As databases swell in size and complexity, we show in this paper that under some circumstances the likelihood of coincidental matches between seemingly unrelated entries increases dramatically. These extraneous matches can inadvertently mislead investigators and analysts, ultimately resulting in incorrect source attributions.Applying the mathematics of generalized birthday problems, this paper uses an expository approach to delve into the intricacies of data dredging across diverse data sets, emphasizing the need for caution when interpreting results obtained through post-hoc analysis. We explore the potential consequences of relying on post-facto data-driven storytelling, highlighting the dangers of attributing meaning to even matches that occur with seemingly extraordinary odds.","PeriodicalId":518964,"journal":{"name":"2024 International Conference on Artificial Intelligence, Computer, Data Sciences and Applications (ACDSA)","volume":"442 ","pages":"1-5"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140528850","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Their safe, flexible, and efficient control challenges include many switches, complex passive circuitry, and varying power flow paths and levels. In this paper, an enhanced power management control for the TAB converter, which offers high flexibility and control efficiency, has been developed. The converter reduces the number of components and their size, improves system efficiency, and reduces switching losses. The fuel cell and battery connect to ports one and three on the input side. And on the output side, it can handle high-voltage loads. Simulations have been conducted to model and simulate the various operating modes of a hybrid-electric propulsion system that uses the TAB converter. These simulations replicate a standard flight profile, which includes takeoff, ascent, descent, cruising, and regenerative charging phases. Simulation results indicate that TAB converters can maintain high efficiency throughout all phases of the flight profile.","PeriodicalId":518964,"journal":{"name":"2024 International Conference on Artificial Intelligence, Computer, Data Sciences and Applications (ACDSA)","volume":"29 ","pages":"1-6"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140528954","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Conventional OCT scan segmentation methods typically rely on supervised learning, demanding substantial data for training and assuming fixed network weights post-training. To mitigate these challenges, we explore the applicability of few-shot learning (FSL) in CNN architectures, allowing dynamic fine-tuning of network weights with minimal additional data. Experimental results demonstrate enhanced segmentation accuracy, with the proposed Few-shot Custom CNN achieving a notable 91% accuracy, surpassing both the Custom CNN (86%) and the OCT machine data. This suggests the superiority of the few-shot Custom CNN model in segmentation performance compared to OCT scans.","PeriodicalId":518964,"journal":{"name":"2024 International Conference on Artificial Intelligence, Computer, Data Sciences and Applications (ACDSA)","volume":"442 ","pages":"1-6"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140528651","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Additionally, to consider the uncertainties in MMG resources, the Point estimation method (PEM) with Quantum Artificial Rabbits Optimization (QARO) technique is developed to estimate the probability density function (PDF) of operating cost and Independence Performance Index (IPI). A day-ahead EM problem is modeled for operating and transaction cost minimization while the MMG benefit is maximized. The Proposed QARO is employed to solve the deterministic problem in three case studies. The operating cost is reduced with the integration of DR and the BESS. The integration of DR and BESS enhanced the IPI by 2.4%. In addition, the proposed hybrid QARO-PEM is implemented to solve the stochastic EM problem, and the PDF for operating cost and IPI are estimated.","PeriodicalId":518964,"journal":{"name":"2024 International Conference on Artificial Intelligence, Computer, Data Sciences and Applications (ACDSA)","volume":"728 ","pages":"1-6"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140528702","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Traditional methods often fall short in adapting to evolving volcanic behavior. We propose a model that combines continual learning and autoencoders to adaptively detect anomalies. The autoencoder extracts relevant features from sensor data, while continual learning enables the model to adapt to changing volcanic patterns. However, the relationship between their mechanisms in HER electrocatalysis and HER performance (including activity and stability) remains complex. This research focuses on exploring this relationship by examining MoX2 fundamentals and interconnected similarities. Three key parameters—MoX2 species and reagent (precursor & reductant) ratios—are comprehensively discussed on how to optimize the HER performance. The effects of altered conditions on the structure-activity interplay are highlighted. Our findings offer insights into controlling MoX2 catalyst synthesis and modifications for enhanced performance in hydrogen evolution.","PeriodicalId":518964,"journal":{"name":"2024 International Conference on Artificial Intelligence, Computer, Data Sciences and Applications (ACDSA)","volume":"47 ","pages":"1-7"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140528626","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

On the other hand, another way to increase the power output of small turbines consists in the adoption of a diffuser. Therefore, it would be interesting to investigate the union of these two techniques, however, since the computing resources required by traditional fully 3D CFD simulations would be prohibitive, other less expensive approaches are needed. Using CFD, the performance of a 50kW wind turbine positioned on the top of a hill and equipped with a symmetrical convergent-divergent diffuser was predicted. To save computation time, the fluid dynamic interaction with the rotating blades is mimicked by adopting the momentum source low-order approach, that in our case is based on the Virtual Blade Model (VBM). The diffuser behavior has been analyzed for three hill profiles characterized by the same height but different shapes that are representative of realistic environments. The results show that the diffuser not only allows a general massive increase in power but also that its use is especially advantageous, compared to the bare turbine, in cases of flows made yawed by the slope of the hill or the geometry of the cliff. This happens because the converging section of the diffuser is able to realign the skewed flows normally to the turbine rotor.","PeriodicalId":518964,"journal":{"name":"2024 International Conference on Artificial Intelligence, Computer, Data Sciences and Applications (ACDSA)","volume":"143 ","pages":"1-6"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140529176","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The TAB converter derives from a dual-active-bridge (DAB) converter and operates as an isolated converter. It comprises three full bridges coupled to three winding transformers. The study investigates the principles of power flow control and operation under the soft-switching mode to define the converter's operational range. The ZVS boundaries are deduced as a result of this investigation. The parameters under consideration include the transformer turn ratio, leakage inductance as variables, and phase shift ratios. Theoretical considerations are validated through Matlab simulations, enabling the establishment of design criteria for operating the TPC under soft switching within an extensive operational range.","PeriodicalId":518964,"journal":{"name":"2024 International Conference on Artificial Intelligence, Computer, Data Sciences and Applications (ACDSA)","volume":"103 ","pages":"1-6"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140528965","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
