Search and rescue (SAR) operations are usually focused on general disasters and on the task of human detection alone. In this paper, a multitask learning (MTL) model is created to perform joint human detection and scene classification exclusively for flood occurrences. Various detection and classification models were tested to find YOLOv7 and MobileNetV2 to be the most suited for the tasks. Although the MTL model resulted to be 3.16% smaller than the two models combined, its processing time could still be improved. Upon evaluation, the model achieved an AP of 77.17% and an accuracy of 76.00%, which are not far off from other similar MTL works. Overall, this demonstrated promising capabilities for flood SAR applications.","PeriodicalId":518964,"journal":{"name":"2024 International Conference on Artificial Intelligence, Computer, Data Sciences and Applications (ACDSA)","volume":"143 ","pages":"1-6"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140528607","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to study and encourage interaction between children with relational disorders, such as autistic spectrum disorders, the use of humanoid robots seems promising. Indeed, compared to the variability of the possible responses of a human interlocutor, the robot can be programmed to adapt to the needs of the child, creating relational situations that are predictable and emotionally reassuring. However, most setups involving the use of a humanoid robot for sessions with children do not include methods to characterize the children’s interaction and behavior. The primary objective of this study was to evaluate the use of NAO to improve the quality of hospitalization of children in the Department of Pediatric Neurology and Muscle Diseases, but also its effectiveness for the development and recovery of cognitive skills. The positive and encouraging results have provided a first proof of concept that the system can used in a clinical setting. In conclusion, Nao catalyzed the attention of the majority of children that remained high during all of the session, even in children whose clinical profile is characterized by a severe attention deficit.","PeriodicalId":518964,"journal":{"name":"2024 International Conference on Artificial Intelligence, Computer, Data Sciences and Applications (ACDSA)","volume":"37 ","pages":"1-6"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140528513","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Decentralized exchange presented a method to set prices mathematically without an order book. Order books have been a widely-known method of determining prices for over 400 years. Decentralized exchanges devised a constant function market maker to mathematically determine prices. Among them, constant product market makers are the most widely used. In addition, several constant function market makers have been proposed. However, there was no discussion about the desirable requirements of a constant-function market maker. In this paper, we discuss the desirable requirements of a constant function market maker and show that the constant product market maker is still the most desirable constant function market maker.","PeriodicalId":518964,"journal":{"name":"2024 International Conference on Artificial Intelligence, Computer, Data Sciences and Applications (ACDSA)","volume":"1218 13","pages":"1-5"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140528881","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Traditional methods for SoC estimation have limitations in terms of robustness and accuracy, leading to the exploration of alternative techniques such as neural networks (NN). Neural networks are highly effective mathematical models that take inspiration from the organization and operation of the human brain, and their ability to handle complex nonlinear relationships makes them ideal for SoC estimation. The aim of this work is to train a NN with an optimized architecture for SoC predicting. In particular a Genetic Algorithm Neural Network (GANN) was used with three hidden layers to evaluate the state of charge of the lithium battery. The results show that an average error of 2% is riched on the test set. So the GANN method can be considered promising for this kind of evaluation.","PeriodicalId":518964,"journal":{"name":"2024 International Conference on Artificial Intelligence, Computer, Data Sciences and Applications (ACDSA)","volume":"175 ","pages":"1-5"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140528160","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the success of image classification models is dependent on several factors such image quality, dataset size and class distribution. Achieving acceptable accuracies with datasets not meeting these requirements is challenging. Domain specific dataset augmentation techniques have been proposed to mitigate the problem. This paper investigates adaptation of multi-source datasets as an augmentation approach to improve accuracy of crack detection in bridge concrete structures from low quality images in limited and imbalanced datasets. While experimental results show that data augmentation can improve accuracy of detection, we anticipate achieving even better results by combining this approach with generative machine learning models in future research.","PeriodicalId":518964,"journal":{"name":"2024 International Conference on Artificial Intelligence, Computer, Data Sciences and Applications (ACDSA)","volume":"33 1","pages":"1-6"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140528947","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Elhag, Mohammed Salama, Shereen Nassar","doi":"10.1109/ACDSA59508.2024.10467787","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1109/ACDSA59508.2024.10467787","url":null,"abstract":"During the last decade many governments worldwide introduced mandatory regulations of BIM implementation. Accordingly, BIM has been widely adopted within the industry supply chain. Rather than being a software, BIM serves as a process that has the ability to pillar any project’s complete lifecycle. Despite the potentials of BIM being recognized, the studies on its adoption are still limited, in particular at the stage of FM, which is considered to be the lengthiest and the costliest one in the entire project’s lifecycle. Therefore, there is a need for BIM to mature and adopt by blending with other technologies in order to support FM more efficiently. Augmented Reality (AR) is a technology which is being utilized within the construction sector and has demonstrated benefits in managing operations and maintenance (O&M) of assets. AR superimposes digital material on top of real-world environment; hence the information delivered out of AR is reliable, traceable and meaningful. Various current studies on the implementation of AR in FM have focused on developing conceptual models or frameworks to enhance the management of facilities. This paper is addressing a gap of systematic literature review (SLR) for implementing AR in BIM enabled FM. The primary aim is to evaluate the advantages of integrating AR and BIM to support FM teams leading to an efficient management of operations and maintenance of assets. The findings of this work helps in expanding the limited body of evidence by summarizing the current status of AR’s use in FM, shedding light on the important gaps in research, and helping to identify directions that future research can take.","PeriodicalId":518964,"journal":{"name":"2024 International Conference on Artificial Intelligence, Computer, Data Sciences and Applications (ACDSA)","volume":"147 ","pages":"1-6"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140528964","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
