This article provides a comprehensive review of frontal sinus anatomy, diagnostic protocols, and evolving treatment strategies. An anatomically based treatment algorithm is presented that focuses on sinus preservation and conservative management strategies. Advanced surgical techniques, including endoscopic sinus surgery and cranialization, are reviewed for the treatment of severe injuries.</p>","PeriodicalId":54657,"journal":{"name":"Otolaryngologic Clinics of North America","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.3,"publicationDate":"2025-04-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"144053938","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"医学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Injury to the frontal branch can result in functional and aesthetic issues; therefore, a thorough understanding of the anatomy and course of the frontal branch is essential for safe surgery in the lateral face and temporal region. The course of the frontal branch is variable, but certain anatomic landmarks can be used to locate the nerve. Preoperative planning, careful dissection, and intraoperative monitoring are critical to minimize nerve injury in temporal, parotid, and periorbital surgeries.</p>","PeriodicalId":54657,"journal":{"name":"Otolaryngologic Clinics of North America","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":1.3,"publicationDate":"2025-04-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"144065291","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":4,"RegionCategory":"医学","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
