Delayed diagnosis was less frequent among women with stage III (PR 0.31; 95%CI 0.28; 0.35) and stage IV (PR 0.37; 95%CI 0.32; 0.42) cervical cancer.

Conclusion: Delayed diagnosis of cervical cancer is associated with sociodemographic inequalities and challenges faced by the Brazilian National Health System. Prevalence of delayed diagnosis was higher among Black women, women with less education and women from the Northern region. The results reinforce the need to strengthen the line of care and qualify diagnostic confirmation processes, especially for socially vulnerable populations.
","PeriodicalId":520611,"journal":{"name":"Epidemiologia e servicos de saude : revista do Sistema Unico de Saude do Brasil","volume":"34 ","pages":"e20240764"},"PeriodicalIF":2.0,"publicationDate":"2025-09-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC12435956/pdf/","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"145034966","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The East macro-region of the state stood out (APC +4.27; 95%CI 2.27; 6.32).
