To better understand how patients cope with the disease, coping strategies have been studied but without taking into account the specificity of the CD experience.</p></div><div><h3>Objective</h3><p>Our objective is to identify the perceived coping strategies used by patients in relation to their illness experience.</p></div><div><h3>Method</h3><p>Using a qualitative approach, semi-structured interviews and thematic content analysis with 33 CD patients in remission were conducted.</p></div><div><h3>Results</h3><p>Our results highlight that some of the coping strategies used are not taken into account by the coping scales frequently used in the literature. Indeed, the illness experience appears to be fundamental in the establishment of new strategies based on the experiential knowledge patients use to reduce the stress induced by a potential relapse. It is composed of three factors, which assess an affective dimension (angry rumination), a cognitive dimension (revenge planning) and a behavioral dimension (displaced aggression).</p></div><div><h3>Objective</h3><p>To adapt a French translated version of the <em>Displaced Aggression Questionnaire</em> and test the psychometrics.</p></div><div><h3>Method</h3><p>In this study, we recruited 191 adults in the community. The questionnaire has been adapted and validated with respects to guidelines for the process of transcultural adaptation and validation of self-report measures. A principal component analysis has been used to assess the structure of the French version of the questionnaire.</p></div><div><h3>Results</h3><p>After taking into account one item that has not loaded onto any of the three expected factors, the principal component analysis confirmed the hypothesized three-factor structure for the French version of the questionnaire according to the original structure of the scale. It has been named <em>Questionnaire d’Agression Déplacée</em> in French. Favrod","doi":"10.1016/j.prps.2021.03.001","DOIUrl":"10.1016/j.prps.2021.03.001","url":null,"abstract":"<div><h3>Introduction</h3><p>Health professionals’ self-disclosure is a common practice, but there is still controversy regarding when it is appropriate, what the extent and content of self-disclosure should be, and what the clinical consequences are.</p></div><div><h3>Objectives</h3><p>This qualitative study aimed to investigate self-disclosure in health and social-care professionals.</p></div><div><h3>Method</h3><p>Thirteen in-depth interviews with group leaders of an intervention to improve pleasure and motivation in schizophrenia. The interviews were subjected to thematic analysis.</p></div><div><h3>Results</h3><p>Professionals describe their personal disclosures as authentic sharing of lived experiences. From a content point of view, professionals select simple events from their personal or professional life, which they find easy to share with patients, in a group. The selection criteria for these experiences mainly concern the therapeutic value and are formulated in terms of relevance of the content and the usefulness envisioned for the patient as well as authenticity. Self-disclosure generates a redefinition of the places in interaction and a more egalitarian relationship.</p></div><div><h3>Conclusion</h3><p>Self-disclosure is found to be a tool for developing and maintaining the therapeutic relationship. It is, therefore, necessary for education staff to know how to respond effectively to stop it. However, this does not always seem to be the case at present. The purpose of this article is to describe six commonly used reactive approach (direct sanctions, restorative practices, reinforcement of the victim, mediation, the support group method, and the shared concerns method), as well as to synthesize the scientific knowledge regarding the effectiveness of each of these approaches. It is in line with the work of Dayan, Picon, Scelles and Bouteyre (2006), with an inventory of publications in English and French published between 2006 and 2020. Given the increase in studies targeting autism spectrum disorders (ASD), a focus is proposed on groups conducted in this specific context. After describing the diversity of the sibling groups’ methodological/theoretical frameworks and approaches, their functioning and objectives, a comparative analysis of the benefits they provide is carried out according to whether they concern any type of disability/disease or focus on ASDs. The data were collected using semi-structured interviews and analyzed using the Grounded Theory.</p></div><div><h3>Results</h3><p>The Grounded Theory shows significant phenomena resulting the experience of temporality in psychiatric emergencies: plural human temporalities (1), impacts of multiple temporalities (2), reorganizing temporalities of the relationship (3), and appropriation of temporality (4). The manner of appropriating time depends essentially on the emotional control and the reflexivity of the therapeutic actions.</p></div><div><h3>Conclusion</h3><p>Crisis stakeholders are in temporality of immediacy, speed and subjective urgency and suggest us thinking in less quickly and better. Team exchanges are so many suspended moments that contribute to the resumption of a thought process and avoid acting too quickly. What are the real effects and the difficulties to generate results of psychotherapies?</p></div><div><h3>Literature results</h3><p>Psychotherapy is efficient for multiple psychological disorders, as well in controlled as in naturalistic studies, and participate in reduction of health expenditure. However, all patients do not get real benefits from care, patients can deteriorate or drop-out treatment, and persistent side effects can occur; clinicians overestimate their efficiency and their performances decline during their career. The 18 guidelines are organized into six categories to facilitate their use: pre-condition (3), test development (5), confirmation (4), administration (2), scoring and interpretation (2), and documentation (2). For each guideline, an explanation is provided along with suggestions for practice.
