automatically differentiate from healthier fruits and leaves and those that have diseases such fruit blight, fruit greening, fruit scab, and melanoses. In terms of performance, the proposed approach achieves 96% accuracy, 98% sensitivity, 96% Recall, and an F1-score of 92% for citrus fruit and leave identification and classification and the proposed method was compared with KNN, SVM, and CNN and concluded that the proposed CNN-based model is more accurate and effective at identifying illnesses in citrus fruits and leaves","PeriodicalId":55342,"journal":{"name":"Boletin Latinoamericano y del Caribe de Plantas Medicinales y Aromaticas","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.7,"publicationDate":"2024-03-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140362796","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"医学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

An ethnobotanical study was carried out in the province of Nador, located northeast of Morocco. A total of 418 persons were interviewed, information about their profile, type of medicinal plants existing in this area, plant characteristics and uses of those existing plants. Results showed 35 species distributed in 23 families, the most represented were Lamiaceae (7), Apiaceae (5) and Fabaceae (3). This study revealed that the population mainly used seeds (28%), leaves (26%), aerial parts (20%) and fruits (14%). This work aimed to develop and validate an analytical method by high performance liquid chromatography for the quantification of YAN. The sample used was the crude ethanolic extract (CEE) obtained from aerial parts. In the developed method, a C18 column was used. The mobile phase was composed of acetonitrile and water (45:55), whereas the method parameters included mobile phase flow rate at 0.8 mL/min, oven temperature at 40°C, and monitoring at 205 nm. In the validation, the parameters of selectivity, linearity, precision, accuracy, robustness, limits of detection and quantification were evaluated. As a result, the developed method is in accordance with the guidelines for validation of analytical methods and presented satisfactory chromatographic parameters for YAN determination. The patient had received treatment involving non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and glucocorticoids in other hospitals, but the effects were poor, and the conditions reemerged. The LS duration has lasted for more than 3 months. Following traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) treatment, syndrome differentiation as well as giving patients oral Chinese medicine decoction, the symptoms of the patient were rapidly relieved within one week and did not recur during a six-month follow-up period. Contact hypersensitivity, the effect on somatic cells, and residuality in milk samples were evaluated. The results of the Artemia salinabioassay were 10.05 and 19.36 (μg/mL) respectively. No negative effects or contact hypersensitivity were observed, and no residual metabolites were found in post-test milk. Five replicates of bezoar powder were subjected to extraction using different solvent ratios of methanol-water (100, 75, 50, 25, 0% v/v). Cytotoxicity and metabolite profiling using liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry were conducted. Putative compounds identified were subjected to in-silico analysis with targeted anticancer proteins namely, Bcl-2, Cyclin B/CDK1 complex, VEGF and NM23-H1. The correlation of LC-MS and cytotoxicity profile pinpointed two compounds, mangiferin and propafenone. In-silicostudy showed both compounds exerted good binding scores to all proteins with hydrophobic interaction dominating the ligand-protein complex binding, suggesting the ligands act as hydrophobes in the interactions.","PeriodicalId":55342,"journal":{"name":"Boletin Latinoamericano y del Caribe de Plantas Medicinales y Aromaticas","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.7,"publicationDate":"2024-01-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139591252","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"医学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
